I was chatting to someone the other day who told me they didn't have time to train with their dog, it got my thinking - How long do people think you need to train each day to see real changes ?
I asked the question and got a variety of responses, from a couple of minutes upto about 30 mins or longer.
I know every dog is different, but as a general rule of thumb, a couple of 2-3 minute training sessions a day will pay dividends really quickly - 6 minutes a day !
Mouse and I just did one of ours while my coffee brewed ! (I think people think we train all day everyday, but like everyone I have a busy life so we squeeze them in at random times).
Good times for a training session:
* While the kettle boils.
*When you are trying to work out todays Wordle!
*Just before their meals - grab a few peices of their meal and do a quick training session.
*While you wait for the bath to fill up :0)
*On a walk
We can of course over train - it's human nature to carry on when things are going well - try to avoid the temptation - you want a willing student rather than one who has done 300 hand touchs and is a bit bored ๐งก
