Jordan Bear Charity is a voluntary, charitable organisation dedicated to the Rescue, Rehabilitation and Re-homing of Abandoned Greyhounds & Lurchers. At any one time, in this country, there are upward of 30,000 'unwanted' Greyhounds & Lurchers. Many of these will be ex-racing dogs who have been declared 'surplus to requirements' for various reasons - mostly, that they are not winning their owners
enough money; others will have been bred for hunting or coursing but prove to be to gentle in nature for the work required of them.
'Unwanted' ex-racing dogs will often be dumped and left to fend for themselves and many will have had their ears mutilated, or even removed, in an attempt to hide the tattoos which could be used to identify their owners or kennels. Jordan Bear Charity works tirelessly to rescue as many of these gentle, intelligent dogs as is possible and find them warm, loving 'forever' homes where they will know no fear, hunger or pain. Our fundraising strategy is simple, straightforward and very effective:- We accept those items you no longer want or need - and we sell them on at our various weekly functions; the money raised is then used for the Rescue, Rehabilitation and Re-homing of the dogs that pass through our hands. We accept any Clean, Saleable items for our fundraising - especially: Clothing, Linen, Shoes, Handbags, Toys, Games, Household Goods, Kitchen Accessories, DVDs, CDs, Records, Audio, Electrical Equipment, Computer Equipment & Accessories etc................... We also appreciate donations of Unused Postage Stamps, Stationery, Office Equipment etc to help us avoid any unnecessary administration costs - as every penny saved helps to save another life.. All Financial Donations, however small, are always most gratefully received - and acknowleged - please make cheques payable to: Jordan Bear Charity Thankyou
