Games aren't just for fun, but to teach them safety & boundaries too 🥰
1) Ensure your dog has good recall before doing this.
2) Start by randomly recalling your dog and rewarding on the spot.
3) Once the above is perfected, move on to stopping suddenly. Make a little noise but not their usual recall, maybe scraping the ground with your foot so they're aware a noise has happened and stopped. They will check on you, stay still, and do not interact other than holding the treat in the palm of your hand.
4) Repeat above but no treat out. Closed hand & stay quiet. They will come as they're curious.
5) Stop and face the opposite direction, so no eye contact. They'll come. Don't forget to reward.
6) This is when you hide. But you must recall and repeat the same sequence above but alongside the hiding.
7) This is when you just decide to hide and be quiet. If you have practised enough with the above steps, then they will come looking for you :) Don't make the hiding too hard at first and stay on the same track they have come from. Later on, you can make the game more complex by adding things to it!
Remember, every dog and person is different. This is just how I've trained mine, and it works a treat. Enjoy!
P.s Don't you just love how Ellie joined me to hide 😆🥰

Haha, sorry, not sorry, the song came on automatically when editing and it made me laugh so hard 🤣
It really isn't hard to respect other owners/walkers who have a nervous dog on a lead. This lady stopped at the bottom lane and looked worried because I had three off lead dogs. I see her before she sees me and call all three dogs, bob them on the lead, and I see her calm come out... She feels respected, which in turn has given her a good experience with a dog walker.
I walk a couple of nervous dogs, but we have worked so hard on them that we can now walk past other dogs and they're calm due to the training. Even if a dog approaches my nervous dogs, they walk to the side of me and give me eye contact as we pass. I can handle it. But when there is a person with a dog and they actually stop. Give them some respect and space. It took me 10 seconds if that to tally them together and move off to the side to create space for the fellow little sausage dog! What a cutey he/she was aswell 😊

Who doesn't love a ginger cat 😍
Every time I come see this Mr I always have to deep clean his food area as he's such a messy pops 😅
Disclaimer - I am not responsible for the victory dance at the end... 😅
When you finally get some trust from a furbaby that you have been working hard on for several days. Casper & Ava are probably the most timid indoor cats I've ever looked after and definitely taken my time in getting to know them and build trust.
Although Ava looks like she isn't keen on my presence. This is huge. In the first couple of days she would run as soon as I went in the same room as her. Now she is OK with staying whilst I natter away.
The huge accomplishment is Casper surprising me by coming to have a treat. Super duper proud and let's hope onwards and upwards now. Maybe Ava will come for a lick soon.
I'm actually dreading going away and leaving my indoor cats. I've never left them for any longer than two days and people think I'm insane I mean yes, I'm a little bit of a cat mum, but I love animals so much that I even miss my clients dogs on a weekend 🤣
I hope my baby Willow & Casper don't miss me too much and cuddle up to Fran Playful Paws by Frans Dog Walking & Jackie Paws & Puddles ... if he doesn't just force him guys he will appreciate the snuggles 🤣🤣
Thank you so much to all my clients for allowing me to have the day off yesterday. I missed all my babies but boy did I have the best day & night seeing Pink & the script live in Liverpool. My feet are killing today but I'm looking forward to some strolling with the pooches 😅
Probably one of my favourite places to go with the dogs 🥰
I finally have the catio installed!
Needless to say Willow is more than impressed. She has never been this close to a bird and she is fixated. She's been sat here for approximately 3hrs just watching the bird and catching the breeze and warmth.
Casper loves it too but he seems more active and keeps pottering in and out, I think he's just like "Woah, I can go in, I can go out, and I can go innnnn... and I can go out" 🤣
Happy furbabies 🐾🥰
Thanks again to the fantastic Safe Pet Spaces who did this for me and all in a days work. Super happy!

