Durham venison chunks have just been added to the website.

These have been going down a treat in my house.

Venison is a good source of B vitamins and minerals such as zinc, phosphorous, and iron. It helps dogs maintain healthy energy levels and many dogs enjoy the taste. Venison is great for dogs who may have food sensitivities or allergies to other protein sources such as beef or chicken.

Job description

We are looking for someone to join our team here at roanhead Kennels! Our ideal candidate is someone who will care for the dogs as their own, with a great attention to detail, a good work ethic and of course reliable. Confident with handling dogs is a must. Training will be given for all aspects of the job. Good time keeping is essential.

An animal management qualification would be advantageous, but not essential.

This job will include:

Exercising dogs

Assistance with grooming

Working in all weathers

Working with a variety of breeds and sizes

Cleaning the kennels

Feeding

Checking dogs in and out

Assisting customers both in person and on the phone

Providing enrichment to the dogs, both inside and outside

General office administration

General upkeep of the premises, light maintenance in quiet periods and cleaning

Mega Braids. Super long lasting, these are excellent for those enthusiastic chewers. Camel in particular has a very high protein content and is ultra-low fat! Camel also is a good choice for those with common protein allergies/intolerances and due to being hypoallergenic, they’ll be kind on those sensitive stomachs. *Approximately 40-50cm*

I was contacted by Brad about his dog Koby a few weeks back asking for advice on what to feed him as he has many allergies. Brad gave me a very long list of everything Koby was allergic to and I went through the list working out what he could and couldn’t have.

We put koby on a raw diet consisting of mainly beef and beef and heart with the a few packs of the rabbit mince.

There’s not many treats or chews he can have either so we have to be very careful and will try introducing maybe some ostrich bones and cows hooves when his skin has fully recovered.

These pictures below are before and after he started his new diet which he is loving by the way 😊
The first pic is before and you can see how bad his skin was and hardly any hair, the second picture is 2 weeks after being on a raw diet and his skin has started to clear up and fur grown back.

Koby was being fed a plant based dry food before he started his raw diet as ordinary dog food contained to many things he was allergic too, but clearly that wasn’t good for him either.

Koby is now a much happier dog as he is no longer itching 😊

This shows how good a raw food diet is for dogs especially for ones with allergies 🥩🍗🦴🍖
