☀️ DOG WALKS THIS WEEK!! 🌟

With the weather this week, most days it’s going to be too hot for me to be able to walk any dogs in the day time. I will be messaging all clients the day before to discuss a different plan for your dogs to ensure they stay safe and do not overheat.

I refuse to walk dogs in heat above 20 degrees unless there is adequate shade etc for them. It’s too high risk of heat stroke to them - it’s better they don’t get a walk for a few days then become seriously ill.

I hope everyone can understand - messages for tomorrow have already been send out and I will message everyone in due course throughout the week.

Thank you for understanding. Lucy x

FINALLY!!! Some sun ☀️ and warmer weather 🥰

I’m sure we were all pretty fed up of the cold and rain!

Please remember, as the weather gets warmer to not take your dogs out in weather over 20 degrees. You can judge this on if there is a breeze, shade for you to walk in etc.

Even at 20 degrees, dogs can sustain heat stroke.

Also meet George and Alfie - our newest members who are SO gorgeous and gentle 🥹

Keep your puppas safe 🥰

🐶 I AM FULLY BOOKED FOR OVERNIGHT HOUSE SITS FOR THE YEAR!!!!!! 🐶

This is crazy to say since it’s mid January, but I am fully booked for house sitting this year now. I have no sleepover dates left available. I will post on here if any dates come available due to cancellations.

In regards to dog walking, afternoon visits, feeding small animals (cats, rabbits etc) and looking after horses, I still have availability for this throughout the year.

However, I get booked up super quick (as you can tell 😂) so please, PLEASE message me in advance to book in, especially if you already have a holiday booked.

Thank you so so so much to everyone who has booked in this year, being booked up a year in advance in not something I ever imagined 🥹🙏🏼

🐶 Dog walking benefits 🐶

Barring the obvious of exercising your dog, taking them for a walk has so many benefits for you and them as a pair.

🐶 Dogs like to sniff, it stimulates their mind and is a way of them getting to know the world outside of their home. It introduces new smells, teaches them things and keeps their mind active. Let your dog stop and sniff on a walk!

🐶 It’s a great way of creating a bond, especially if your dog is a little more on the nervous side. Taking them out, talking to them and reassuring them shows them that the world isn’t so scary and they can enjoy it with you. You are their protector when they step outside your home.

🐶 It’s a great way of getting them used to different dogs, people, noises, cars etc. Dogs need to socialise with things outside their home.

🐶 If you are training your dog, doing it outside your home or garden on a walk is great. I walk dogs who are going through training. Even if it’s teaching them how to sit, teaching them basic commands or more complicated ones, doing it on a walk broadens that for them and keeps their mind active.

🐶 Talking to your dog on a walk is a great way of them bonding further with you (and good free therapy for you!)

🐶 As well as exercise, walking them helps their joints, keeps their blood pressure level and helps digestion.

Sully (on the right) would never wee outside on a walk, hated cars and usually found something new to be a little monkey about. He absolutely loves his mum to death. As well as his mum putting heaps and time and patience into him, I walk him 4 days a week. He will now have a wee on a walk, stop for a sniff and listens to me so much more than he used to do. He even lets me do his sit, spin and paw tricks with him now!!

Bonding with your dog is so important ❤️

I’ve had quite a lot of new followers recently so I thought I would say hi 👋🏼

⭐️ I’m Lucy, I’m 25 and live in Driffield, East Yorkshire.

⭐️ I’m a qualified equine physiotherapist and started working with horses when I was 12 years old. I’ve worked with mares, foals, dressage horses, stallions and youngsters.

⭐️ I had a break from animals and got a full time job in an office for 4 years, but realised I missed the outdoors and decided to pursue my career of being a dog walker/house sitter/overall animal carer in June of 2022.

⭐️ I love weight lifting and training in the gym and I ran the London marathon in 2022 (some of your dogs will have participated in training runs with me!!)

⭐️ Being outdoors honestly makes me so happy, Sun, rain, snow or wind, I love being outside.

⭐️ I’ve looked after ALL sorts of animals, dogs, cats, rabbits, snakes, goats, pigs, donkeys, horses, parrots, chickens… there’s not much that I haven’t looked after!

⭐️ My phone has 7,000 photos on…. And a good 5,000 of those are pics of animals I’ve looked after 😂

⭐️ I am a proper crazy cat lady….. not even ashamed to admit it!!

Nice to meet you all!

Just want to say a huge thank you to all my customers for their support this year ⭐️

I have been busier than ever, picked up new clients and consistently helped existing customers too.

I am working up until Christmas Eve and off until the 28th.

Messages won’t be replied to during this time unless necessary, I need a few days off with my family, at home to unwind.

I hope everyone has the best Christmas ever.

