*** BD Area festival @ Sheepgate ***

Soooo this was not meant to be 💔

Absolutely gutted that I had to W/D Simba this morning from the areas.

We traveled 3 1/5 hrs yesterday afternoon to have a 40 min school yesterday eve. It was probably one of our best schools, he absolutely loved the arenas, felt electric, our mediums felt spot on and no arguments. Dare I say I was looking forward to our test. 🫣

This morning he just didn't feel quite right. I ummed and ahhed but deep down I knew what I had to do. 😭 💔

A small mortgage later entered for Bury Farm in couple of weeks time, TAKE TWO 🎬 and we'll be on our A-game. 💪

Lewis had a jump in the jump field today thanks to the little rain we've recently had. He quite enjoyed himself 🥰🦄. We're still playing with different tools to help him understand his job. Last weeks grids and arrow heads has a made a huge difference to today. A very rewarding young horse to work with as he's a real tryer. 🥰

*** BRC SEIB Horse trials championship ***

On Friday we as a family plus Shumba headed to Swacliffe for the eventing championships representing Finn Valley RC.

Shumba settled in straight away, we had our dressage and sj on the Saturday where he produced a much improved test for 33.7. 🥳. We've been working on our dancing skills over the last few weeks . We even had a big mistske and dropped the canter early. So happy with that, lots more to come.

Showjumping sadly not our day with couple of green mistakes round a spooky course. Felt rather deflated after my round.

Sunday was xc day over a very hilly and spooky course for the inexperienced horse. But honestly this horse was fricken awesome nothing phased him, we went out of that start box meaning business. I'm still kicking myself for an early mistake at the first combination that I didn't set him up well at 2 angled brushes as he so deserved that clear round. I should of known better. 2 nights of no sleep may of contributed but still 😴. Once i gave myself a talking to we absolutely flew the rest making it feel incredibly easy.

One day it will all come together on the same day until then we shall keep practicing to be better.

Well done teamies Charlotte for 9th and Chessie 3rd. Great weekend even if no sleep was had 😂. Thank-you Fordy and Willow for the support 🥰

Huge thanks to Edmundson Eventing for looking after Pronto and giving him a good positive start taking him out sj, producing double clears at BN on a ticket and plenty of xc schooling which he LOVES ready for the next stage.

Thanks again to Mary putting us in contact with young rider Mollie Harris who we delivered Pronto to only a few weeks ago and today Pronto went to his first ODE at Gt Witchingham where he produced a 29 dr, and a fabulous double clear in the 80 for a 4th place. What a great start to his eventing career. Well done to everyone involved.

As his owner and breeder its been very difficult for me to stand down and hand over the reins and knowing that the stage of life i'm at that i can't give this incredibly intellegent tallented horse the work he needs to be at his best. If only I had Pronto 10 yrs ago he would of been the horse of my dreams ( perhaps a hand taller😂). Doing what's right has definitely not been the cheapest 🙈 but no regrets as watching this very special barbie pony out and about has made me a very proud owner and breeder and can watch him all day long!

*** BD and UA dressage ***

Shumba and Simba headed to Suffolk Rural for a spot of dressage.

Shumba warmed up brilliantly and didn't get too hot to handle 😂 and produced much improved tests for two 2nds. I never know how to warm up this horse for dressage. At home he's rather lazy and needs a rocket, so minimal warm up needed, but the last few dressage tests he's been a bit wired and tense and takes all my strength to keep a lid on it, so today was definitely a break through moment and was a pleasure to ride 2 relaxed tests- plenty to improve on but finally heading in the right direction.🧡🧡🧡

Simba dropped down to novice, just preparing for our area regionals in Aug. First test had a few big mistakes, 1 big spook and our give and re-take in the canter were awful and then a much improved 2nd test for 2 wins. He felt really good at a new venue and kept his cool. 💙💙💙

Loved this venue, not been before despite it being down the road.

Guess who is out of retirement?! .....

Polly LOVES life and LIFE is worth living! She's been a bit depressed watching life continue without her 😢. So after nearly 3 yrs off popped some tack on and had a pootle round the farm on the buckle. You are a legend 🦄🥰.

Lewis was pretty awesome today at Ickworth. He hasn't done all that much jumping. But he felt bold confident and safe never said no, took everything in his stride. We didn't bring a nanny but he didn't need one and coped with the 1000s of sheep EVERYWHERE! 😂.

