OUR REHOMING PROCESS

If you would like to adopt one of our cats, please follow our new temporary rehoming procedures.

***STEP ONE: Please Message us on Facebook Messenger or email [email protected] to request a Perfect Match cat adoption application form. You can express a preference for a cat or cats you have seen on Our Cats website page or our page, but when we conta

ct you we will advise whether you are a match for a specific cat. It is RSPCA policy to rehome kittens in pairs for company, unless there is another animal in the home. You need to live within one hour's drive of Darlington.***

***STEP TWO: Complete the application form and email to [email protected] As we have limited rehoming resources, unfortunately we cannot acknowledge receipt of application forms.***

***STEP THREE: Your details will be added to our database and we will contact you when a perfect match is found, so please do be patient. Due to a high volume of applications, it may be a few weeks before you hear from us. When we have a perfect match you will receive an email or phone call, asking for further information and / or advising you whether we are able to pair you with a specific cat at this time. Due to a high number of applications, it may be a few weeks before you hear from us.***

***STEP FOUR: If we can offer you a cat or cats for adoption, the remainder of the application process will be completed via phone, email and potentially via video conferencing. You will be asked to provide photos or video of your home.***

***STEP FIVE: If the adoption process is successful,your cat will be brought safely to your home by experienced RSPCA staff.***

***STEP SIX: You will receive ongoing support from us following adoption, and a post adoption home visit will be carried out when current movement and other restrictions have been lifted.

Adult cats sometimes stay in our care for months before they find a new home. Kittens grow up so fast, and within 12 months will look similar to these glorious cats!

🐾BROCCOLI and SWEDE🐾

Broccoli (black male) and Swede (tabby female) are sweet, 10-11 week old kittens who are looking to find their forever home!

Broccoli, along with his 5 other siblings, was found outside at only a few days old. However, 4 of them sadly passed away. 💔 Brave, strong and mighty Broccoli was hand reared by one of dedicated foster carers and has grown into a bouncy, confident and playful kitten!

Swede was found alone, outside and under a bush. She is very lucky to be here with us. Swede can be a very nervous little girl and will hide when frightened but she has found the confidence to play with Broccoli’s helping paw! 🐾

🏡Swede and Broccoli would like to be rehomed together, can live with other friendly cats, cat friendly dogs and cat savvy children.

‼️MISSING CAT‼️

Ex-Cat Hub resident Nero has been missing from his home, since mid August, in the Gainford area.

He is a 5 - 6 year old black neutered male.

Nero is microchipped and it is unusual for him to be away from home this long.

If you live in the area please check sheds, garages, outbuildings and surrounding areas.

✨ADA✨

Gorgeous Ada is an approximately 9-10 month old female who came into Cat Hub care from a multi cat household. She has the glossiest black coat with a surprise white belly!

Ada is a tiny and elegant lady who adores playing. The fluffier the toy, the better for Ada! She loves a chin tickle, head scratch, belly rubs, cardboard boxes and to be told just how beautiful she is.

She loves human company, to sit on laps and be picked up. She will make a wonderful friend to the lucky person that adopts her 🖤

🏡Ada has made friends with the resident dogs in her foster home, so she could live with cat friendly dogs but would prefer to be the only cat in the home.

Beautiful boys Billy and Ted (previously Flounder and Scuttle) were tiny kittens when left the Cat Hub for their forever home back in January! Their new owner has been kind enough to keep us updated on how the boys are doing throughout the year, and we couldn’t believe our eyes when we read that yesterday, they celebrated their first birthday! 🙀🎉🥳🎂

“Billy and Ted are turning one today, they are such sweet little brothers, always doing everything together, as you will see from the photos.
I can’t believe I have had them for almost a year now.
I am wondering how the Christmas tree will survive as they won’t be able to resist.

Noddy is a beautiful, 1-2 year old black male cat who came into Cat Hub care from a multi cat household.

Noddy is a true prince. He has the sweetest nature and is full of so much love that he just wants to share with you everyday. He adores fusses, kisses, sitting on your lap, enjoys playtime and LOVES his humans, fellow cats and cat friendly dogs!

He’s happy to be picked up and is truly an amber eyed, gentle giant (with the tiniest meow!)

