I think it’s really important to expose young horses to extreme noises as well as other out of the ordinary things.

Where I work we have a leaf blower to clear the yards. Getting Duke used to this noise and knowing it’s nothing to fear is really important, and I think it’s paying off!

Happy Tails Story

Happy Tails originally began in Nottinghamshire, where we offered, dog walking, day care and home boarding. After a good few years of running Happy Tails Nottingham I then became pregnant with my son Jack. The decision to close Happy Tails Nottingham was made and i moved in to working with Fostered Children in South Yorkshire. We decided that the move should incorporate the opportunity to expand the services we could offer and therefore purchased a property with an additional cottage for dogs, a Dog Hotel.

Happy Tails South Yorkshire was born, offering walks, obedience and holiday boarding in the purpose designed doggie cottage.

I myself have had animals in my life since day one, there has always been a dog in my life, from our family dog as a child, a rescue called Perks to now where we own Diesel a rescue (in the picture) and Lightenig McQueen a lurcher also rescued. I have worked with all animals, from cats, rabbits, to larger animals including horses and cows.

I decided i wanted to offer more support and got a qualification in dog obedience helping owners with dogs who struggle in different situations.