My queen 🥰
The way she hugs into my tummy at the start ❤️🔥 animals are just amazing. You really get back the love you put into them 😊
I don't often post videos as I'm always busy recording for the dogs and my safety as we have experienced some unuly dogs and 100% unruly humans 😅👊 ... So generally, I take a handful of photos and put my phone to record and pop it in my bumbag. You would be surprised at how many incidents I've caught on camera, but I would never name and shame, that's not why I record. I record just in case any harm ever comes to them, and the person can he held accountable, not the dog. As it is never the dogs fault.
I see so many dogs, owners, and professional dog walkers about, and we're all different in how we walk our dogs. I keep groups no larger than 4 because that's what suits me. I believe a good mix within a walk is always best. I usually give a good 40 minutes exploring different routes within the woods and always find some rivers or fields. I play ball with the dogs that play nicely with the ball and play stimulating games like "hide & find the treat", so if you see me acting shady in an area it's usually me hiding treats with my dogs eagerly on lead waiting to search an area 😅
Your dogs will be tired from exercise & stimulating play. I'd say 90% of the dogs I walk tend to prefer exploring and having company rather than running around crazy playing with each other, but I do mostly walk older dogs that are well trained. This is just something that's naturally taken the course of my business. Of course my dogs play together, and usually, when a field is in sight, that's when zoomies sets in 🤣 but I'd say most of the time my dogs just love having their friends side by side and exploring the great outdoors with their auntie micky.
I am a lucky dog walker 🐾💗
Genuinely love my "job" 🥰
Whenever I have a poor experience due to other people and their dogs having little to no control I just remember what I do... I don't just walk dogs. I lead them and I truly do have the biggest passion for their wellbeing and safety and ensuring they're always happy & safe. Not a single day goes by where I don't just walk with my gang and not think "This was the best decision I ever made"
For anyone that doesn't know me or my story. I became a single mum 4 years ago after 15yrs, my business was pretty much sunk by covid and things were generally quite bleak. Deciding to be around animals who I love was the best thing ever but boy was it a scary leap... I'm so glad I kept at it and nurtured my little business. Yes I still have a way to go, but I'm humbled and so fortunate to have the best dogs and their pawrents part of my team 🥰 thank you for always staying loyal and trusting me with your paw family members ❤️
Onwards and upwards 🐾🐾
Sorry not sorry Baxters parents 🤣🤣 he has me creasing every time!
When you are admiring your dogs in the river having fun and kneel down to not realise your bumbag is open and phone flops out... rolls down the banking and into a current. Bye bye phone 🤣🤣 I decided it was doable to get said phone and didn't realise how deep it was. Right upto my waist. Next time I'll get a branch and try wacking the phone to the bank.
The funny thing is Daisy and Beau kept trying to get it for me and when I went in for it they must have thought it was fantastic!!! Auntie micky has come to play 🤣
My Wellies are now totalled and my phone is in a rice bag!
I just can't 🤣🤣 why are dogs just so bloody adorable 💗
Yep.... they sure are cute and very good babies 😊😊🐾
Me and Baxter enjoying our solo on Wednesday.
Some people have asked before "why do you do solos there's way more money in groups", like I'm not aware.. I am aware. I do small groups because I love the closeness I form with the dogs and I can focus on the small rounds I do. But I also love a solo, the connection I've formed with this little guy, along with all my small groups, is amazing. I love our little one2one hikes and we talk all the way. He loves my rambles (I hope 😆) and I love his company ❤️
I think he's thinking that he quite likes his hooman!
Casper you're such a doll 🥰

Lucy being Lucy 😆
Her pawrent said she's mega chilled and timid with people generally but months can pass before I see her again and she's always flying over for bops & boops and then demands we play hunt in the garden. She's a little nutter 😆
I can't cope with how funny and cute Baxter is. As soon as we have finished our walk we do this, it's just a must. I always allow some time got after a walk as I don't think he would forgive me 🤣 anyone else's dogs do this?
