We were busy cleaning teeth the last few days and have had some amazing results helping some really desperite older dogs who have havent had their teeth done at the vets due to the dilemma of having to have anesthetic and the riscs. Here a couple of photos one shows half way through the process where I have started to remove the plaque from the gum line you can see how thick it is on the bottom of the tooth which was still to be removed , I have included the complete clean so you can now see the full tooth.

Hi the salon is back open, I've had lots of requests for bookings whilst I've been on my travels but think I have replied to everyone or sent a message asking for your availability, I've got 3 spaces available on the 25th july at 8am, 1.45 and 3.30 then more space on Tuesday 29th, thursday 31st left this month. Our salon is fully air conditioned and our bathing area is outside under the cover of shade so temperature wise we are comfortable.

The salon will be closed between the 23rd June to the 9th July for holidays. (We have very limited availability left on the 16th July but loots of soace from the 22nd July onwards so if you have forgotten to rebook please let me know ASAP as these spaces will fill up fast.

Here a couple of before and after photos of dogs teeth we have done today (different dogs) the results have been fabulous. And had a lovley lady in with her 2 Chinese crested dogs in , I've never had the opportunity to do this pony style cut before, they came out out looking quite sassy indeed .

How much hair!! So appollo comes every 4 to 6 weeks for his bath and dry, because the seasons are changing so is his coat , all of the winter coat is ready to come out , it forms tufts of fluff all of the body and if not removed this will turn into a pelt. We did a deshed comb out prior to bathing using a furminator, and also a special desheding metal comb. The remove the dead undercoat we brush in all directions ensuring we comb down to the skin. After this we shampoo and high velocity dry removing any remaining dead hair. Akitas like this one may shed over a couple of months twice a year.

I got all of this plaque off today in one session. We use an ultrasonic brushing system called emmie pet alongside my new ultrasonic descaler which helps me remove the hard plaque encasing the teeth and gum line causing gum disease. The results are pearly white teeth, fresh breath and healthy gums. We reccomend maintanence detail cleans with each dog groom, this can save expensive vet visits in the future. Today we charge £35 for all of the plaque removal, and for maintamence cleans if included with a groom it's only £10 for mini sessions. I've heard from clients that's vetenary cleans are average £350 £500 plus nowdays plus the risk of the dogs especially elderly ones going under anesthetic. On my dog I use something called dentisept which is gel which sticks to the gum line at bed time and keeps the bacteria at bay, I also use water additive called nutripaw which works like a natural mouthwash as certain breeds are more prone to having issues.

Here's Darla who is a boarder terrier. She came in for her handspring, this is for wire breeds , nothing on this dig has been clipped it's all done with the skill of hand stripping to keep her coat waterproof and healthy. All of the wire long hair has been removed leaving a smooth new undercoat leaving a natural finish.

As promised here are some of the lovley doggies we groomed on the run up to Xmas. Thanks to those of you who left some tips and very thoughtful gifts its was much appreciated and I'm very grateful. We are closed now untill after new year, unfortunatly I have damaged my back so taking it easy for abit, I've had some family complications in the last few weeks with my mum being very poorly with a stroke so I may need to reschedule some things next year but it's to soon to say at the moment. Wishing you all a happy new year and thanking you for your support .
