Another two weeks at Dudley's that have been full of more festive pampering. From just bathing to de-sheeding and full grooming - never a dull moment in the salon at this time of year! The festive season is a time where I can reflect on the wonderful customers i have come through my door (four and two legged), and l feel blessed to know you all. As you can see from the pictures, the dogs have all gotten into the Christmas spirit and are ready for the big day in the 25th.

This week, Dudley's has been full of festive pampering,brightening my days with lots of kisses and cuddles. They all melt my heart and certainly look ready for the Christmas party season. I have some amazing customers (humans and dogs ) and i am always touched by their generosity at this time of year. Thank you for another brilliant week in the salon ..... I definitely have the best job.

To my dear customers, this is a gentle reminder that if possible, could you avoid driving onto the close and park your cars on Littlefields. I have been approached by my neighbours again ,about the number of cars visiting Dudleys and that someone has driven over their grass. I have to respect their wishes if I want to keep the business open. Thank you for your understanding.🙂

Warning from Dudley and Stanley.

On sunny days, pavements can often be deceptively hot and will usually be much warmer than the air outside. Dark and dense pavements easily absorb heat from the sun and are good at keeping the heat.
So even on warm days, in certain conditions, pavements can become hot enough to cause pain and discomfort and even burn your dog’s paws.
Although you may think your dog’s paw -pads are quite tough, it’s important to remember that they are still made of skin and can be just as sensitive as the bottom of your feet.
Also regularly grooming in warmer weather can help brush away any dead or excess hair, leaving your dog with a less dense coat - much better for staying cool

Do we really have to post this every year ?

We have a walk early mornings and late at night ,and if it is too hot,then we go without!!
It's always better than ending up at the Vets with burned paws or heatstroke...

At Dudleys dog grooming, we understand how to care for all different coat types, including wiry coats .Our initial appointments allow us to access the needs of each dog and create the best grooming plan. While some dogs have their hair clipped or cut, Rufus had his hair handstripped. This is simply pulling dead and loose hairs directly out of your dog's coat which does not hurt.
By removing these hairs we are encouraging the growth of new, healthy hairs to take their place. Rufus was such a good boy and loved his cuddles. With plenty of breaks and play time we managed to complete all of the groom. What a handsome little boy.

What a beautiful boy, this is Walter, he had his first ever groom at 2 years. He was such a good boy, jumped in the bath and on a low table . He was just a pleasure to groom, and on top of that, he loves having cuddles 😍. A real credit to the owners.

Just recently, i have experienced some customers arriving 20, 30, and even 40 mins late to collect their dogs, 🤔which has led to some rather chaotic moments when other dogs arrive for their appointments. 🐶🐕🐶🐕‍🦺 I always try to send my customers a text ahead of when their dogs are ready so that they are collected on time, and I therefore have time to clean and disinfect the salon before the next dog arrives. I would be grateful if customers could arrive promptly to drop off/collect their dogs and wait at the gate for me to let them in (as per the sign) rather than simply ringing the bell and walking in. As I'm sure you can appreciate, not all dogs get on well with each other, and I need to avoid the risk of confrontation, and you never know their might be a dog behind the gate.
I try to provide a good standard of grooming, but the late collection of dogs affects the efficiency of the business and has become a more regular occurrence in recent weeks. This has gotten to an unacceptable level, and from now on, there will have to be a charge for late collection. This is not a situation I expected to be in, but circumstances have forced me to do something. Just talk to me if you have a problem getting to me on time . Hope you all understand. Kindly Claudia 🙂

I think someone is very tired after her groom. Meet Tilly. Sadly, her owner has passed away😢 and clearly hadn't been able to look after her coat for a while. At the moment she is scared of everything, even toys . However the good news is,she has been rescued by a very good friend of mine ,she is such an affectionate little girl after her check up at the Vets in a few days time she will be able to start a new life ❤️ Thank you Samantha and Steve for giving this Girl a loving new home. 🐶

Lets talk 🐶 Puppy's

Bringing your pup for puppy grooms is a very important part of their training to ensure they grow up knowing that the groom room is a safe, comfortable and enjoyable place to go. It is essential to send your puppy to a groomer you trust so they get the best introduction to grooming, which makes it enjoyable for their future grooms and also prevent matts from a young age💗
These grooms involve an introduction to grooming by getting them used to clipper vibrations, nail clipping, bathing, drying before they start their full grooms🐾
Some breads get a sanitary tidy to ensure their hygiene is kept clean, paw pad tidy as well as trimming around the eyes so they can see. (as well as lots of cuddles and reassurance from your Groomer )
We recommend booking your pup in for their first puppy groom 2 weeks after their second vaccination. Your puppy might need to have 3 🐶 introduction before the first full groom

Pointer Cross Labrador 2 years old looking for her for ever home ASAP. Very good with children knows her basic training would be great if she could go to a family.
