Some dogs (not all) really appreciate a warm coat to keep their muscles comfortable, particularly if they are short haired. Make sure the coat is well fitting though without restricting their movement!

2. Cover those slippery floors
3. Limit access to stairs
4. Use controlled exercise that we talked about
5. Use steps or ramps for in and out of the car
6. Reduce calories if your dog is on reduced exercise

My velvet bear passed his first level of scent detection with the Surrey Dog Training Company! I’m not going to lie, it’s been blood sweat and tears to stop him eating the hides when he found them but finally our team work has paid off! Even if you don't see your dog slipping, there are constant "micro slips" occurring. Micro slips stress and strain your dogs musculoskeletal system!

Is your dog carrying some extra "timber"? Most dogs exercise less during the winter months, make sure you reduce their food accordingly.....
