**Meet the team**

Claire Marie Brown BVetMed, Cert SAS, MRCVS, RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery.
After graduating from the Royal Veterinary College in London, Claire Marie Brown began her career in a mixed veterinary practice in the North East of England, where she developed a strong interest in orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery. She later gained valuable experience working in charity practice and at a busy veterinary hospital, handling internal referrals from multiple locations.
Claire completed a surgical certificate through the University of Liverpool, earning the designation of RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery.
She has a particular passion for orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures, with a special focus on stifle surgery and fracture management.
Outside of her professional life, Claire enjoys running, travelling, snowboarding, and prioritizing wellness. She loves spending quality time with her husband, Luke, and their two children, Florence and Max. Their family also includes a Dalmatian named Star and two rescue cats, Popeye and Simba.

With an impressive career spanning over two decades, David brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team. Here's a little about him:

🎓 **Qualifications & Experience**:
David qualified from **Cambridge University in 2003**, having already completed a degree in Physiology and a PhD in Neuroscience. He went on to achieve **RCVS Advanced Practitioner status** in both **Emergency & Critical Care** and **Small Animal Internal Medicine**. Over the years, he has gained an array of prestigious qualifications in Cardiology, Small Animal Medicine, Emergency & Critical Care, and Veterinary Anaesthesia & Analgesia.

🔬 **Clinical Journey**:
David's career has taken him to leading referral centers across the UK, where he has excelled in Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, and Cardiology. He has held senior roles, including Head of ECC and ICU services, and has been instrumental in shaping high-standard veterinary care.

💡 **Clinical Interests**:
David’s clinical expertise spans **ECC, Medicine, Cardiology, and Anaesthesia**, allowing him to take a holistic approach to patient care. He’s passionate about applying his extensive knowledge to ensure the best outcomes for pets and their families.

👨‍🏫 **Education & Mentorship**:
David has a passion for teaching and mentoring. He has served as the Programme Coordinator for the BSAVA postgraduate certificate in ECC and is an examiner for both ECC and Medicine certificate exams.

💙 **Beyond Veterinary Medicine**:
David is a strong advocate for mental wellbeing and neurodiversity within the veterinary profession. He actively contributes to the **Vetlife Neurodiversity Working Group**.

🏡 **A Bit About David**:
David lives in Scotland with his three children and a cat. When not at work, you’ll find him mountain biking through Scotland’s beautiful landscapes, working on his campervan conversion, or perfecting his cooking skills at home.
