Here at Petpals our fabulous feline friends are taking over this weekend day! 😻😽 & we think these VIPS own it too! 🐈🐈‍⬛

Our Cat Sitting Team have shared these super cute photos whilst caring for your kitty’s ❤️ share your 𝗖𝗔𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 pics in the comments, we would love to see how purrrrfect they are!! 🤗

📌 So how does it work?
Firstly, we arrange a meet and greet with you and your cats at a time to suit you. We have an in-depth care assessment process covering all aspects of your cat’s feeding requirements and routines.
🐈 We will also talk to you about cat flap use, litter trays, grooming, vet details and any medication, including insulin injections, that your cat may require.

We usually offer 3 options:
1. One visit per day (usually in the morning)
2. Morning and afternoon visits
3. One visit and set your automatic feeder for a second meal
However, we are happy to offer a more tailored service to meet your individual requirements. 🫶

November is internationally designated as Pet Diabetes Month and is dedicated to spreading awareness of this condition.
Recent studies have shown that approximately 1 in 300 dogs and 1 in 200 cats have diabetes in the UK.
Diabetes mellitus occurs when an animal is unable to regulate their blood sugar levels. In the body blood glucose (sugar) should be regulated by the hormone insulin.
f your pet is showing any of these symptoms long term it may be worth getting them checked out for diabetes.

Want to repurpose your pumpkins? 🎃

Discarded pumpkins can harm some wildlife, including hedgehogs, so please avoid leaving them on the ground or in woodland areas.

You can offer fresh pumpkin and seeds to birds in your garden feeders, but remember to remove any leftovers before they get mouldy.

Halloween is a fun time for everyone, but it’s important to keep our pets safe during all the festivities! Here are some tips to make sure your furry friends stay happy and healthy tonight:

🍬 Keep Sweets Out of Reach: Many treats, especially chocolate, are dangerous for pets. Make sure sweet bowls are in safe spots, and remind little trick-or-treaters not to share with their furry friends!

🎇 Mind the Decorations: Some Halloween decorations can be tempting to explore or chew on. Keep electrical cords, candles, and breakable decor out of reach.

👻 Costume Comfort: Don't force your pets to wear costumes! If however your pet enjoys dressing up, make sure costumes are comfortable, fit well, and don’t restrict movement, breathing, or vision.

🚪 Reduce Doorbell Stress: Constant doorbell rings can stress some pets. Set up a quiet room with their favourite toys and a cosy bed where they can feel safe if things get too lively.

🏡 Keep Pets Indoors: Loud noises and extra foot traffic can cause pets to bolt. Keep them indoors and ensure your pet’s ID tags and microchip info are up-to-date, just in case.

Everyone has been having lots of fun out and about with their friends recently! Between trips to our private enclosed fields, and adventures on the lovely walks around Darlington, there’s always plenty to see and explore with your furry friends! 🐕

Each walk is a different experience, with carefully planned, small groups of dogs to make sure all the doggos have the most fun! 🥰🐾

Today is WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY ❤️

We would like to highlight the positive effects that pets can have on our everyday lives. Research on pets and mental health has found that pets can have a positive impact on mental health. Interacting with animals has been shown to decrease levels of cortisol (a stress-related hormone) and lower blood pressure. Playing with a pet can increase levels of oxytocin and dopamine, which can create positive feelings. Other studies have found that animals can reduce loneliness, increase feelings of social support, and boost your mood. Pets can also help people develop a sense of security, routine, and stability as well as increasing physical activity with dogs especially.
