You win some, you lose some. Maisie is my absolute world and yesterday she didn't put a foot wrong, dancing at the Regional Championships. But the scores were close with just 4% between 1st and last and it wasn't our day. I could have asked no more of her, she gave me everything she could and it felt fabulous. She isn't like some of the more modern dressage horses so she does find the Advanced work more of challenge and sometimes she just isn't "pingy" enough for some judges!
She has an exciting year ahead with lots of plans in place to excel her training with the help of an established Grand Prix rider so I am very excited to see how she looks in a few months time.
As one of my lovely clients said: "we took the best horse home"

Kim Ratcliffe lessons today for Maisie and Tarlock! Mental health is important, we all know that and today proved just why little businesses like mine are so vital to our communities. Our yard was a little hive of activity with smiling faces and laughter from adults, teenagers toddlers and babies!
Some of the horses had an impromptu weigh in with the lovely Catherine Baldock , those who needed to lose had lost, those who needed to gain had gained and those who need to maintain, maintained!
Great to know with good management, routine and consistent care our horses are thriving, relaxed and happy!
This is why I do what I do - my business is small and I value all of the support I get but to me the absolute pleasure comes from seeing people happy with their horses, interacting with each other in the fresh air and doing what they love most!

Delighted to be working with Haddon Training Limited and have Brooke on board with us studying her Equine Groom Level 2 Apprenticeship. Our goal is to work with the local schools and colleges to offer work experience placements and support anyone wanting to start a career in the Equine industry. Any stepping stone is a good one and having worked in the Apprenticeship industry for over 20 years, I am passionate about helping people learn and achieve their goals!

Days like today are what having horses is all about. Fun, laughter, friendship and making memories.

Remember Mida? She has been with us a few weeks now. It took us time to establish the groundwork and trust before we could get on board but I am so pleased with her progress. She is mastering steering and stop and go and will be returning to her owners just before Christmas once we get some canter steps and hacking under our belts. She is the sweetest mare to have around 💖 Philippa Kennington Equine

Due to one of our fabulous liveries sadly moving closer to home we have a space for 1 horse to join us on full livery at GG HQ. Grab it quick before it goes! I am truly lucky to have 2 such beautiful horses. Both have been out between the boards this weekend, Senna gaining more experience at Advanced Medium and Maisie at the Riding Club DTM qualifiers at Medium. Both horses did me proud for different reasons. Senna, always the hot head is now able to cope with the demands at this level without having an absolute wobbly and Maisie has had a few months of on and off issues with abcesses and lameness so to win with 71% with her and get through to the national championships in April 2025 was a real surprise. She felt amazing today and doesn't look so bad either! Thanks to SPILLERS for their fabulous feeds keeping both of these horses and our liveries looking super 👌 As always thanks to my amazing support network and wing ladies, you know who you all are 🧡🤎

Senna was out at Forest Edge Arena today to do an Advanced Medium. Still a new level for us so pleased to come 2nd. Just need to work on a few things to gain better marks for qualifying. Very happy with how 4yo Tarlock has progressed since returning home. He is going to have a well earned break now whilst GG work on our exciting new project! Watch this space for an announcement at the start of August 😉

2 great sessions with Kim Ratcliffe yesterday. Here is Senna just doing his thing. Big plans for this boy this year all being well 🙏 Maisie was also on form once she found 6th gear - no clips from her session but she is doing just as well. Thank you as always Kim and Evelyn Little for hosting 💕
