Thursday 24 to Tuesday 29 October.

We are still on the catch up… the tail end of our school hols adventures and the start of the new term…. We had a wee break from having overnight guests for the first few days of the new term to give Susie Doodle & Nico a wee chance to get their house to themselves for a few days 😍😍

The lovely Cara has been coming for day care since April. We normally do play dates on Mondays but on this week we introduced Cara to our Woodies with Magical Powers ✨. After a cautious start she absolutely loved it 😍 It’s been such a pleasure to watch Miss Cara come out of her shell over the last 8 months and grow in confidence with her Monday Gang pals 🐾🐶🥰

For the last few days of the holidays our sleepover pals were 🐶Lainey 🐶Bono 🐶Bailey & Cooper

Mr Brodie takes a toy with him on our walks every day - he brings it out to the van and goes around all the cages to show his pals before he jumps in ❤️ today he brought his giraffe - it was so big it had to have a crate of its own 😂😂 it was bigger than Mr Timmy 🤣

After mistakingly pocket time-lapse filming half a walk one day 🤦‍♀️ doing actual “time-lapsers” on our walkies has become a bit of a “thing” when we get an opportunity 🐾🐾

💕💔Faith💔💕

We’ve had heavy hearts around here during the second week of our October holidays as our regular visitor, the unique Faithy, No1 fan (or stalker) of Uncle Mike went to sleep for the final time 😔

Faith had just been to stay with us in the first week of October and even then she was still managing to cause her usual level of havoc, and doing her level best to lead young Daisy & Maddie astray!

As she came to stay so regularly she knew all of our walkies and day care dogs, but also many of the other boarders. She loved competing for Uncle Mike’s lap time, latterly with Nessa & Willow; Nessa proving to be a worthy adversary 🤣. She really enjoyed our play dates with the “teenie weenies” Chridhe, Sansa, Cara, Bruno & Timmy, but over the last couple of years she absolutely loved to spend time with our lovely Dusty, who we also lost last month😔 hopefully the pair of them are raising mischief somewhere now 😍.

Faith would arrive at our house, would walk passed me and go directly to Mike and demand to go onto his lap - and would sit there until I would shift her to take her out or feed her! These were my purposes! If Mike moved, she went with him. Everywhere! She sat outside the bathroom and waited for him. Always!

I’ve known Faith’s mum Linda for longer than either of us would care to admit so I know how much this is going to affect her, as well as Murray, Louise & Shaun. Faith was such a large part of all their lives. There was no option - Faith gave you no choice! You did what Faith wanted or she let you know how annoyed she was until you gave in! That leaves a huge hole in a pet owner’s life, and their heart, and it takes a long time to recover. But Faith had a wonderful life and wanted for nothing - and we feel very privileged to have played a small part in it 💕💕

Needless to say there was a few photos to chose from! Hopefully these give a taste of what Faith’s “holiday life” was like.

Sunday 13 to Thursday 17 October.

Start of the busy October school holidays and we had lots of returning guests to stay, who have all “bunked up” with each other before, so it was like an old pals reunion. Chica ruling the roost as usual, despite being the size of all of their heads 🤣🤣

Another busy but fun week with our pals - extra special boarding this week as we had Sansa’s sisters Daisy & Maddie here, which made for interesting times on walkies! The girls are all best pals and see each other all the time, but like all siblings the odd squabble creeps in 😂😂

Faithy spent a good part of the week trying to lead them astray, and the rest of the week on Uncle Mike’s knee😍😍

Gradually back in the saddle after our unexpected side-line 😬 Wonderful to see all my besties 💖

And fabulous to have two of our favourite walkies pals, Mr Buttons and, well it’s only herself, Miss Jura Watters, come to stay for sleepovers to get us going 😍😍 along with frequent visitor Miss Willow.

💖 Dusty 💖

This week has been one of the hardest weeks for all of us here at BIPS. Our darling Dusty, who had bravely fought all of her challenges finally said her final goodbye.