Honey is a sweet 12 week old kitten who is now looking for her forever home🏡
She came into our care after being found as a feral kitten by our superb inspectors🐱
She has since settled into the cosy indoors and enjoys the finer things in life, especially hot water bottles and bean bags😎

Genie, Oddity, Sandy and Elio came from two different litters but shared common ground by being Cat Hub babies. Happily, all four kittens were brought together as their new owner fell in love and decided to welcome them all into their home! ❤️🏡

“I thought I would drop you an up-date on how the kitties are getting on. Genie and Oddity settled in really quickly and were happy to explore everywhere. Sandy was a bit more timid and it took about 5 days for her to trust us. Elio has taken a bit longer, but is now doing really well.

All four have their own little personalities. Oddity is definitely the live wire and will be the mischievous one. Genie is never far behind and loves her little bird the Foster carers gave us. Both are really playful and very affectionate with the boys.

Sandy loves playing with the girls and also loves a snuggle. Her thing at the moment is fishing empty packets out of bins and running off with them.

Elio is quiet but very gentle. He will play and join in on his terms. Sandy was very cute with him in the first few weeks, often cuddling up to him. He is still a bit wary of the boys but is happy to have cuddles when he wants.

We love them all and glad they are getting on so well with each other.”

🖤BEAR AND GOSLING🖤

Bear (female) and Gosling (male) are two outrageously adorable, 3 month old kitten siblings who came into our care after they were signed over by their previous owner. They are now ready to find their forever family!

Gosling is a tiny explorer and Bear loves to play with her toys!!

They are both wildly affectionate and once they have tired themselves out after a long play, they will gladly snuggle up to you…even more so if you have a fluffy blanket for them to cosy into!

🏡They are a bonded pair so are looking to be rehomed together. They could live with friendly cats and cat savvy children.

Gorgeous Pie is a 6-7 month old gentleman who is now ready to move on to his forever home! 🏡

Pie came into Cat Hub care after he was found outside while we were trapping and neutering a feral colony. He has since settled into the cosy indoors and enjoys the finer things in life. Namely, a hot water bottle...😎

He is a true gentleman that enjoys snoozing on a cat tower, whilst listening to the radio 🎵 Pie has also made friends with other cats and kittens! 😽

🏡 Pie will need patience in his new home until he comes out of his shell! 🐱 He is litter-trained and must have another cat friend in his new home!

🐈‍⬛COLUMBIA and MAGENTA🐈‍⬛

These beautiful ladies are still on the prowl for a forever home. Could you, or someone you know, be their perfect match? Please share and tag your friends and family! 🐾🙏🏻

Columbia and Magenta are two beautiful, 4-5 month old sisters who came to us from a garden where, along with their mum and siblings, they were left behind when their previous owner moved away. Although their mum was friendly, her kittens hadn’t seen people before.

Both girls can be quite nervous but are slowly gaining confidence with their loving foster mum.

Magenta is the braver of the two. She is gaining confidence around people and will come to you for head butts, fusses and belly rubs. She is also very enthusiastic about her food!

Columbia is the more nervous of the two but her foster mum has given her the time and patience to gradually grow her confidence around humans. She loves to snuggle up on a blanket with you and although she can be a little wary of hands coming near her, she has no problem with trying to catch your toes! 😼 She also likes to look out the window and birdwatch!

They both have extra glossy coats and are absolute pro biscuit makers! 🐾🍪

🏡The girls are looking to be rehomed together, need to be indoor cats and are looking for an experienced owner who can give them plenty of patience and accepts them for who they are. ❤️

Custard is a nervous boy who is still learning to trust humans. He currently has a safe space (crate) that he is able to run back into when interaction becomes a little too much for him. Our Story...

The RSPCA Cat Rehoming Hub is a rescue and rehoming cattery based just outside Darlington in the North East of England.

We work with local RSPCA branches to rehome cats and kittens rescued by RSPCA officers across the Darlington, Stockton, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Sunderland, Northallerton and North Yorkshire areas. The cats we rehome have often faced cruelty or neglect, or been abandoned.

We have 20 pods in a local cattery which can accommodate up to 30 cats and kittens at any one time. We currently rehome more than 300 cats and kittens each year and we are planning to steadily increase that number. To do that costs us £75,000 each year.

You can help us in our mission to rescue and rehome neglected, abused and abandoned cats in our region by Volunteering, or Donating to us.