Thank you all again, much love ❤️

Swipe to see a snippet of my year with all these gorgeous babies 😍

I had the absolute pleasure of walking this gorgeous girl down the aisle to her parents to deliver their wedding rings 🥹

It was all very exciting to begin with for Daisy, but she soon knew how important her role was and walked down the aisle like a pro!

Congratulations to Daisy’s mum and dad - wishing you all the happiness in the world and a lovely honeymoon 🥰

With the weather forecast for next week, all walks will be changed to pop in visits.

Your dogs safety is my number 1 priority and those kind of temperatures are not safe to take any dogs out.

I will message everyone individually over the weekend to discuss 😊

Enjoy your weekend everyone and be sensible in the sun! X

The newest member…. Sully 🥰

Sully is 16 weeks old, and I’ve been popping in for an hour each day for play time and to give him his dinner.

He is the sweetest boy and hopefully in a few weeks time, he can start having a 20 min walk with me.

His brothers Baloo and Louis have also been enjoying some dinner time snuggles 🥰

☀️ WARM WEATHER ☀️

As much as we love the warm weather when we get it, it’s not always good for our doggies.

Please look at the chart below and decide on a good time to take your dogs out for a walk. Ideally first thing in the morning or last thing at night if it’s over 20 degrees.

Remember they aren’t used to this heat just like we aren’t!

Older dogs / dogs with illness may not even be able to cope in 20 degrees, so please be mindful of this when you take them out. If your dog is very excitable and runs a lot on your walks, I would advise for you not to take them out mid day when it’s the hottest. They will over heat!!

Enjoy your Sunday everyone ❤️

28/04/2023

Sorry for the silence on here guys, as usual you’ve all been keeping me super busy!!!

I have a couple of house sitting slots left for May and July.

I’m fully booked for June, August, September and October with limited space for November.

I have a couple of hourly dog walking sessions left throughout the week, and I can be available over weekends for dog walking / let outs if needed.

Once again, thank you all for your continuous support ❤️

Would any of my customers be interested in rehoming a patterdale x border? She’s a lovely, sweet girl. Unfortunately, her owner’s circumstances have changed and they can no longer keep her.

She is so sweet and loving, very cuddly and has excellent recall.

5* home only for her - please message me if anyone can help!

⭐️ IMPORTANT!! ⭐️

I always ask every customer for vets details for when I stay over, in case I ever need to take your animals for any reason.

This has only happened once due to an existing illness, and the owner had left me very detailed instructions / contact details.

Going forward, I am asking ALL customers who have pets who are on medication/have existing health conditions to PLEASE NOTIFY YOUR VETS that you will be away and it will be myself looking after them, just incase anything happens and I need to take them there in an emergency.

This will be requested by myself on all future bookings, and I will also be asking everyone who is already booked in closer to the time to do this.

Thank you for your understanding!

⭐️ Here are some answers to some frequently asked questions ⭐️

1) Do we need to buy food in for you? - Nope! I bring my own food with me. If there is anything in the fridge that will go off then I will use it up, but please don’t go out of your way to get things in for me!

2) Can our dogs come to your house? - Unfortunately not. Plus I prefer to stay at yours with them so they are in their own environment still and someone is keeping an eye on your home!

3) Can you put our bins out? - Absolutely! That is part of the service with me being at your home. I can pop bins out, collect post, water plants in summer, accept deliveries etc.

It’s not just about looking after your animals, it’s looking after your home too 😊

I ensure the house is clean and tidy when I leave (I have had comments before that the house is cleaner then when my customers left! 😂) and if you need me to get some basics back in for you like bread and milk, I am more then happy too.

If you have anything you specifically would like me to do for you, please just ask.

Happy home, happy animals, happy customers 😃

I’ve had a lot of enquiries in regards to group dog walks recently. This is something I do not offer for a few reasons.

1) A lot of my customers have dogs which aren’t great with others or are reactive in some way. I prefer single house hold walks so your dog can get the full care and attention they need if they do have any issues (behavioural, reactive, nervousness etc).

2) I don’t feel comfortable walking lots of dogs in one go. They all have their own personalities and can have off days too just like humans, and your dogs safety and my safety is priority.

Another point I would like to make is that I don’t let dogs off the lead unless I am 150% confident and comfortable that the dog listens to me and comes back, especially since a lot of the walks I do are accessible to the public. The last thing I want is for a dog to decide they don’t want to listen to me that day and run off into the sunset! This doesn’t mean that they don’t get exercised properly, just means I get a good workout too! 😅

I am happy to take your dogs to the dog park if you would like them to have a good run round - please discuss this with me if it’s something you would prefer 😊

I hope everyone can understand my reasoning - I don’t want any drama or accidents. Just a nice, happy walk with your gorgeous babies 🐶
