Hi All,

We are going to try something different this time and build up slowly before we think about reopening but we need your support to do this. Everyone has seen now we hope how important it is to support local. With winter coming and mail order both expensive and risky. Why take the risk? 🤷‍♂️

It’s the same old story. Use it or lose it. Unfortunately last time, although we did have a LOT of loyal customers it just wasn’t enough to sustain a shop. Especially when competing against the internet.

So we are going to start without the bricks and mortar and just do deliveries and collection for now whilst we look for suitable premises.

We will be doing our first trial fish order as soon as we have enough subscribers so if you want to join our mailing lists feel free to sign up following the website link below and we’ll do a few orders and see how it goes 🤞

In the meantime we will be sorting through our current dry goods stock and getting lists out for those too.

We need your support to make this work though.

Unfortunately all efforts to try to sell FishMann and keep it open in some form or another don’t seem to be working out.

So over the next few weeks I’ll be finding time to take pics and list what we have for sale. There is a load of decor, food, chemicals, some gravel, a few tanks, heaters, filters, media etc all to clear.

There’s also a fair bit of pond equipment too!

So if interested please make sure to be following this page where I’ll list bits as I get to them.

In the meantime if there is anything you are looking for in particular then feel free to get in touch and I can have a look through to try to list those bits first.

I’d like to thank everyone for their support over the years. We’ve made many lifelong friends and it has certainly been an adventure.

Before I start looking to break down or sell across. Is anyone interested in setting up a Fish Shop on Island. There are a couple of place in Douglas now that would make a pretty good base of operations. Unfortunately I have more than lost the heart for it now so don’t want to set up again.

I’m more than willing to negotiate a vary fair price or even with a decent deposit will agree terms or might even consider a partnership.

Everything is there waiting to go into a premesis. Display tanks, counters, till, display racking and shelving and a huge amount of stock all ready to be set up and go.

Who’s still around that keeps fish?

Is there anyone interested in setting up a fish shop on the island before I start breaking it all up and either selling it in lots or take it across to UK?

I’ve got everything here including Display tanks, shop shelf units, dry goods, chemicals the lot except fish and plants all ready to set up and am willing to negotiate on price or work out a payment plan. Could be a great time to grab a bargain 👍

We now have a full range of our great quality and best priced TMC frozen fish food. We can’t find it cheaper anywhere on the net. Just £2.99 each or 4 for £10

We also have a great range of sizes of Seachem Prime and Stability.

Plenty of Axolotyl Pellets, Adult and Junior sizes too.

We will also be keeping in a range of decor, chems and dry foods as well as emergency electrical Like heaters and filters etc. I will get round to making a list of these and pinning it once it’s all sorted, the shop however will remain closed but you will be able to message order and pick up these items in the future as we will continue to support those customers we already have as best we can.

In the meantime our pop up out in the warehouse will be open as advertised week by week whilst we sort and clear out old stock.

Just a quick one to say thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years and thank you again for your patience whilst we move things around.

I’m happy to say that we will be open This Thursday and Friday 12-5.30pm to allow you to have a look around and see what you need. We still have plenty of fish which have all settled nicely into their new bigger temporary tanks.

It’s still a bit of a mish mash and we can only hold about 4-5 people at a time but it’s something at least 😁

We will not be open again at anytime over the weekends but I will try and keep you all updated week by week as to when I can man the store.

Unfortunately things have progressed a bit quicker than I expected in other areas so I will need to close our store a lot earlier than anticipated.

I will still be available online and will open up an area in the warehouse whilst we clear non essential stock and will advise on times when I can but for now.

This Friday I will be open till 9pm to allow customers extra time to come in and get what you need before it’s all packed away.

It’s with a very heavy heart that I need to announce that I’ve made the decision to close down FishMann Aquatics. I’d like to thank everyone who has supported us over the years. Location, energy prices, staff costs etc are all issues, but mainly I think it’s just time for a new chapter.

I’ve made a lot of lifelong friends I’m sure, and it’s been great watching families grow and each generation coming in to start their own tanks up, although saying that, has made me feel really old 🤔

I’m not sure on a timescale yet but ideally I’d like to close before TT if possible but as you can imagine there is a LOT to sort.

Anyone interested in buying the business as a whole is more than welcome to get in touch and we can chat. I’ll also be looking to sell the stock on the UK and online if there are no possible buyers here.

There won’t be any sale planned just yet but I’d definitely recommend anyone who needs anything, Especially fish as we’ve just had a fresh order in, to come in sooner rather than later as chances are when they are gone, they are gone.

This has been a very tough decision and one I’ve been debating on since Covid but I feel that it’s now time to let go.

Thank you to all who take the time to get to the bottom of this missive and I am sure I will see you all at some point over the next few weeks.

Update: We’re going to be OPEN AT THE WEEKENDS AGAIN 😁 it’s been a tough transition process of which we are finally coming to the end hopefully. Although there will always be work to do in the background the basics are here again.