I like this one, when he grows up he's going to be pretty cool, one for the future for sure 🤩🥰

Lewis will soon be looking for a new home. He is a tall, dark and handsome chap😍 5 yr old.

We've been doing plenty of hacking the last couple of weeks to help getting him stronger. And we'll get him back in the school this week and get some pics, so you can see more than his ears. 😂

Lewis is proving to be a very safe and sensible hack and has a very kind loving character and we love having him on the yard. 🥰🦄

Back from a great holiday in Egypt!

We rode a camel- Willow loved it ❤️.

Looking forward to get back to it, lots of things to look forward to! Dressage and eventing champs. Willows first show, new sales livery coming in soon! But where is our summer? 🥶. Hopefully brought some sun back 🙏

*** Suffolk Show ***

Showing may not be either of our favourite things to do but we had a blast in the ROR Showing class first thing this morning 7.30 in the grand ring.

It was an experience 😂 . Shumba is not the best in warm ups and today's warm up was VERY exciting. I stayed on, JUST 🙈 but in the ring he behaved brilliantly even if a little strong, holding my breath wondering if the judge could stop his gallop 🫣 " very powerful gallop" the judges words 😂. Sadly not placed, but we enjoyed ourselves.

Thanks Imo for being super groom and to Emma, Flora Aemelia for making the early start to watch us in the grand ring 🥰

🌞🌞🌞 Finn Valley ODE 🌞🌞🌞

Yesterday we headed to Poplar Park representing Finn Valley RC, Shumba in the 80 and Dom in the 90. It was a great day in so many ways 🥰🥰

Firstly finally Shumba got his double clear he so so deserves. Really pinging round the sj and a very straight forward easy clear xc. Was a slow optimum, so ambled from the start, taking wide turns which ended us in a bit of a rushed finish and was just over 🙈. My bad! The dressage was wild. Something about Poplar dressage arenas he doesn't like 🤷‍♀️. I have never ridden such a hot shumba on the flat other than when we were last here for their BE. He's calm at home and been calm at other places, so who knows. Today it didn't matter as he followed it up with a lovely double clear and the team WON! So we're off to the champs 🏆 🏆🏆🥳 Well done teamies 🙌

I bought Dom along for fun as he is looking and feeling sooo well. He didn't really get much prep other than sj last weekend, so he was his usual anxious self. But the old man still got it producing 30.2 in the dressage, could of been sub 30 without the army cadets by our arena 🤣, made me laugh. Dom will never change! Unlucky pole that prevented us a 2nd place overall and stormed round for a clear, inside the time in the xc. The team came 3rd! 🙌. I had written off eventing for Dom, no reason other than to look after the old boy and he's just such an emotional horse and gets so anxious at events. He's taken me up to intermediate and owes me absolutely nothing. But it felt very special riding him yesterday round the 90. 🥰

Lastly it was great having my top supporter Willow with me, seeing her smile and cheer as I went past gave me a boost. Thanks Flora and Aemilia for a fab day all round. 💜💙❤️🧡 And thanks to Finn Valley RC for a great event.

We've had alot of interest and alot of cancelled viewings through no fault of Missys but today she passed a 5 stage vetting and sold to the first people who saw her on Monday. Bitter sweet as we are delighted for the new owners but will be very sad to see her go 😢. And also end of an era for the current owners 😢.

14'2 Mare power house. 9 yr old low mileage. Missy was brought by current owners when she was 6, just imported from Ireland having mainly just hunted and a bit of jumping. Current owners aren't competitive and enjoyed hacking and riding at home and had plenty of lessons...

We went off to Topthorn to their BD show today. We will head off to other venues soon 😂. Just so convenient being just down the road and on a Wednesday when Willows at nursery 🙈.

Despite not producing our best work today mainly my fault with a minimal warm up for our novice (late again 🙈)I was reasonably pleased. We managed a tense test for just under 65% in our novice, 2nd place. Our final qualifying score for the areas. We then rode our first elementary with couple of big mistakes for just over 63%. So our first elementary score was a qualifying one ( just)for the areas. Can't wait to get more established at this level and continue to see how far we can go as its starting to feel we can dance. 💃💃💃
