Jackson and I enjoyed lots of cuddles and snuggles over the weekend in Kingsbridge. He loves nothing more than a cuddle in bed in the morning. Me too! So nice.

Pets helped me through my cancer treatment. I was lucky enough to be surrounded by my friends cats after breast surgery a few months ago.

The cats most definitely picked up on my vulnerability and weakness after surgery. They'd want to sit next to me or snuggle up in my bed with me at night or during my afternoon nap.

'Baby', the kitten was never very far away. She always brought me great joy and made me giggle at her funny antics.

I always offer a free 'meet and greet' for any pets I'm thinking of looking after.

I met Jackson a couple of months ago and I've kept in contact with the owner between then and now.

I took Jackson for a walk on my meet and greet visit to encourage bonding and familiarity. This lays the foundation for a more successful pet sit.

It's all about reassurance for the owner and pet, as they're leaving their treasured pet and home in your care. That's a big commitment!

I always put myself into their shoes and treat them as I'd like to be treated.

This is Wombat and Olive, my 2 adorable piggies. Every time I pet sit for someone, they go to a piggy sitter to be looked after. It's always a delight seeing them again as they always make me giggle. They're such cuties.

'Baby' is a 4 month kitten that I was looking after recently. I noticed he wasn't walking around and so I got the owner's permission to take him to the vet. He had a fractured leg and spine!

I was advised to keep him in a crate for the remainder of the pet sit. I'm pleased to say that he's recovering well and is now walking around.

So happy for him and the owners. A happy ending!

Little Bettye loves to rest on her wee sofa. She's so sweet.

I love to see her excitement when I announce it's 'walkie time'. She's so eager to play ball & stick. It's so fun!

I'm so happy to be back looking after Bettye & Martha. This is my 3rd time sitting them. They're lovely & love nothing more than playing ball in the fields around.

They're pooped after a good walk & play. Time for a cuppa!

It's been an eventful 2 weeks with 5 cats & 1 poorly kitten. 'Baby', the kitten hadn't been walking, so I got permission from the owners to take him to the vet. An X ray showed he had a fractured spine & lower back leg! I was shocked.

So he's now on pain relief & has to be kept confined to his crate to help him heal. It's not been easy for us both. However, I've kept him with me every day & night by moving the crate from room to room, so he's rarely alone.

He's next to me at night, like a baby in a cot. So I reach down & reassure him he's not alone. He softly paws my hand & licks it. It's beautiful.

I've done my best by cooking Baby fresh chicken & white fish. He has kitten milk & water daily. I just hope he fully recovers.

To me, pet sitting isn't just about feeding & exercising and animal, it's about reassuring them & making them feel safe & loved. To help relax an anxious pet, I like to play calming music.

BABY is just 4 months old & whilst his owners are away I've been playing different music every day. Music for cats & dogs is widely available online. I even play it for my guitar pigs at home

Making sure that the kitten, 'Baby', is happy. Her mother has abandoned her since she was 'done' recently. Baby is devastated.

I put on relaxing music, swaddled her in a blanket & smoothed her. She's now asleep.

My return to dog sitting after cancer treatment was awesome. Spent the weekend with Bettye & Martha near Hope Cove.

We went to the beach, swam, ran along the shoreline & had lots of cuddles.

I absolutely love my pet sitting, but it'll have to go on hold for a while. I'm having cancer treatment again after being in remission for 16 years!

Caring for animals nurtures me too, so I'm hoping that I'll be able to get back to it in a few months.
