Arrow Riding Centre for the Disabled

Arrow Riding Centre for the Disabled The Arrow Riding Centre is for young people and adults with special needs. We are a friendly, volunteer-run charity located in Dartford Kent.

Our team of qualified instructors work with our physiotherapists to develop tailor-made programmes for each of our riders, helping them to unlock their potential on and off the horse.

From when this video was filmed, we have lost some ponies and volunteers so it's nice to remember them. And a bit of fun! πŸŽ„πŸŽ…

Our last planned day for riding is this Saturday 21st December but it does depend on whether we have enough volunteers available. Please do let us know if you are planning to ride this Saturday 😊. After Saturday, our ponies are going on their well earned Christmas break and will be ready to welcome everyone back on Friday 3rd January 2025 (where has this year gone 😳!)

Big well done to Rosa today! Natalie and Rosa have taken part in the Fawkham & District Riding Club dressage series every month since September scoring consistently 1st or 2nd place. Today was the final show of the series and they came 2nd and won the championship πŸ†. Red rosettes and big trophies really suit Rosa! Rosa has had a busy but amazing year seeing the world outside of Arrow and I'm sure she is looking forward to her Christmas break! πŸ‘πŸ»

πŸ’™ Meet Eric πŸ’™
Some of you may have met or even ridden our newest team member Eric. He has been with us for two weeks on trial from Fiona Maynard Para Rider whilst we make sure he is a good fit at Arrow and enjoys being here. He has been an extremely good boy and passed his vet inspection yesterday with Kent Equine Hospital. So today we have agreed with Fiona to buy him and are excited for our future together! A huge thank you to Friendsofshelbynewstead for giving us this opportunity with Eric. Good boy Eric 🌟

We are still on the search for a bigger horse. 15.2hh cob no older than 10 ideally so please keep your eyes peeled!

What a day we had at our Carol Concert on Sunday! We are totally overwhelmed by the number of people that came, thank you all so much for supporting us β™₯️. Our riders and ponies were fantastic and a huge big thank you to all of our volunteers and staff for their hard work, and of course to Val for putting on such a great afternoon. Thanks to all of you, we raised a staggering Β£4,930 which has blown us away and is just amazing!! Wouldn't it be fantastic if we could raise Β£70 today to round it off to Β£5000...please use our Kindlink donation page https://donate.kindlink.com/Arrow-Riding-Centre-for-the-Disabled/4409

🌟🌟🌟Behind the scenes at Arrow!🌟🌟🌟
Today was dentist day for all of the ponies. Our dentist Chris Keates and his team done a fab job making sure all of the ponies teeth were rasped and no sharp edges...not quite like us visiting the dentist is it! They are all done for another year but Chris will be back in 6 months to rasp the younger ponies who have to have a dentist visit twice a year. This is one of the many treatments that the ponies have to have, along with saddle checks, farrier visits, worm counting, vaccinations and physio to help them stay in tip top condition so they can do the fantastic job that they do. Your donations help towards the upkeep of our amazing ponies and it isn't cheap! So we thank everyone that has donated recently, bought raffle tickets and is coming to our annual fundraiser - the Carol Concert this Sunday πŸ€—
