Every patient at animal house receives dental X-rays which is essential tool in assessing your pets overall dental health

Did you know?

80% of dogs over the age of 8 are likely to have dental disease

With cats, by the age of 10 nearly all will have some form of dental disease!

Week one of our Puppy Pre School 🐾

Bracken, Milo, Fudge and Ruby started our new puppy classes this week. They were all very well behaved and enjoyed the licki mats!

Our puppy parties are back, But with a new name.. Puppy Pre-school 🐶

With a special thanks to Dogs Trust dog school Canterbury who have helped our nurses create an up to date and relevant plan for these.

Our first course will begin on the 20th February 2025

The course is 4 weeks long and starts at 1:30pm (session time max - 45mins)

Rawhide can cause:
- gastrointestinal blockages
- choking

Xylitol is an artificial sweetener found in chewing gum, dental products & many confectionery items. It can cause dangerously low blood sugar & liver failure in dogs.

Serious salt poisoning often occurs due to pets eating homemade Christmas decorations made from salt dough

Gravy also often has a high salt content, although tempting to put over your pets dinner this may cause an upset stomach

Onions & garlic (& their plant relatives like leeks or chives) cause anaemia in pets.

Concentrated onion/garlic powder is also hidden in many Christmas food items, such as gravy & stuffing.

Symptoms include:
- anaemia
- vomiting and diarrhoea
- belly ache
- reduced appetite
- dehydration
