Good morning, everyone!

As you may have noticed, there have been a few weeks of radio silence here on the Flyte so Fancy page due to gremlins lurking in the system that have prevented us from uploading anything but text posts.

Unfortunately, we haven't been able to fix the problem so far, so if you'd like to keep up with the latest news and shenanigans from around the site, head on over to our Instagram.

Because if it's going to be as beautiful weather-wise as it is today, then we're in for a great weekend!

Lovely quick delivery from Flyte So Fancy of some poultry water supplements and some new egg box labels ! Will be placing another order for some more egg boxes and labels soon, certainly my go to place for ordering almost everything I need for the girls!

A little insight to what we do with our hens.

The rescues as soon as they arrive get poultry supplements in their water and if they look extra poor they get some poultry power drops ! The girls then get supplements once a month for a few days at a time to help with anything they need.

Our Epsom salts are used to bathe poorly hens, usually egg bound, wounds or anything similar.

Hibiscrub for any deep wounds, they get syringe cleaned, we usually have silver spray on here too but I’ve ran out!

And at the back we’ve got some egg and shell support which goes over their feed, I rarely use this as they aren’t overly big on it, they prefer the Enhance liquid that goes in their water.

Our hens also get their egg shells fed back to them, they get washed out and put in the oven for 10 minutes to dry and harden, then they get crushed into small pieces, we’ve done this since we first got our hens and I really believe it makes a difference to them all.

The good news we've all been waiting for has finally arrived - Mandatory housing measures for poultry and captive birds will be lifted from 00:01 on Tuesday 18 April 2023! 🙌🙌🙌

Biosecurity measures will remain in force as infection risk is still high, but from next Tuesday eggs laid by hens with access to outside range areas can return to being marketed as ‘Free-Range’ eggs.
