Rabbit Awareness Week 24 - 28 June🐰
Rabbits need annual vaccinations, just like cats and dogs.
Vaccinations protect against Myxomatosis and Viral Haemorrhagic Disease (VHD), both of which can be fatal.
It is recommended to neuter all rabbits. Male-female pairs require neutering to prevent breeding, but same-sex
pairs can fight if not neutered. Female rabbits also have an 80% chance of developing cancer of the uterus during their lifetime, which is eliminated by neutering. There are several health problems that we see commonly
in rabbits. They include: dental disease, gut stasis and flystrike.

👨‍⚕️If you found a lump on yourself, you’d go to the doctors, right?👨‍⚕️It’s the same for your dog.
👨‍⚕️If you find a lump or a bump on your dog, the sooner it is checked out by your vet, the better the chance of a cure.
👨‍⚕️Did you know that mammary tumours are more common in female dogs that haven't been spayed? They often start as pea-sized lumps in the mammary (breast) tissue but can grow large and ulcerate. It is not uncommon for dogs to develop mammary tumours in multiple teats at the same time. There are many different types of mammary tumours, around 50% of which are aggressive, but more even the benign types can transform to become aggressive over time. It is recommended that any mammary masses are remove promptly for analysis, and this is usually curative.

We had the joy of seeing our regular Mastiff, Reggie, in yesterday. Reggie is a BIG boy but doesn't think so! He's the softest and most lovable boy and has huge affection for the team here at Linden House. All the staff love Reggie and Grace especially has a special bond with him.. (only because I think she's the only one who doesn't mind being sat on and drooled on!!) 🤣 Well done for being a good boy and getting your ears checked Reg! 💪
