𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗲 & 𝗣𝗼𝗽𝗽𝘆 🐾
This lovely duo were found living in a garden fending for themselves. A kind person had been feeding them but after they moved house, mama and daughter came to Romney House. Primrose is a beautiful tortoiseshell cat, around 2 years old. She can be a little timid with new humans at first, but quickly warms and enjoys fuss and playing. Her kitten, Poppy is black and white and around 3 months old. She is shy at the moment which is understandable given the circumstances she has been living in. She can be tempted out of her shell with treats, and with love and attention we know her personality will shine through. Ideally we would like to rehome these cats together, but will consider separating.

“We adopted Basil and Eric from Romney in 2022 after they were bought over from Qatar. They’ve come so far since we first had them at home and we couldn’t imagine life without them now. They are the funniest boys with such big characters! They also love a cuddle…recently with each other also! A bonded pair who we are obsessed with. Thank you so much for letting us love them the way they always deserved” 😊

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 - 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗖𝗮𝘁 😻
Some of our beautiful cats who all need and deserve, loving forever homes this new year.

𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 a stunning, young tortie who gave birth to a litter of 4 kittens at the end of November. She won’t be able to go home until the end of January, once her kittens have been weaned. She is a very confident, friendly and affectionate cat that’s loves attention would fit into a family home well.

𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗼𝗲 is a striking white, male cat with blue eyes. He was living in a multi-cat household where there wasn’t much love or affectionate in supply. Despite this experience, he loves humans and is very friendly and affectionate.

𝗕𝗶𝗻𝘅 is a black male cat who was found in a carrier. He’s a little on the shy side and his recent bad experience has shaken him. He’s a proper Tomcat in stature, large head and a little chunky. He would need a calm home with no children or other pets. His new owner would need to be someone who has experience looking after slightly timid, quiet cats.

𝗗𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗼 & 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲 - a male ginger tabby, and female tortie. Both are 4, and arrived at the centre their owner was unable to keep them any more. They are a lovely pair who we want to rehome together as they’re bonded. Understandably they’re a little confused as to why their surroundings have changed. So can be shy at first, but can easily be won over with some Dreamies then a few strokes.

Bluey came to Romney House as a small kitten with his feral mum, unfortunately they were both scared
of humans. When mum was released, Bluey came into the house to live with a few other cats to see if he
could become friendly. It took one persons efforts for 5 months and Bluey now mixes with other cats. He is content living at Romney and can often be seen outside with his cat family. Once he knows you he is happy to be approached.

Squiggle was born with her umbilical cord tightly wrapped around her paw which meant that she lost it
very early on. She needed a safe place to live where she would be loved and looked after and she has found this at Romney House. As she grew and got bigger sadly there were more very painful, problems with her leg and it had to be amputated. After adapting and learning to cope with her three legs, she now hops to greet new visitors. Squiggles residence and determination is an inspiration to us all.

Success Story Sunday no. 1️⃣8️⃣

We adopted Boo (tabby) and Cali (tortie) back in 2016. Their mum had been rescued by Silvana and gave birth to them and their two brothers at the centre - they are eight years old now.

Both have the sweetest nature and are an absolute joy - we were so lucky to have contacted the centre just as they were born. Cali is the quieter of the two - rather refined and ladylike whilst Boo still behaves like a kitten much of the time - inquisitive and full of energy. They are both absolute Daddy’s girls, whereas I could be abducted by aliens and they might not notice!

They both spend their days curled up on top of the wardrobe or in the radiator hammock (it’s tiring being a pampered puss) and are partial to a little rub of fresh catnip on their toy banana and Brussels sprout.

We wanted to say a huge thank you to Silvana and the team - we wouldn’t be without our girls and think the work you all do is amazing.

Salem came to us as a very wild kitten who would go mad climbing the walls if anyone got too close. Tricky when it came to cleaning his shelter! Silvana decided to release him to be with the other sponsor cats. A huge transformation occured. Now he loves a cuddle, and is always there to greet new guests especially in the kitchen. He’s quite the character now and likes to boss the other cats around.

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗮 🐾
A beautiful, young, black Mama cat. She arrived at Romney with her 3 kittens Patrick, Penelope and Petunia. They are all former strays so we don’t have any background information. Dispite her unfortunate start in life, Petra is a confident and extremely friendly feline. She greets humans with nose pushes and purrs and absolutely loves attention and fuss. She is a delight to be around. She is petite and slim with slightly sphynx like features and striking amber eyes. Her babies are old enough to fend for themselves now, so she is ready to give up her Mama duties and go to her new forever home.

Today marks the final day of the ‘Santa Paws’ campaign.

We’d like to take the opportunity to express our gratitude and thanks to:

Roz was born at stables with her brother Rolo. Their mother was really friendly but her kittens became
feral. Mum and kittens were brought to Romney House. Mum was neutered and re-homed quickly but Roz and Rolo ran away from everyone! We released them into the main house garden with its secure high fence, and hoped they would find the house cat flap, which Roz did very quickly. Roz has now become a friendly cat and loves a fuss and rub behind the ears.
