❤️ A Personal Message from me ❤️
As many of you know, I’m a self-employed dog groomer, and I handle everything myself—from grooming to accounting, admin, cleaning, and more. It’s a one-person operation, and I do my best to manage it all.
However, I also deal with some health challenges and lifelong disabilities, which sometimes prevent me from pushing through as planned. Because of this, I’ve had to be strict about reserving weekends and evening as time off from work, including responding to calls, texts, or appointment inquiries.
Additionally, due to my health, the number of dogs I can groom each day has decreased. I simply don’t have the capacity to squeeze in extra appointments like I used to. I need to pace myself to ensure I can provide the best care for each dog without overextending myself.
Unfortunately, I also have frequent medical appointments that I have no control over. With NHS waitlists being as long as they are, when an appointment finally comes through, I don’t have the luxury of picking a convenient time. This means that if I’m unwell, or if I have an appointment, there isn’t anyone to cover for me. Likewise, if my children need me for any reason, I have to prioritize their care and may need to reschedule appointments.
I understand this can be inconvenient at times, but as a small business owner without staff or backup, my health and my family have to come first. In a larger business, there would be coverage for sick days, but that’s simply not possible in my situation. I truly appreciate the patience and understanding from those of you who have supported me through these challenges.
I’m incredibly grateful for my clients, most of whom have been wonderfully supportive. That said, I understand that not everyone can be flexible, and I’ve lost clients along the way because of these unavoidable changes.
Thank you for your understanding, and for continuing to support me and my business as I navigate these difficulties.