While we are all missing her so much here it’s nothing compared to the loss for Nicola and Craig who are utterly devastated. Dusty couldn’t have wished for a better home and more loving and caring parents (anyone who ever saw Dusty being dropped off or collected from day care by Nicola could testify, even when Dusty was in the finest of health as she would insist on Nicola carrying her from house to car!🤣)

Dusty absolutely loved day care and the company of all the other dogs. Before we left Scentral Park she was in her element mucking about and playing, then wandering and hiding, often panicking myself and Mike to the point of us thinking she’d escaped, only for her to emerge, on her terms, from some strange point. Or at the top of Dog Mountain - and a la her mother’s routine expect moi to traipse back up there and carry her back down 🙄

We are so lucky to have well established groups here at BIPS and all of our walkies and day care dogs know each other really well. As now do the majority of our boarders. Latterly Dusty has been Thursday Gang and out in the mornings and her growing friendship with young Bruno has been amazing to watch. As her eyesight has deteriorated he has practically been her “seeing eye dog” and been a wee superstar,. But her other boys, Brodie Bobs & Sammy are going to miss her too. She was an ever present by Susie Doodle’s side in the early days, especially when she realised Susie’s liking for treats, and that didn’t wane, and she also spent quite a bit of time with Nico. And Uncle Mike has lost his Judge Judy pal in the afternoons 😅

But she had so many other pals along the way - as all these photos testify (these started at 635 by the way😬). She’s been a mentor for Chridhe & Sansa when they joined us, a partner in crime for Pixie on many many occasions, loved chasies with Rhiva, May, Selkie, Piper and Banjo, latterly enjoyed slow walkies with Faithy on her holidays. Not to mention her schnauzer pals Magnus & Dunan - it was always great when they were all together 💖💖

Looking through all the pics has been sad but also uplifting. Dusty, and all the dogs, have had great times together. For Craig & Nicola her passing so quickly is such a shock - we know from first hand experience how brutal that feels. But it gets easier and you can look back and remember the happy times and know that every day you gave your absolute best for your girl. And she was one of the best.

The last photos 2 photos are of Dusty’s final day with us last week; the first 3 from her very first day with us. I thought the snowdrops were appropriate.

R.I.P. Dusty Bin. We’ll miss you - make sure you get lots of turkey chunks and sushi bites wherever you are 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Monday 9 to Friday 13 September.

Another busy week with our holiday guests. Mr Zach left us midweek but Uncle M still had his other shadow, Miss Faith to keep him company, with a touch of competition from Miss Lexi 🤣

An absolutely fantastic week weather-wise! In the gaps between torrential rain, we had mist & haar or hail or gales 😳 not ideal weather for our pics & vids but most of the doggies didn’t care less. Wasn’t Nico’s favourite week…

Monday 1 to Saturday 7 September.

The week of smiles 😃😃😃😃

Lots of extra play dates this week as our walkies pal Mr Brodie Bobs was staying with us and he got a “loud bangs” scare the previous week in the woodies so we decided to do nice quiet play dates for him instead. His black lab doppelgänger, Mr Zach, is also staying with us, and he’s not a fan of walkies at all, so lots of play time for him too.

Our Doodle pal Baxter joined us for our Thursday play date - he’s on quiet play too due to an injury. 😔

With Dusty and her failing eyesight, and Banjo & Buttons recovering from their recent health dramas we certainly catered for all eventualities this week 😂😂 not even mentioning Nico😜

So our boarding doggies this week were 🐶 Brodie 🐶 Arlo 🐶Zach 🐶Lexi and making a guest appearance for one night only 🐶Miss Rhiva Diva Chops 👏👏👏

As we said “adios” to August we finally got some dry(ish) and bright(ish) days for our walkies and play dates this week. Lots of smiley faces and happy doggies in the sun 😊😊

💨 Troublesome Thursday 💨 Thursday should have been amazing festive play date No2 of the week but Storm Pia had other ideas when they decided to pull Vivienne Vivaro’s back door off its hinges 😱😱 Lots of panicking, rearranging (and maybe a few naughty words 😵) later and a swap over to wee van for the hard-cores for a quick trip out in a hurricane & monsoon 😊😊

Our Story

We are Mike and Dianne Keavey, and along with Susie and Nico, we offer home boarding and other pet services from our lovely home in the village of Culbokie in the Black Isle, just north of Inverness.

We provide exceptional, loving and fun care in a home environment for your dog when you cannot be there. Our aim is for you to be able to go on holiday or go to work and not feel worried or guilty about leaving your dog behind.

Susie and Nico are well socialised and friendly dogs. Nico is a rescue from Eastern Europe so we have experience in dealing with the issues which these dogs may have. We have had Susie since she was a puppy, and have had previous puppies too, and we have looked after several elderly dogs with complex medical histories. So you can be assured that if your beloved pet has any special requirements, we will be able to give him or her the one-to-one special care that they may need.
