Soooo this was not meant to be π
Absolutely gutted that I had to W/D Simba this morning from the areas.
We traveled 3 1/5 hrs yesterday afternoon to have a 40 min school yesterday eve. It was probably one of our best schools, he absolutely loved the arenas, felt electric, our mediums felt spot on and no arguments. Dare I say I was looking forward to our test. π«£
This morning he just didn't feel quite right. I ummed and ahhed but deep down I knew what I had to do. π π
A small mortgage later entered for Bury Farm in couple of weeks time, TAKE TWO π¬ and we'll be on our A-game. πͺ
*** Missy fan club ***
Lil update for Missy fans, she is having the best time and looks sooo happy.
Here's what the owner had to say....
"Hi just thought Iβd send you an update, sheβs settled in so well and weβre having so much fun, we went to our first dressage competition last week and won! We also do XC once a week which she loves x"
We are all so thrilled that she has found the best home π₯°π§‘
*** Lewis ***
Lewis had a jump in the jump field today thanks to the little rain we've recently had. He quite enjoyed himself π₯°π¦. We're still playing with different tools to help him understand his job. Last weeks grids and arrow heads has a made a huge difference to today. A very rewarding young horse to work with as he's a real tryer. π₯°
Stubble has arrived π π

I love this horses attitude he really wants to please. He feels so much stronger after a few weeks hacking and he doesn't mind dogs π.
Advert coming soon.....
*** Pronto ***
Huge thanks to Edmundson Eventing for looking after Pronto and giving him a good positive start taking him out sj, producing double clears at BN on a ticket and plenty of xc schooling which he LOVES ready for the next stage.
Thanks again to Mary putting us in contact with young rider Mollie Harris who we delivered Pronto to only a few weeks ago and today Pronto went to his first ODE at Gt Witchingham where he produced a 29 dr, and a fabulous double clear in the 80 for a 4th place. What a great start to his eventing career. Well done to everyone involved.
As his owner and breeder its been very difficult for me to stand down and hand over the reins and knowing that the stage of life i'm at that i can't give this incredibly intellegent tallented horse the work he needs to be at his best. If only I had Pronto 10 yrs ago he would of been the horse of my dreams ( perhaps a hand tallerπ). Doing what's right has definitely not been the cheapest π but no regrets as watching this very special barbie pony out and about has made me a very proud owner and breeder and can watch him all day long!
The best thing about the rain is that the tracks are soft enough for us to canter on. π₯³ π

Back behind the best ears β€οΈ
Guess who is out of retirement?! .....
Polly LOVES life and LIFE is worth living! She's been a bit depressed watching life continue without her π’. So after nearly 3 yrs off popped some tack on and had a pootle round the farm on the buckle. You are a legend π¦π₯°.
I π you π

