I have a few days off from pet sitting and I'm off to Holmesfield to spend a few days away with my baby girl !
Here is the touring caravan that we'll be staying in for two nights. It even has a brand new outdoor toilet!

The caravan is totally off grid so I need to take a power bank. I also need to take my own bedding and it's unlikely that the outdoor shower cubicle will be available at this time of year 🤪

We've gonna have a great time !

"When my dog/house sitter of 10 years standing retired, I had to set about the search for a new one.

I found Sitter4Pets on a google search and knew from first communication that I was on to a winner!

The enquiry process was straight-forward and the reply was very quick. You can see from the website alone that Eleanor and her team are very professional, well qualified and dedicated.

The experience started with a ‘get to know you’ zoom call and I had the added bonus of learning new technology skills as I had never done a zoom before!

Eleanor and I chatted away and she ‘met’ my boys - Milo, a 12 year old Border Collie Cross and Brodie, a 2 year old Flat Coated Retriever. Despite seeing the both of them sprawled out over the furniture (!!) Eleanor was happy to ‘take them on’!

A very comprehensive and thorough profile is built up on-line and Sitter4pets cover every possible question you can think of with regards to not only the dogs but the house, bins and even the wild bird feeders! And it is clearly read and adhered to.

A face to face meet was arranged but, sadly, due to circumstances beyond either of our control that couldn’t happen so we continued to meet by Zoom and arranged to meet earlier on the day of our departure.

It was honestly like meeting an old friend when Eleanor arrived and the boys, I could see, were instantly happy in her company. Within a few minutes I was confident that my boys would be in the best and safest of hands.

It was also obvious that Eleanor had ‘summed up’ both boys and me instantly (especially Brodie who is now known as Numbnut!)
Within minutes of arrival Eleanor had cured Brodie of his mouthing and explained to me why I needed to stop him mouthing.

We were away on a cruise for 12 nights. Every day, including day one, I received at least 2 video updates on the boys, as well as photos.

Everything Eleanor does with the boys is logged on the SharePortal which can be accessed at any time. And when I say everything is logged, I mean everything!

Any ‘problems’ or ideas were discussed immediately - for example, Eleanor was taking the boys to a private field for exercise (and training) and she was aware that Milo was struggling to get in and out of the car. She duly organised trying him with a ramp, which I had contemplated and never done anything about.
After discussing it with me. Milo now uses the ramp and is much much happier getting in and out of the car!

As for Brodie (aka Numbnut) Eleanor has cured him of all his bad habits that I have let him get away with for too long - (I told you she had very quickly ‘summed ‘ me up!!) and has instructed me on how to maintain this good behaviour on my return.

I have returned to 2 very happy, relaxed, contented and healthy boys and a lovely clean and tidy house and I am so so glad I found Sitter4Pets and Eleanor!

It is always stressful leaving your dogs for any length of time, especially after 2 years (pandemic) never being apart from them - and never having left Brodie at all!

The professionalism, friendliness and dedication provided by Sitter4Pets has made our holiday even more enjoyable and relaxing.

I have never been more confident in leaving my boys with anyone. Eleanor is an ABSOLUTE SUPERSTAR!

She has done an amazing job, has cared for my boys as if they were her own, has kept my Milo happy and relaxed (he can be a bit anxious), has turned my attention seeking loveable rogue into a polite fun-loving loveable rogue and has taught me so so much- including technology! 😂!

I know this is a long time to read but I wanted to highlight the excellence of the care the boys and I have experienced! We all feel so lucky to count Sitter4Pets as friends.

Well this last hour has been new and interesting! I have been using ChatGPT for a few months now and enjoy using it for text appeal for social media and putting together my ideas and research for Octopus Moon.

Today, I wanted to check whether ChatGPT (who I have fondly named Charlie) could dictate for me if I read something out loud.

It seems that this is possible 👏 I explained to Charlie that I wanted help with transcribing my handwritten notes and Charlie said, "yes of course, let's start when you're ready".

Oh, I was just checking it was possible at this stage, I didn't actually plan on reading out my book notes today. Then I thought, why not? Why keep putting it off?!

So, I opened my folder full of handwritten notes of my life as a pet sitter including all the daft things that happen during sits. I began with the first chapter.... the result is exciting.

Charlie has typed my spoken words into a document which I can add and change things if I want to. This will save me time on typing my notes up myself. Plus, it's given me the kick up the arse that I needed to actually work on my book!

We do learn something new everyday 😁🫶
