Apologies for the length of the grass at the moment! As you can imagine, with all the rain we’ve had recently it has been impossible to get the first cut done.
However as long as it stays dry the field will be cut next week 👍

The History of The Retreat

I purchased the field, which I then renamed “The Retreat” in October 2016. I had been searching for a piece of land to safely exercise my own five dogs for a couple of years, when it occurred to me that other people would surely be in need of the same facility. I came up with the field name as it perfectly represented what I wanted the field to be: A safe place for dogs and owners to enjoy the beautiful surroundings with no apprehension or worry.

I have over a decade of experience with dogs, having previously run my own dog walking and home boarding service and I have looked after lots of dogs who for many reasons, could not be let off the lead safely, which caused a huge amount of stress and anxiety for the owner. This included aggression or reactivity towards unfamiliar dogs, unreliable recall and strong prey drives.

I was confident that a secure field would be of great benefit to many owners, so I decided to open my field to the public and The Retreat has gone from strength to strength over the past year.

I have developed the field further to include a small lake for swimming, there is now an agility course to enjoy and a small copse over 20 trees which I will add to each year, to have around an acre of woodland within the 7 acre field.