Lewis was pretty awesome today at Ickworth. He hasn't done all that much jumping. But he felt bold confident and safe never said no, took everything in his stride. We didn't bring a nanny but he didn't need one and coped with the 1000s of sheep EVERYWHERE! π.
I like this one, when he grows up he's going to be pretty cool, one for the future for sure π€©π₯°
*** Lewis ***
Lewis will soon be looking for a new home. He is a tall, dark and handsome chapπ 5 yr old.
We've been doing plenty of hacking the last couple of weeks to help getting him stronger. And we'll get him back in the school this week and get some pics, so you can see more than his ears. π
Lewis is proving to be a very safe and sensible hack and has a very kind loving character and we love having him on the yard. π₯°π¦
Back to reality!
What a lovely morning to be back π.
Massive thanks to Imo, Fliss and Ro holding the Fort while I was away. Its a great feeling knowing everything is in safe hands and I could properly relax π
Back from a great holiday in Egypt!
We rode a camel- Willow loved it β€οΈ.
Looking forward to get back to it, lots of things to look forward to! Dressage and eventing champs. Willows first show, new sales livery coming in soon! But where is our summer? π₯Ά. Hopefully brought some sun back π
*** Suffolk Show ***
Showing may not be either of our favourite things to do but we had a blast in the ROR Showing class first thing this morning 7.30 in the grand ring.
It was an experience π . Shumba is not the best in warm ups and today's warm up was VERY exciting. I stayed on, JUST π but in the ring he behaved brilliantly even if a little strong, holding my breath wondering if the judge could stop his gallop π«£ " very powerful gallop" the judges words π. Sadly not placed, but we enjoyed ourselves.
Thanks Imo for being super groom and to Emma, Flora Aemelia for making the early start to watch us in the grand ring π₯°
πππ Finn Valley ODE πππ
Yesterday we headed to Poplar Park representing Finn Valley RC, Shumba in the 80 and Dom in the 90. It was a great day in so many ways π₯°π₯°
Firstly finally Shumba got his double clear he so so deserves. Really pinging round the sj and a very straight forward easy clear xc. Was a slow optimum, so ambled from the start, taking wide turns which ended us in a bit of a rushed finish and was just over π. My bad! The dressage was wild. Something about Poplar dressage arenas he doesn't like π€·ββοΈ. I have never ridden such a hot shumba on the flat other than when we were last here for their BE. He's calm at home and been calm at other places, so who knows. Today it didn't matter as he followed it up with a lovely double clear and the team WON! So we're off to the champs π πππ₯³ Well done teamies π
I bought Dom along for fun as he is looking and feeling sooo well. He didn't really get much prep other than sj last weekend, so he was his usual anxious self. But the old man still got it producing 30.2 in the dressage, could of been sub 30 without the army cadets by our arena π€£, made me laugh. Dom will never change! Unlucky pole that prevented us a 2nd place overall and stormed round for a clear, inside the time in the xc. The team came 3rd! π. I had written off eventing for Dom, no reason other than to look after the old boy and he's just such an emotional horse and gets so anxious at events. He's taken me up to intermediate and owes me absolutely nothing. But it felt very special riding him yesterday round the 90. π₯°
Lastly it was great having my top supporter Willow with me, seeing her smile and cheer as I went past gave me a boost. Thanks Flora and Aemilia for a fab day all round. ππβ€οΈπ§‘ And thanks to Finn Valley RC for a great event.
Willow helping to "child-proof" a young pony π«£π¬ for a friend that we've been re-backing over the last couple weeks. Monkey will soon be ready to go home. We β€οΈ Monkey π
*** Missy ***
Flora had a jump on Missy today. And they had a great time.
Missy still looking for a π‘. Can't believe she's not had one viewing yet π±. This mare is great fun and has got alot of love to give π₯°π¦
*** Shumba ODE @Blackwater farm ***
Much improved from the last event, although Shumba is starting to feel and look stronger and jump better, lighter in the contact and more uphill he seems to have grown an opinion about some things ππ. Humouring me atm as I know it will pass. It doesn't suit him π.
Dressage, we finished top half on 33 still plenty to improve on. Unlucky pole sj- the going was perfect at Blackwater ( thank you π). He jumped well. Xc he decided to nap from jump 3-4 jumping out of the lorry Park the absolute sod! Resulted in a 20 and lots of time, he also had a glance off the coffin. But all in all a fun day out!
Off to ladies day with the HBH on Wed to let our hair down π
*** Missy ODE debut ***
Missy did not disapoint at her first ODE. You would not believe it was her first as she was perfectly behaved, first dancing in the white boards too and she produced 3rd best test on 30 in her section π₯³. Rolled 2 poles sj and an easy steady clear xc to finish 9th out of 30 plus in her section.
Can't thank Imogen Simper-Lewis enough for all her hard work she's put into this awesome mare who gets the job done, no stress! Her next rider will be very lucky. We are all incredibly fond of this mare, so home is most important! ππ¦
*** Shumba ***
We snuck in a last min decision to go to Suffolk Equestrian Centre for some UA sj. Lots of people turned up to jump in the rain.
Clear in the 80 and unlucky pole in the 90. He jumped well and confidently. Lots of whizzy ponies so no frillys. Today was about building confidence and keeping in a nice rhythm and popping what was in front of him, no big deal! Mission accomplished.
Thanks support team of Willow and Fordy ππ
*** Shumba ***
You are such a cool horse π and really are looking π
