Friday saw me taking a trip up to the Lakes to visit my lakes group. Super session was had by all even if the weather changed last minute for wet over windy.

We worked on different buts for each handler and dog team. The more advanced teams looked at split trails and decoys (one team had a group of walkers checking the Trail layer was OK as we were finding them! Lovely Zen didn't even look at the walkers ๐Ÿคฉ super star)

We looked at non obvious "paths" and a longer trail for 1 team.

All the dogs were amazing, showing there unique and individual ways of trailing and all making there handlers think

Sorry for the delay from last Saturday. FACEBOOK ISSUE ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ™ˆ

so last weekend I took a trip up to the Lake to see the Cumbrian crew, and to have some all important adventures.

We had 7 dogs and 5 people on the session making for some lovely trailing

The day started out VERY windy the calmed down into a lovely sunny day.

We introduced 1 elderly collie team to the fun of trailing, having recently been homed with one of the Cumbrian crew.

Each team had there own bits to work on looking mainly at working open spaces, aged trails, back trails, contamination, decoys and over all lots of fun.

Lovely to see you all again guys x

There is a growing trend for more people to use adversive tools when training their dogs. I fully support Trailblazers Activity Dogs in there stance against people using these tools on their sessions

As of 1st April 2025 anyone using adversive tools on Trail Chaser Dog Adventures sessions will be asked to remove them from their dogs. If this is refused, you will be asked to leave the session without a refund. This will be reflected the updated Terms and Conditions and we be available from 1st April 2025

Sorry to be businessy, many thanks for your understanding

At Trailblazers we welcome dogs that other sports trainers and clubs may have to turn away. We love offering dogs the opportunity to enjoy themselves, regardless of any struggles they may have in other areas of their lives.

We pride ourselves on being extremely welcoming to everyone too, and our group is full of lovely supportive people and has a real community spirit.

What we donโ€™t welcome, and will never accept on our sessions, are the use of any tools that cause pain, discomfort, or stress to the dogs. We will also not tolerate any harsh handling. This is non negotiable.

The following are banned on all of our sessions

โŒ E-collars
โŒProng collars
โŒGrot collars
โŒCheck chains

If you feel that you have to use one or more of these tools in order to be able to control your dog, then we are more than happy to put you in touch with any one of the local qualified trainers and behaviourists that we know use only kind and fair methods.

We are very lucky to have a wide selection of incredibly experienced and ethical dog training and behaviour professionals in our local area, and they would be able to help you with whatever youโ€™re struggling with. Once you feel confident that you would be able to attend one of our activities without the use of an aversive tool, youโ€™d be more than welcome to join our sessions.

As we said, itโ€™s non negotiable. Itโ€™s not open for debate. These are our ethics and we stand by them. We are passionate about training all dogs with positive reinforcement, kindness, and understanding. Ultimately if you really donโ€™t agree with our ethics, then we are not the right fit for you anyway.

Sunday saw us up at Belton Coffee House concentrating on longer trails for the majority of the teams.

The teams worked lovely taking on a relatively busy environment

Every team was amazing, really worrying hard especially when the sections seemed to go on for long straight sections

Well done teams you were awesome

Saturday saw us out at Woodfield Park, we had a lovely bunch of stunning dogs and handlers all with super smiley faces

I love how any dog working or pet can take part in this.

We even had one dog who who due to an accident is limited in what she can do, but really puts her all in in her own style and pace.

Well done teams you were fantastic

Lovely session today in the beautiful Spring Sunshine, 2lovely teams tackled Woodfield Park

We tackled open spaces, angled starts, high scent articals and working past members of the public (decoys)

Both dogs were amazing even with the extra busy area at the venue due to the sun coming out.

Well done teams you were great ๐Ÿ˜Š

Sunday saw us back up at Edlington Pitwood, we had a total of 6 teams tackling the trails all at very different levels of experience.

We tackled fun hunter trails for 2 teams, trails with junctions, or long straight trails for others. All team took on the challenge of contamination crossing old and new scent from the previous trails.

All teams were fantastic and didn't put a foot wrong, fantastic work guys, now let's pray for the mud to clear up so we can really use the Edlington venue again ๐Ÿ˜Š

Sunday saw 2 sets of teams tackle Woodfield Park, in Doncaster, venue change for the afternoon session due to the weather coming in.

The morning session had 5teams and it was lovely, just the breeze starting to pick up as the morning went on.

We focused on short fun trails with little bits to think about for each dog.

We looked at one dogs first set of delayed starts, high scent articals, working around the buildings, open spaces and surfaces transitions.

Each team was fantastic and took everything in there stride.

One team who is a pottery daisy even strode out today taking all the line as she chased down her hidden person ๐Ÿ˜Š

2 lovely high drive teams took to the trails today at Woodfield Park.

This pair are not for the faint hearted but they blow me away each time they come out to Trail.

We looked at high scent articals, how scent reacts in the colder weather and longer trails in the mixed urban/rural environment

Well done teams can't wait to see you again very soon

New Years eve saw us out at the trusty Woodfield park

4 teams tackled some breezy conditions but it was lovely dry and sunny.

All teams were amazing as always tackling high scent articals, novel scent articals, and tackling the swirling of scent around the buildings.

Each team worked extremely well. And no person was left behind

What an amazing way to finish the year โ˜บ๏ธ

Monday saw 3 teams hit the lovely new venue at Doncaster Lakeside. This set of teams are very unique in the handlers are nearly all guys! One dog is shared by a husband and wife team ๐Ÿ˜

We set to using this urban setting looking at road crossings, open carpark areas, and around the busier contaminated entertainment and food court fronts.

The teams did not disappoint and took to tackling there individual goals really well.

Super proud of you all as always

Sunday morning saw us back at Edlington Pitwood, on a very lovely sunny but chilly winters day. Was lovely to Trail out in some gorgeous winter sun.

We had 3 experienced teams tackle the trails, tackling novel Christmas themed scent articals, longer trails and looking at those very important junctions.

All 3 collie teams were fantastic and really showed us what they were capable of.

Lovely to have you all out and about ๐Ÿ˜Š

Yesterday saw us out in the urban setting of Askam, in the lake District. It was a dreary cold day but it's didn't dampen anyone's spirits.

We saw 5teams tackle a Christmas themed session, tracking down missing reindeer and santa after he lost some of his gifts.

We looked at novel articals (carrots and presents) high scent articals, and working the mix of urban and semi urban environments.

Everyone was amazing and worked on there individual goals. I couldn't ask for more enthusiastic teams

Saturday saw us out at Woodfield Park for 2 full sessions of trailing. We had windy conditions but thankfully it stayed dry and relatively mild.

The second session was a more experienced group of trailers who we tested the dogs ability more around the buildings looking at the swirling nature of scent in windy conditions.

Each team was amazing and threw themselves at the challenge. Some dogs blew wide, other quick checks and they are on it.

Well done teams and thank you for tackling the shortest day to keep the session moving
