In keeping with our dental theme this week… meet Sunny! Sunny came in for a dental recently and we put our newly upgraded dental equipment to good use! The second photo shows the images we obtain whilst taking dental X-rays- it gives us a radiographic view of the patients entire mouth, including the tooth roots, which gives us so much more crucial information to work with when making a decision about treatment. It could be the difference between extracting and not extracting a tooth!
Sunny came round after to lots of cuddles from the nurses and a snazzy jumper to help keep him warm ❤️

Oral health is a crucial, but often overlooked aspect of your pet's overall well-being. Just like humans, pets can
experience a range of dental problems, which, if left untreated, can lead to more serious health complications.

Look who it is! Who remembers Sirius and Remus from a month ago? They came back for their second vaccinations and have, quite literally, doubled in size! No puppy’s ever too big for cuddles though! 🥰

As we move into the colder months of January and February, the chance of snow and ice increases and therefore you may find yourself heading out on a frosty dog walk more often than not!
Check out our top tips in the picture here on keeping your dog safe when out and about in snow and ice.
Remember, if the weather is really bad and you don’t think it is safe to head out, then there is no harm in skipping the odd dog walk and playing games indoors with your canine companion.

We may already be 9 days in but since January is a thousand days long, there's still plenty of time left! 😆

January marks the beginning of Walk Your Dog Month, designed to encourage dog owners to be more active and ensure their pets get sufficient exercise. It highlights the importance of regular walks for a dog's physical and mental health whilst promoting a healthier lifestyle for pet owners too.

It will not come as a surprise that there are many benefits to regular dog walks:
Physical Health: Prevents obesity and keeps dogs fit.
Mental Stimulation: Outdoor walks provide sensory enrichment through smells, sights, and
sounds.
Behavior Improvement: Exercise can reduce boredom, destructive behavior and anxiety.
Bonding: Strengthens the relationship between owners and their pets.

Have you enjoyed many winter walks this season? ️ Throughout January we will be sharing many more pet care tips, so do keep an eye on our social media platforms.

We’re over New Year and well into January now, so with that I think it’s safe to say we’ve probably all said goodbye to Christmas 2024! Ralph here has very sadly packed up his tree and stored it away again safely, ready for next year! It’s back to reality with a bit of a bump and hoping the “January blues” don’t hit too hard! So what is everyone doing to keep busy and pass the 256 days that January has in store for us? 😆 Send us your photos because we’d love to see them!

We’re absolutely thrilled with the amount of chocolate tubs we’ve collected this year! Instead of going to landfill like they usually would, they will instead be taken in and recycled by a company and the proceeds from this will go to our charity of the year, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. We are still collecting until the end of January so if you have any at home please do drop them in with us. Thanks!

Since we’re still sort of in the Christmas period, we thought we’d share Lucifer here who was absolutely thrilled at being involved in the festivities! Following his toe amputation we sent him home with a very snazzy bandage as a thank you for being such a good boy whilst he was with us. We think he looks fabulous!
