Pack Walks
The emphasis on these walks is to encourage dogs to be with each other, but not rely on interacting with each other constantly…. we aim to increase focus and connection with you, their handler, when there are other dogs and distractions about, so your dog learns that focusing on you pays off far more than running off to greet other dogs! We will also show you how to teach your dog not to chase joggers, cyclists, horse riders and livestock.

Reactive dogs deserve the chance to feel safe, confident, and comfortable in the world around them. Reactivity is a common issue that can stem from fear, anxiety, or a lack of proper socialization. Left unaddressed, it can lead to more serious behavioral problems and limit a dog's quality of life.

That's why we're hosting a Reactive Dog Workshop on Saturday 5th April at 10:30 to give Dogs/pups and their owners the tools they need to manage and overcome reactivity.

As a dog trainer/behaviourist, I'm looking forward to helping rehabilitate rescue dogs this week. I'm excited to meet the new dogs, conduct assessments, and develop customized training plans. My goal is to provide enrichment, implement positive reinforcement techniques, and empower the rescue staff. I'm motivated to witness the dogs' transformations and be part of the centre's mission to find them loving forever homes.

She a lovely friendly girl with people and gets on great with every human she meets, she walks brilliantly on a lead, but she doesn't get along with other dogs and would definitely need to be an only dog in the home.

Our Faithful Companion

Loyal eyes that shone so bright,
A wagging tail that brought delight.
Your gentle spirit, your loving ways,
Brightened our hearts in countless days.

Though your fight grew weary, your strength untold, We watched you bravely, so brave and bold. Now in heaven, you're pain-free at last, Memories of you forever will last.

Our faithful companion, our cherished friend, Your love and devotion knew no end. Until we meet again beyond this earth, We celebrate the joy you brought, your endless worth.

Rest peacefully, sweet Barley, in the arms of our Lord. Your legacy of love, we will ever afford.

Update on 16-Week-Old Luna's Emotional Support Dog Training - Improving Recall & Introducing New Cues

I had the pleasure of working with 16-week-old labradoodle Luna for our second training session today. I'm thrilled to report that Luna's recall is becoming more robust as owners Jenna Parker & Jake introduced low-level distractions.

During the session, we worked on Luna's recall at distances ranging from 20 meters down to 5 meters. Jen and Jake called Luna's name and used the "Come!" cue, even as I gradually introduced distractions like sudden movements, novel objects and sounds. 16-week-old Luna demonstrated a strong motivation to quickly return to her owners, earning lots of praise, clicks, and treats.

In addition to refining her recall, we also successfully implemented the "off" cue at a foundation level. This will be an important command for keeping Luna focused and under control, especially in the school environment.

Next week, we'll be ramping up the distractions even further, introducing children and other dogs independently. I'm confident that with Jen and Jake's dedicated training, 16-week-old Luna will continue to make excellent progress towards becoming a reliable and supportive presence for the students at West Park Academy

I'm so impressed by the work Jen, Jake, and Luna have put in so far. Stay tuned for more updates on this incredible emotional support dog in training!
