I’m not sure what this says about my sense of humour. But I’ve been in stitches.
Went to PINK concert today with my fellow Gemini friend to celebrate our birthdays. Even the dogs were PINK ready. Amazing concert. What a show.
Anyone else tie their spaniel’s ears back for dinner time? Here are Maple and Pippa tucking in to their new food from Went down a treat.
Morning walkies in the buttercup fields again with Bella, Moses, Nancy, Teddy, Pippa and Maple.
Speck loves to sniff along these days, at her own pace. Nice gentle stroll to let her out to the loo and to stretch those legs.
One of the loveliest things about being a dog walker is seeing the friendships develop within the pack. Here are Pippa and Mable with Nancy looking on. Regular social walks can be so beneficial to a dog’s social development and there’s no doubt about it, it’s gotta improve their quality of life.
Good to see Lua and Rio again today 🐕
Love the buttercups in fields and hedgerows at this time of year. Pip’s looking a bit nervy here as a drone was flying overhead.
My son captured this image last night. I’ve been feeling poorly this week and Pippa has been a great comfort in the evenings. Thank you husband for carrying her downstairs to her bed when you come up.
I thought I’d introduce myself to those new to my page. I’m Anna, I have been a Vet in general small animal practice in and around Derby for many years. Daisy Vet Care is me. Myself and my family share our lives and home with 3 dogs, a cat, a rabbit, guinea pigs and more! I provide a caring, compassionate, mobile veterinary service for end of life care, for pets in their own homes.
Please get in touch if I can help.

I get to meet such gorgeous dogs as a dog walker/sitter. Today, I was lucky to keep Lua and Rio company. We spent a lot of time playing ball outside in the warm sunshine. I hope to see them again soon.
Lots of kisses from Basil and Paddy today and sunshine in the garden. Enjoy my 30 minutes of fuss with these 💕
Nice walk from Carsington to Brassington with these two this afternoon. So beautiful. Need to do this more. Maybe an idea for adventure days out with my pack dogs on a Friday?
A lovely spring time walk shared with Speck 🥰
springtime
One of the services I can offer is house visits/pet sitting. If you’re out for the day and would like your dog let out for a wee and to have a little play and a bit of fuss, I can pop by. I charge £8 for a 30 minute visit. Thoroughly enjoyed Paddy and Basil’s company today.
The start of the walk is always the hardest part - when they’re on leads, all excited and needing a poo!!! But once they’re free in the park - that’s when the real fun begins ☺️
Kaia, Rocco and Pippa amongst the daffodils 🌼 🌼 🌼
Today we welcomed Arlo, a two year old male Australian Cobberdog from Barcelona. A very gentle boy who was nervous at first, but before we knew it, he was initiating play with Rocco and Willow beautifully.
Pippa: “Mum - I’ve brought you “manky” ball and I’ve brought it in the house to play with.”
Me: “Get that stinky thing out of the house. I’ve just played football with you for 15 minutes, now give it a rest.” And subsequently lobs it outside 🤣
Football obsessed Fox Red Lab ⚽️ 🐕
Anyone else got a ball obsessed doggy?

THE GOBSTOPPER
Many dogs will be motivated to pick up & hold an item when greeting people, particularly Gundog breeds, as a “displacement” behaviour, to help regulate their arousal levels. Shoes are the common choice because they are near the door where greeting occurs. This often results in the owner getting annoyed with the dog and/or taking the shoe off them. If no items are available, clothes, hands or arms often end up in the dog’s mouth which is obviously not appropriate, and as with being told off for picking up an item that doesn’t belong to them, leads to emotional conflict - the dog is motivated to have something in their mouth to help them displace their arousal associated with greeting, they get told off, they become anxious about greeting people, which requires more displacement… etc etc!
So find something your dog finds satisfying to pick up & hold & make sure it’s available at the entrance to the home where greetings take place: a gobstopper.
This is theirs to parade and hold for as long as they wish. Some dogs might seek contact whilst holding the item, some dogs won’t want to be touched during greeting (and this is likely to vary depending on who they are greeting) but the rule is to keep hands away from their item!
Spencer Bear is Eric’s favourite. If it’s not somewhere obvious when he greets someone he now searches til he finds it (a great scentwork game for him that also helps regulate arousal!)
Today we welcomed Teddy, a two year old Romanian rescue, a Jagd terrier. Not sure who walked who today, but apart from being a bit of a tugmeister, he was absolutely lovely and friendly. Gave me a little kiss on the hand as I said goodbye as if to say thank you. He will be joining Maple and Pippa every day until his owner is back on his feet.
The Chevin today. We missed you Rocco - hope to see you tomorrow instead x
Some great info on lumps and bumps here
Holbrook on Thursday with Pippa, Maple and Rocco
A beautiful Monday outing in Allestree Park. So nice to feel the sunshine- even put a spring in to the furry paws 🐾
