Happy birthday Poppy! I cannot believe that she is 11!
The most wonderful girl and the one that started Satterley Labradors.
Mum and Grandma to so many amazing labs.
This girl couldn't be more loved X X x ❤️💞❤️.

Happy 11th birthday to the loveliest, friendliest, gentlest girl ever. How can she be 11!

It is no understatement to say that this girl changed our lives. Whilst not my first dog, she was our first Labrador and now look at us! 🤣

Having Poppy led me to change careers (several times) which led to us becoming 5 star licenced breeders (well Poppy and her descendents deserve the best) and to the creation of Poppy's Play Parks, loved by us and so many. Poppy loves being part of the clean up gang but does take a more well deserved leisurely approach now. ❤️

Thank you Poppy for being such a wonderful girl, gentle companion to us, the children, the best mum and Grandma ever and lovely to just everyone who knows her. She also loves feet so no flip flops around her unless you want your feet thoroughly cleaned! 😄.

We love you Poppy very much and wishing you the best day X X ❤️

Delilah and Gretel passed their foundation life skills tonight and posed by their certificates and rosettes.

The girls had the best time in the pool at My Dog Activities, Training & Behaviour . They were amazing and the puppies can swim really well. Delilah amazingly can swim underwater! 😱😍❤️😍X X ❤️

A long journey (terrible traffic) to RVC Hatfield for Maisie and Bessie's annual eye test.
In the photo they have had the eye drops in and are waiting to be called into the examination room.

Really so very happy to announce that both did well, no issues, and they now have a years new certificate.

Depending on what happens with seasons etc this should be Maisie's last one.
And next year Delilah and Gretel will be having theirs! ❤️😍💓😍❤️

This is a lovely picture of our gorgeous Bessie. She is beautiful, gentle, loving and easy going as well as wonderfully motherly.

Bessie has taken Delilah and Gretel under her wing as she did Jemima and loves nothing more than cleaning them and playing with them. Bessie really is a super star.

Bought this crate topper for the big girls crate. It's lovely. I didn't worry for the puppies 2 crates as ideally they are temporary but the big girls crate is a permanent fixture so I thought would make it a bit more decorative.

*Jemima modelling looking fed up in her crate! ❤️. She wasn't shut in jist took herself in there whilst I was adding the ornaments. ❤️

If anyone is interested I can pass on the details of where we got it. It's not local to me but was delivered easily x X ❤️

Experienced, responsible, licenced breeder with fully health & DNA tested, Kennel club registered labradors. We have been awarded a 5 star breeding licence from Dover District Council. Licence number- 000006908. We are insured & registered with HMRC.
A little about us -all our labs are part of the family, are wonderful companions & just a little bit spoilt! We are passionate about breeding with the utmost care for them & their puppies and adhere to all the higher KC standards re breeding conditions & health testing (see below).
All puppies are raised in the home, as are all our dogs. Before going to their new homes they will be micro-chipped, vet-checked, vaccinated & KC registered. They leave wormed & flea treated, with a full puppy pack, 5 generation certificate & lifetime support.
The support starts from first contact and no question is too big or small. This is part of the package you are getting when you purchase a Satterley Labrador puppy! Support ranges from planning to bring puppy home, through settling, house training, adolescence, to managing older labs, their later life & after. We consider all our puppy buyers as friends/family as each puppy leaves with a piece of us- cliched but very true! Litter What's App groups enable us all to see the siblings grow, share advice & stories & adds another layer of support.
All our puppies & dogs are loved & wonderfully cared for in the home with quality food & full attention. Puppies are socialised & experience living in a busy family home with all its noise etc. Our puppies go to vetted & wonderful homes only, who commit to keeping in touch (within reason- we won't be interfering unless needed!)

Please note the following-
*Once vetted, we operate a waiting list so please be prepared to wait, to commit to being on our list only & keeping us informed of any plan changes. This is essential as we try to only breed when we have a full list to ensure each puppy has a home to go to.
**Our contract states any puppy/dog no longer able to be cared for must be returned to us so we can re-home or for them to remain with us if that is in the best interest of the puppy/dog. No Satterley Labrador will go into rescue.
***All puppies go to their new homes with breeding & importing restrictions. We are willing to work with the buyer &, if appropriate, lift them. This is to ensure the best interests of the puppy are held at all times & that a Satterley Labrador isn't used for puppy farming/shipped abroad irregularly.
****KC rules -no dog to be mated till aged 1 & from 2nd season, with a year & a season between litters. Max of 4 litters/2 if caesarian. Cannot be mated after age 8. We wait till 3rd season & aprox age 2 as believe this is within the best interests of the lab.

