What a happy unexpected ending for the beautiful Smokey🐱
Smokey was brought to us as a stray a couple of weeks ago. We checked his microchip and tried to track down his owner.
He then went on to the kennels where he stayed for another week. During this time they noticed he was thin and eating lots. The kennel owners contacted us and we performed further investigations and blood tests, which all came back clear.
The microchip was still registered to his previous owner who moved from the area 7 years ago. She had to re-home him through no fault of her own and went through the correct channels with the help of rescue centre who found him a lovely new home 7 years ago. However his chip was never changed.
We have no idea what happened since then or where he ended up but we were able to get in contact with his previous owner who made the long trip today from Peterborough to be re-United with him today after all this time.
He recognised her straight away and has now gone off to enjoy a peaceful retirement with his original owner ❤
We all fell in love with him during his stay and we will miss his funny little character but we are thrilled with his happy ending. We hope to keep in touch and hear all about his wonderful new life. ❤
Buster enjoyed our coriander the other day after his castration. He also enjoyed our nurse Lianne's carrots that she brought with her for dinner. What a cutie. 🐰
