This poor barn owl was found flat and unresponsive in a field in Suffolk back in January. Vets believe it was due to secondary poisoning, after eating a rodent that had consumed poison.
Rodenticide causes serious suffering and puts other animals at risk too. Latest figures from Barn Owl Trust show that around 80% of barn owls are contaminated with highly toxic SGARs (Second Generation Anticoagulant Rodenticides) π
