Sid’s feeling very festive this morning ❄️
Love it or hate it, Snow just makes everything look so beautiful. ❄️☃️
Reggie certainly enjoyed himself playing in it! Did you take some pictures of you pets in the snow? We’d love to see them!

Like us, our pets are now living longer than ever, thanks to advances in veterinary medicine, nutrition and overall care. Sadly, ageing sometimes comes with medical conditions such as degenerative joint disease (DJD) or osteoarthritis.
Here is Loki, he suffers from DJD of the spine. With a mixture of the right medications, laser therapy, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and lots of love from his owner and us! He can remain as comfortable and mobile as possible. 🐾

Firework season 🎆
Firework season is upon us, which can cause stress, anxiety, and even aggression in pets.
Our reception team have made a handy display showing the various products we have in stock, including Pheromone sprays and diffusers which can help ease pet stress and anxiety. Try placing a couple around the house - these can be a good way to keep nervous pets calm.
You’ll need to do this at least a couple of weeks ahead of fireworks night for it to take effect.
For more information, your vet will be able to help you choose an option that best suits your pet.
Laparoscopic spay.
DISCLAIMER *Please be aware the video attached to this post may not be suitable for all viewers.
Today we wanted to show you one of our vets, Valentin, performing a laparoscopic (or keyhole) spay on a lovely girl named Mills.
This is a less invasive technique we use to neuter female (and sometimes male) dogs, with a quicker recovery, fewer stitches and less discomfort for your pet.
What are the main differences?
We make two or three smaller holes rather than one large hole. Fewer stitches on the outside meaning less for your dog to bother and cause problems with. We only remove the ovaries, meaning there is less trauma and less pain for your dog.
If you are interested in having your dog neutered using keyhole surgery, please discuss it with one of our vets at your next appointment, and they will be happy to give you more information.

Welcome to day two of exciting news about our new CT scanner.
Throughout this week we are giving you an insight into why CT is such an important tool in how we investigate some conditions your pet may have. Stay tuned for more throughout the week.
Does my pet need an anaesthetic to have a CT scan?
Most of the patients we see will need an anaesthetic for their CT scan; this is so that they keep perfectly still during the scan - it's like getting motion blur on a picture, it will just make detail harder to see and when it comes to CT, detail is key!
💚 Rabbits don’t do well in cold weather, and snowy conditions can put them at risk. Unlike other small animals, rabbits don’t hibernate so keeping them warm, dry and protected from the elements is crucial.
As the temperature decreases we thought we'd share a few tips on looking after your precious bunnies:
🐰 Raise the hutch off the frozen ground.
🐰 Invest in rabbit friendly heat pads.
🐰 Don't use blankets, they freeze!
🐰 Keep the hutch warm inside with extra layers of newspaper, extra hay & straw.
🐰 Fill a cardboard box with straw they will love snuggling into this!
🐰 Check and refresh their water bottles regulary as they can freeze. Insulated bottle covers can help prevent this.
🐰 Rabbits need more food in order for their bodies to keep them warm in cold temperatures.
🐰 Check on them more frequently in the cold weather.
Please visit our website for more infomation on keeping your rabbits safe in the cold. For any immediate health concerns please call us on 01305 262 193 💚
