Dargate Dogs

Dargate Dogs One to one grooming for your dog: your pet will receive the best of care and you can be sure that you are leaving your pet in gentle and experienced hands.

It’s with great sadness that I have to announce that Dargate Dogs is closing with immediate effect.
As most of you know, I sustained a serious injury to my right shoulder at the beginning of November. I have some improvement in mobility , but not enough to resume grooming. The medics still have not decided what to do with me, and if surgery is required , it will be 18 months before I am in a position to groom again.
I would like to thank all of you for your custom, friendship and support over the years. Take care.

Hello, Happy New Year to you all!!
I go back to see the Consultant on the 24th and then he will decide what to do as there is little improvement. I think his reasoning was to see if pure rest would have an effect… I think I’m heading towards an op to sort it out. I will, of course let you all know as soon as I can about my return. Missing all my lovely clients and their furries!🥰

Throughout December I’ll be posting our very own Autism Advent Calendar, where each day I’ll be revealing a little something that the world needs to know about autism 🎄⁣

Day 20: Autistic Adults⁣

Autistic children become autistic adults, and they need support too. This might vary, from support with employment and education, to help with life skills and day to day living. ⁣
Autism doesn’t just end at 18, so neither should the support a person receives ⁣

A recent report by the National Autistic Society found that 71% of autistic adults in England aren’t getting the support they need 😞

Day 21: Autism and School

School can be a difficult place for an autistic child. The environment can be overwhelming to the senses, and the social interactions challenging. There’s different rules and expectations to follow, changes in routine, and often a lack of understanding and tolerance. In the right setting, with the right support, school can be life changing

Latest statistics in the UK suggest around 70% of autistic children are in mainstream, with the rest in special education.

But less than half of autistic children are happy at school, with 74% saying their child’s school place does not fully meet their needs.

There are huge battles to get help. 57% of families are waiting more than a year, with 26% waiting over three years. 2 out of 5 families are refused an Education Health and Care Assessment to try and access support.

This leads to many autistic children either out of school because their current setting cannot meet their needs, or without a school because the right settings are oversubscribed.

Something needs to change 😞

Day 11: Multiple Diagnoses (Comorbid Conditions)⁣

Many autistic people have multiple medical conditions, such as Epliepsy, ADHD, Dyspraxia, OCD, Tourettes, Fragile X, or Sensory Processing Disorder. Sometimes these conditions can be difficult to determine, but in doing so the right support can be identified, and quality of life improved ❤️⁣

As an example, Jude is autistic and has diagnoses of Global Developmental Delay, and Anxiety Disorder. Tommy is autistic and also has diagnoses of ADHD, Tourette’s, and Anxiety Disorder 🙃❤️

Im sorry to have to tell you all that im currently unable to groom your pets due to a serious injury to my right shoulder - im right handed!! It seems i will need surgery to repair a ruptured Deltoid muscle.i go back to see consultant next week. i will, of course, keep you advised, but its highly unlikely that i will be doing any grooming in the near future. I am sorry for any inconveience - I can assure you its hurting me more financially than anything else!! I will return as soon as I can, and wish you all many blessings over the coming weeks.xx

We are deeply saddened by the passing of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
She devoted her life to our country and worked until the very end. She leaves behind an incredible legacy.
