Barrowby Thunder Rebel will be standing at stud this year and we've held the Stud Fee at £375 NFFR.

Rebel makes a super cross as he's known for his athletic ability, and good temperament, essentially creating a foal that will inherit characteristics from Rebel alongside the traits of your mare.

Connemara part breds are highly sort after offering the best of both worlds of the native pony together with special features of the Thoroughbred, Irish Draught or Sports Horse.

Rebel is available to visiting mares for both natural and fresh semen or for those unable to bring your mare to the stud we can ship chilled semen.

The 3rd mare to foal is a very exciting addition to the stud. Meet Thistle

With a superb pedigree this Class 1 Connemara mare by Lecarrow King, she is due to foal 8th April to a stunning young stallion - Adrigoogle Silver - by Silver Shadow out of a Templebready Fear Bui mare.

Mare number 2 is the gorgoeous Callie.

This super Class 1 Connemara mare is having another foal by Fred (Forinth - Stallion at Stud )

Having given us 3 c**ts (Spud, Goose & Chip) and 1 filly (Sprout) another filly would be nice - and then to think of a name that matches! Suggestions welcome

On the 12th day of Christmas - meet the horses

Last but by no means least is Bobby

Bought 2 years ago as a weanling foal from Ireland this connemara c**t has grown into himself.

He's a full connemara by Pumkins Pondi out of an I Love You Melody mare we're super excited for Bobby's future.

He'll be presented at the BCPS grading in the spring and we're hoping to stand him to a limited number of mares by AI only to start with.

Meet Nugget - Woodbuc Kingsman

By Fred (Fornith) out of Lucy - TB mare

He's growing into a very athletic looking horse at rising 2. The summer out in the dale at Fordon has done him the world of good. I do sometimes say with a yearling you don't need to look at them for 6 months and it certainly has been the case with Nugget as he's starting to turn into that swan.

Nugget is available for anyone looking for a potential eventer.

On the 10th day of Christmas - meet the horses

Meet Flora - Woodbuc Freedom

You won't be surprised to hear that she's by Fred (Forinth) and this time out of Beanie (Western Soliaire)

Flora is not a typical chestnut mare. She has got the most amazing temperament from both Fred & Beanie and we can't wait to start her ridden education in 2025.

Charlotte is looking forward to taking this one one - she's not going to be as big as Reg and Ralph and hopefully a better size for Charlotte.

On the 9th day of Christmas - meet the horses

Meet Waffle - Woodbuc Conundrum

This cheeky gelding is now rising 2 and is by Rebel (Barrowby Thunder Rebel) and was Beanie's last foal- (Western Solitaire)

He went through many changes of colour as a foal and now looks like he's a chocolate dun.

This is the 2nd time we've put Rebel on Beanie - the first being Daisy, who's settled into her new home beautifully. We'd really like to keep this one unless the perfect home comes up.

He's just come home from grazing in a dale bottom with Nugget & Bobby - part of their education and seeing new sights.

On the 8th day of Christmas - meet the horses

Meet Chilli - Woodbuc Hotshot

Chilli was born only 4 days after Charlotte's wedding during which we were on foal watch - thankfully we had a marquee at home so where on hand - and did have several vets at the reception - thankfully they weren't needed that night.

By Fred (Forinth) out of the TB mare Lucy, Chilli is the 2nd c**t that Lucy has given us and we weren't disappointed. This one looks like he's going grey.

With the amount of TB blood and Fred's genes we're hopeful that he's going to make a super eventer and is available to a new home.

On the 7th day of Christmas - meet the horses

Meet Dora - Woodbuc Explorer

This super confident filly born this year is again by Fred (Forinth) but this time out of over height Connemara Sadie, who has lovely breeding including Westside Mirah & Hazy Dawn.

We're hoping that this foal will make 15.2hhs and be the perfect small competition horse. And she is looking for a new home now she's weaned.

Dora is named as because even at a few weeks old she was never worried about leaving her mum to go off and explore other areas of the yard or field.

On the 6th day of Christmas - meet the horses

Meet Lucy - Grey Lady Grey - TB mare

Charlotte was looking for a TB Broodmare firstly for Fred and then for Rebel.

We've had 2 lovely c**ts by Fred (Forinth) so far and she's in foal to him for a 2025 - maybe we'll get a filly this time.

As part of our breeding programme it was important to Charlotte for introducing some more TB blood into the mix but equally we had to have a mare that was level headed and we certainly got that in Lucy.

On the 5th day of Christmas - meet the horses

We give you Goose - Woodbuc Maverick

Goose is one of the nicest youngsters you could meet. He will happily live with anyone - currently in with an in foal mare.

He's the 3rd foal we've bred out of Callie (see yesterday) and by Fred (Fornith) and the only one we still have. He's rising 3 and we're really excited to play with him in 2025 and further his early education.

Ultimately he will be available to a new home but in the meantime he's no problem to have around.

We can see him making a perfect small competition horse - both Sprout & Spud (older brother & sister) have a super jump which we expect Goose to have as well.

If you have space for a Goose in your stable get in touch.

On the 4th day of Christmas - meet the horses

Meet Callie - Tallyho Callie - purebred Connemara

Bought from a facebook advert and collected from Wetherby Services this lovely mare hasn't disappointed us.

Mainly bought as a broodmare we did attempt showing once where she was 2nd in a large class of Connemaras. In 2024 we presented her for her BCPS grading where she gained Class 1.

So far we have only bred her to Fred (Forinth) and she is back in foal to him for 2025.

The foals so far have been - Sprout, Spud, Goose, Chip - so we'll have to see what the next foal with be named - any suggestions welcome

On the third day of Christmas - Meet the horses

Meet Ralph - Woodbuc Forever

This lovely young horse by Fred (Forinth) out of Riverhead Midsummer has given us some special memories this year.

Like so many Fred babies he's extremely friendly but also talented which he takes from both parents.

Carefully produced by Charlie Donald on only his 3rd ever outing he qualified for the BYEH 5 year old final and gave us a day out at Burghley to watch him a very special moment for a truly homebred horse.

He evented with both Charlie and then at the end of the season with Jack Mantel finished up 8th in his first BE100. He's going to give us a lot of fun (and probably some frustration!!!!) in 2025.

He'll go back to Northumberland in the new year to start eventing with an exciting aim for the year.
