Beautiful Brucey boy 😍
**Huge thanks to everyone who applied.
Bruce is now reserved pending a successful meet and greet, and is off to live with 2 Mali Cross siblings**
Normally we close adoptions now before Christmas, but with Bruce being so young and a lot of people having time off around Christmas, we've been torn on whether or not to home this boy sooner or later. As it stands, we are going to take applications for him now, and ask that anyone who plans to have an extremely busy Christmas/lots of visitors refrains from applying, just so that he has the easiest transition possible into a new home and isn't massively overwhelmed meeting new people.
So, Bruce.
Bruce is a 12 week old GSD cross (we believe malinois). He came in through no fault of his own, he has no issues to speak of other than typical puppy behaviour.
Bruce is absolutely gorgeous, obviously, and a bundle of love and fun. He's great meeting new people, his house training is coming on well as long as his cues aren't missed. Bruce is currently being left crated for a couple of hours a day maximum, this will need to be built up over time so wouldn't suit a full time worker unless it's a family where opposite shifts are done etc.
He has no problems with other dogs, he's currently in foster with cats and is fine with them until they run, and then clearly in his puppy brain that is chase time. He listens well when told not to, and is definitely a very intelligent, highly trainable dog.
Bruce is great with the 10 year old child in his foster home, but does jump up and is mouthy, so wouldn't be homed with any younger children that aren't dog savvy, with BREED EXPERIENCED owners.
We will ONLY home Bruce to a home that has experience of owning GSD, GSD crosses or preferably malinois. They are high energy, loyal to their family, and grow to be strong, intelligent dogs but need good handling. At this age his is just perfect and we are so excited to find him the most incredible home.
We would like Bruce to be homed with at least 1 other playful, neutered large breed, but would consider homes without a resident dog if prepared to take to puppy classes to make sure he socialises early, and have lots of friendly neutered dogs locally/within the social circle.
Bruce has started his vaccinations and been chipped, and will be adopted on a neutering contract to be castrated when age appropriate (this will be on vet recommendation only and not on personal preference).
He will need to return to our Swadlincote, Burton or Derby vets to be castrated and have his second vaccination.
His adoption donation is £300, this includes all above vet work.
