Hollee Roller ball is my all time favourite toy for the dogs.
🐾 Safe for them to carry In their mouths and still be able to pant/breathe.
🐾Brilliant for a game of tug - unlike tennis balls where all the fun is thrown away from you.
🐾 Get them on a bungee for an even more interactive game.
🐾 Scrunch them up to put in your pocket/bag.
🐾Remember to keep them valuable
And only use them when out walking or as a reward in your training.

Alongside his agility training and of course, time spent exploring the countryside, I adore teaching Drummer to ‘pose like a pro’. From a standard sit/down and wait in position to the super cute chin target or maybe you’d like behaviours like pretty or peeking from behind a tree, our photo shoot training session will give you the know how to achieve some super cool photos.
Please contact me to discuss booking. Training available as single session or blocks of four.
Thank you to Little Pip Photography for this fantastic shoot, get in touch with Karen to discuss both studio and outdoor shoots (be quick though if you want bluebells!)
Day 2
Today we get some nice duration with the chin target, going to make the target much smaller for tomorrow’s training. The hide your nose trick is a bit slower in progressing, he’s not yet understanding the verbal cue, so I will put a bit of extra training into that one, other than just for these videos.
Hope you’re all enjoying following along
Leigh & Drummer 🐾
Day 1 of teaching Drummer some tricks ready for his photo shoot. Why not follow along with your dog - feel free to ask any questions or post your own videos for any help 🐾
Tricks are not just about teaching your dog to do clever things. They are also a huge concept builder, to name a few:
Disengagement
Confidence
Focus
Engagement
Proximity
Arousal up and down
Self control
This morning we’ve used Drummers breakfast to practice some trick training and then finished off with a scatter feed to help build that dimmer switch. Perfect start to the morning 🥰
We have a taster session for tricks next Thursday (28th) at 6pm and starting next Tuesday (26th) we have Tricks Summer Club - only 1 space left on this one now, so be quick!
Trick training doesn’t always go right. Teaching Drummer to weave - his thoughts on the matter …. ‘I prefer peekaboo’ 🙄🤣
5 spaces left for summer tricks club.
It’s all very well going to the park to practice your netball goalie skills but it really needs the human to have some kind of shooter skills as well 🙄🤣🐾❤️
‘Footsie’
This is one of the DMWYD Expert tricks.
It’s foundations are from peekaboo/middle, which we introduced in our taster session.
We have a couple of spaces left on this Thursdays taster session, which can be booked via the K9 website 👉🏻 https://www.k9-dog.training/otheritems.html
Do you have a dog that’s always on the go? A dog that it appears, always needs to be ‘doing’ something?
Our tricks and games are just what you’re looking for! Starting in June are our taster sessions, why not come along, meet other like minded owners and their dogs and teach your dog new things that will stimulate him both mentally and physically and take your relationship to the next level 🐶🐾
Booking is via our dog training website here 👉 https://www.k9-dog.training/otheritems.html
Teaching ‘Footsie’
Just a few minutes of training is so so beneficial for your dog and such a boost for your relationship.
This morning I thought we’d give ‘Footsie’ a try. He was a little unsure at first of what I wanted, so I used a mixture of shaping, luring and modelling to achieve the desired out come. With of course, lots of praise and treats.
As well as being an awful lot of fun, tricks like this are a massive boost for your dogs proximity to you, his optimism, focus, engagement, flexibility, arousal levels, novelty - you really are teaching so many concepts with just one trick!
Object Wrapping
Teaching your dog to ’wrap’ is not only used in sports work but is also a great exercise for flexibility and fitness. Being able to direct it from a distance, high lights your dogs understanding of exactly what you’re asking of him and to be able to do it out and about gives you an awesome game to keep your dog interested and wanting to be with you having fun!
