Last week, the President of the PDTA, Steve Courtney, was called upon to provide information on the inquiry into approved charitable organizations operating under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1979 at NSW Parliament.

Among these organizations, the RSPCA and AWL are predominant.

It is regrettable that the general public perceives the RSPCA as the ultimate saviour of all animals.

However, this has shifted over time. It appears that their focus has shifted towards garnering donations and enforcement, which in turn generates revenue.

While this approach is not unusual for a business, it is not ideal for a government-funded charity.

The PDTA is highly concerned that the RSPCA is encroaching upon the realms of dog training and behaviour modification.

They provide guidance and direction on training methods, training aids, and tools that they have insufficient knowledge about. In the past, they have advertised nearly 70% of euthanasia in dogs that did not respond to their preferred training programs.

We strongly advise individuals to avoid following such advice, which has a high failure rate.

This video links to Steve’s presentation, but all presenters can be viewed for those interested.

For anyone who finds themselves emotionally triggered when they hear the word “punishment” when it’s used on my page, I’m using the word in a very specific context.

And while there are many uses and definitions of the word, seeing as this is a dog training page, and seeing as operant conditioning is one of the foundations of dog training, I’m assuming people will 1/ place the usage/definition in the proper context, and 2/ if they don’t understand or are unclear in regards to the usage/definition that they will ask for clarity rather than have a knee-jerk emotional reaction followed by much moral finger wagging and outrage.

Take 5 minutes, Google “operant conditioning”, and study what you find. You’ll be far more informed, you almost certainly will interpret the usage/definition of “punishment” far differently, and most importantly will likely have a far different reaction—one that is intellectually stimulated rather than emotionally stimulated.

TOO MUCH FREEDOM & CRATES
We spend most of our time as dog trainers dealing with unwanted behaviours both inside and outside the home. It’s become our speciality.

Reactivity, resource guarding, separation anxiety, pulling on the lead, excessive barking, jumping up, biting etc are some of the most common unwanted behaviours we deal with.

Most of these behaviours are caused by owners giving their dogs too much freedom, far too early in the dogs development.

Crates seem to be an emotive subject for some people but it really is the best way to keep your puppy or young dog safe when you’re not watching them. It also helps prevent unwanted behaviours from starting.

No one is saying you have to keep your puppy or young dog in a crate for extended periods of time but in those moments where you’re not able to have your eye on them, a crate is invaluable for helping to prevent unwanted behaviours from developing.

Proper crate training is required at the beginning to make the crate a positive experience for your dog. If you need help to crate train your dog, get in touch.

But unfortunately the RSPCA and the force free dog training cult convinced the politicians to ban pinch collars.
Many dogs that were easily walked every day on a pinch collar are now sentenced to life in the back yard. Without this life saving dog training tool the owner can’t control the dog in public and risks a dog attack or been pulled over.
The reactive dog injury and kill count for dogs, stock and wildlife is climbing because of the pinch collar ban.
Neck Injuries from bolting, escapes and deaths have all occurred on the head halti’s but I know of NONE with a pinch collar. Seek facts and truth not force free fantasy ideology lies from the Cult and influencers.

🏡 NEW HOME WANTED 🐶
Can you help? 🐶
Please share ➡️➡️

Benji is 2 years and 6 months old,
Cocker Spanial. A very lovable character who loves playing, running and swimming. He’s obedient. He is great with children and babies, he has been brought up with them since 8 weeks old.
Due to husband's illness and that we will probably have to move to a flat which doesn't allow animals, it is with regret that we have to find him a good home, someone who has the time he needs to fulfil his energetic lifestyle 🐶

I helped Benji’s owners a couple of years ago with on and off lead training, he’s a lovely dog, a real character and of course he’s a crazy spaniel 🕺🏻

Please DM me if you’re interested.

Truth 💣 = dogs are NOT furbabies…they’re predatory animals 🐶

Truth 💣 = dogs are NOT furbabies…they’re predatory animals 🐶

And this is why …

Over 30 sheep killed in “Absolute carnage” attack by two dogs.

One dog voluntarily killed.
The other one sentenced to a life of permanent public lead restraint and muzzling.

Why did they do it?

Because they wanted to and they found a way.

Only one tool on earth is SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN to teach dogs to NEVER want to do it - WHATEVER the circumstances- Then they won’t seek to find a way.

But seconds of startle is considered too ‘barbaric’ for the dog charities, the Kennel Club, the BVA and the government.

THIS HORROR instead, is what they consider to be the most humane, most effective solution to dogs attacking other animals.

Despite DECADES of evidence to prove otherwise.

Yesterday we set off at 5:30am and arrived home at 11:15 pm…to travel to Manchester for the party conference, 100s of responsible, loving and ethical dog trainers and owners gathered to show that we will NOT except an animal welfare disaster if they ban the ecollar 🫶 The government, like Wales government, will have blood on their hands if they do push it through…with might I add…no scientific evidence that would support why they would be banned…the scientific evidence actually tells us that they are the most effective way to train a high prey drive dog 🐶 and that positive reward only training doesn’t work with these dogs 👍

Livestock attacks in Wales are 4 times higher than in England, since they banned the tool 10 years ago, resulting in many farmers having to shoot dogs dead, when it doesn’t have to be that way…as well as many livestock animals dying from shock and horrific wounds in the process.

If you want to see how amazing these tools are just look at the 100+ videos I have on this page of my own dog who relies on his ecollar for his off lead freedom, does he look like he’s having a bad time because he’s wearing it? Please believe what you see with your own eyes 👀

LIFE SAVING VIDEO - WHAT TO DO IN A DOG FIGHT!

To save a child, an adult, another animal or another dogs life….I cringe when I watch these videos of dogs latched onto their target whilst people at the scene try to punch and kick them off…please just choke the dog out and get them off ASAP so they cause as little damage as possible 🙏
