Dementia's Got Talent is a first of its kind – a trailblazing, fundraising talent show taking place on Darlington Hippodrome's legendary stage.

Get ready for a fun, glitzy, glamorous evening of great entertainment!

Dementia’s Got Talent will show what can be achieved by those living with dementia and their loved ones, raise awareness of all the dementia groups across Darlington and raise vital funds for Alzheimer’s Society and dementia groups across Darlington.

Tickets are available from Darlington Hippodrome box office.

At the beginning of the year, we invested £500 into Lendwithcare

So far, we have:

We will continue investing to entrepreneurs throughout 2025.

Muhammad Riaz is a 45 year old vegetable seller. He lives in Lahore with his wife, four sons and a daughter. Three of his sons are studying at school, while his older son works and earns around £52 monthly. His wife and daughter manage the household.

Muhammad Riaz's vegetable sales business has been his livelihood for 13 years. He purchases fresh produce from farmers and sells a variety of vegetables, including potatoes, tomatoes, garlic, and ginger, to his local community at market rates. Despite his efforts, his monthly income remains limited, at approximately £56, which he must carefully allocate to cover personal and household expenses, leaving little room for savings or expansion.

Muhammad Riaz's vegetable sales business is facing a new challenge due to inflation, which has led to a surge in fixed costs, making it difficult for him to restock. To address this, he has applied for a loan to replenish his inventory and adapt to the changing market conditions. This loan will help him navigate the inflationary pressures and maintain his business's momentum, ensuring he can continue to provide for his community.

𝙇𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙚

Ernesto is a 63 year old married man with eight adult children of whom five are married and the others are independent. He lives with his wife in the Province of Negros Occidental where he and his wife have a poultry farm and a mini-grocery store.

Ernesto has been engaged in poultry farming for over seven years, focusing on raising fast-growing animals such as ducks, native chickens, and other commercial breeds of chicken. Their income is supplemented by a mini grocery store, primarily managed by his wife with some input from Ernesto. Both businesses have been successful, and Ernesto estimates their combined gross sales to exceed £276 per month.

As Ernesto expands his poultry farm and introduces new breeds of chicken, he is keen to enhance farm security and ensure the safety of his animals. Therefore, he has requested an 18-month loan to purchase construction materials for farm fencing. Additionally, part of the loan will be used to supplement the range of products in his grocery store with household items. Ernesto remains dedicated to working hard to ensure that both businesses reach their full potential.

Wow! Thank you to the customers at Rosies Tavern, Darlington for their generous donation of Advent Calendars.

As so many were donated (110 to be exact!), we have decided to offer these calendars to the children within the agency and the calendars remaining at the end of the week will be taken along to St Clare's foodbank in Newton Aycliffe.

Yes, you can foster if you have pets. However this will depend upon the temperament of the pet.

Any pets you have that live in the home will be considered as part of your assessment and dogs will have their own risk assessment.