Oh my goodness look at these adorable pictures of gorgeous Marley from Poppy's 2nd litter. Marley is so handsome, with the shiniest coat and looks so like his mum Poppy.

As Poppy gets older (she will be 11 in September) it's so lovely to see a youthful Poppy in Marley going strong. Thank you so much Donna Jeffries for sharing them in our litter group what's app and allowing me to share them on here. X X. Made me all emotional.❤️💕

This is where we go for training and they have a swimming pool! Love the fact that 2 of the pics are of Scout, Poppy and Bessie from last year. They had the best time in the pool. Poor Jo was soaked! The girls are good swimmers.....if a little enthusiastic! 🤣😍.
I love Jo single handedly managing them in the photo! Plus Scout and that chicken! 🤣. I was in the pool too and it was the best fun x x ❤️

This is so upsetting.
No care or attention for the puppies and makes me wonder about the poor mums. Puppies dying as they had milk makes me so upset and mum was cared for enough, fed decent food she probably would have had milk.
Well done to the buyer who contacted the council. Buyers have such a responsibility. If they dont buy the puppies these illegal buyers would fade out.
In this article the RSPCA spokesperson suggests people should rescue and not buy a puppy.
Everyone has the right to choose and if you choose to buy a puppy then choose a licenced breeder. This means checks/visits have been made, on the spot checks are done, the breeder has to be competent and they need to get a licence. Which they will only get if they provide a safe place for the dogs they have and any puppies.
So please choose wisely. X X X ❤️

A dog owner has been fined after breeding at least 10 litters of Pomeranian puppies in two years, and not taking care of them properly.

I love this quote! I wish more people would follow this. A decent, licenced breeder, will have done all the health testing, adhered to all the correct procedures and processes (always worth checking this of course) but choose a breeder who offers all this in the quote too.

And be flexible on timings/colour etc! Wait for the right breeder. Several times, people love what we stand for, offer and all that we do for our dogs and the puppies but then randomly choose a breeder based on speed of which they can get a puppy.

So grateful to those who have waited on my list, been on the journey with me to wait for their puppy and never waivered. It creates a great bond between us.

So yes choose a breeder, the one who puts their dogs first, who gives everything to their dogs & their puppies and is with you every step of the way with you and your puppy as they grow on to adulthood and beyond. ❤️

"Best advice is.......Don't buy a puppy...Buy a BREEDER. One who loves and cares for their dogs, one who will give a lifetime of aftercare, one who is more concerned if YOU are the right owner for their puppy.....then you will be blessed with a well reared, well loved pup with all the back up you may need."

Another HUGE reason puppy buyers need to do their research.
Breeders who breed these are culpable but buyers need to take responsibility also.

Research the breed you want so you come from a place of knowledge. Vet your breeder carefully (and expect to be vetted). Build a relationship. Look for life time support and health testing and see the breed specific evidence of the hip and elbow scores, the DNA, the eye tests of both patents. Check the LICENCE which is a legal requirement, unless you are pretty much giving the puppies away. Anyone selling an entire litter for over £1000 needs a licence (and that's sales costs and not profit).
If magically every buyer brought responsibly then there would be no backyard breeders. And backyard breeders aren't always set up in dirty sheds/kennels or people who want to meet you elsewhere. Sometimes they live in nice homes, and bred their dogs together, or bred theirs with a friend's etc etc but don't test, or check or offer any support and the dogs and puppies aren't KC registered.
Breeders and buyers share the responsibility for stopping this sort of thing happening. It's heartbreaking breaking. ❤️

Merle coat pattern is not a cocker breed pattern - it never has been … until recently. Now they are popping up here and there and people are paying silly money for this coat pattern … another breed like Collie or Dachshund will have to have been bred in (illicitly if KC registered) and you cannot register a pedigree Cocker with this coat pattern. Merle is NOT Roan which is a Cocker colour and is very different to Merle - which is a pattern not a colour. This coat pattern comes with serious linked potential health risks … like this blind pup here … causes deafness and other health issues too. Breeders are charging a fortune for these cross breeds … no one should breed health risks IN responsible breeders are trying to breed health risks OUT
