A chest view behind Shumbas ears from our fun day with the CUDH meet round Semer on Sunday.
I'm not as gung-ho as I used to be 😂 and wasn't up front with the thrusters but certainly jumped enough for me and Shumba was a pro, jumped everything I pointed him at. There was one that I thought I was a gonna at 😂.

Shumba also had a go at the exercise, he found it very hard to organise all those legs 😂. Willing to learn though. 🧡🧡🧡🦄

First video 10 yrs ago, second today 🥰. Still jumping 1.20 at ease. What an absolute diamond this horse is. Dom, we have been through a lifetime together and to still have you by my side jumping like this is special. Super proud of you old man 💙💙💙

Our forest trip was a success yesterday. Crystal was very happy to be out 🥰🦄. She's had 2 acupuncture treatments and 1 lazer. So far so good 🙏 Her reactions are getting less and less frequent. Hopefully we continue in the right direction. Her Mummy Mairi is back on board now too and is overcoming her confidence issues. Throughout all this Crystal has continued to be her genuine honest self and has never felt dangerous or unsafe. I have alot of time for this mare. But as we all know confidence can disappear just like that but takes a long time to get back. Thanks to Fliss and Imogen for all your riding and groundwork, its a big team effort. Onwards and upwards 🙌

Shumbas debut was a hit! 🥳 He led the Winstons Pinstripes round the novice bogey with ease and loved it. So so chuffed with him. Not bad for his first hedge hopping experience.

So so proud of this lil dude Shumba today. Thrown him in the deep end having not done much recently due to couple of set backs. Straight in at 90 with only having his first jump on Wednesday 🙈. And it wasn't a particularly inviting course with about 20 obstacles, the xc in particular. But he stormed round with 2 unlucky poles but nothing phased him ( straight over the bullfinch- good practice for our team chase debut next weekend 😉).
Dom reminded his Mummy that he is no fool and will not jump on a extreme angle. Other than that jumped clear. Shumba finished 10th. Dom 11th, team Finn Valley came 2nd. 🥳.
This weekend Dom took Aemlia round her first ever hunter trial for a steady clear in the 80. So proud of them both ❤️ 💙💙💙🦄
Aemelia use to share Dally but has upgraded to Dom beginning of Summer and I love how Dom looks after her and slowly ticking off her bucket list.
Dally is looking for a new sharer?! 😂😂😂.
Joking aside despite his bad rep he's not as half as naughty as he was. Just hacking and hunting and hacking you are only aloud to go with friends ( hacking on your own is boring anyway 😂). Not a novice ride but a " fun " ride! And he's just strong out hunting but it is his happy place. 😊 Any takers......
*** BRC SEIB combined championships ***
Dom and I headed to Aston le Walls representing Finn Valley for the sj and xc combined championships, worth the 12 hr round trip as he was a true hero and cheered me right up coming home with a individual 3rd in the 90! Honestly this horse is a true legend, lots of life left in this old boy yet.
The sj course was hideous, twisty, a bounce 😱, wonky plank treble and it never ended- it was a miracle that we went clear and no time faults 😂 . And I managed to not f*ck it up and another clear inside the time xc. Finishing on 0, as well as 2 others- not even a second between the top 3, v. tight! Couldn't be happier.
