Yes, yes, and yes! Working with animals comes with a HUGE amount of responsibility. It doesn’t matter if you’re a groomer, boarder, house sitter, walker, veterinary care assistant, veterinary nurse, veterinary receptionist, veterinary surgeon, cat sitter, hydrotherapist, physiotherapist, holistic therapist, I know I’ve not included everyone and please do not take that personally! As you are ALL so very very important to the health, welfare, and wellbeing of our pets.

Your job, whatever your role, plays a massive part in that pets life. It is not a hobby, it is not an easy option, it is a choice, a vocation, a calling to care for pets who are often the most important part of somebodies life! That means you have to do your best and be your best by learning as much as you can, and realising that you should never be undervalued.

In many people’s lives their pets are one of the most important, sometime the most important. Your work, your care, your dedication, is worth everything.

So the next time someone thinks your job is just cuddling animals, remember this post. Cuddling is lovely, but your job is so much more than that ❤️

Tuna and scrambled egg is always my choice of diet for a pooch’s upset tum, and with the owner’s permission, a dose of probiotic paste added in. Works a treat if it’s nothing serious, if that doesn’t clear it up then it’s a vet check to rule out anything more serious.👍🏻

Lots of writing on a slide but lots to say!!!

Bland diet = chicken and rice and has done since before I can remember… 25+ years working within the veterinary industry and this is ALWAYS the advice.

But we know chicken allergy is a thing for dogs! Their diarrhoea may get 10 x worse when fed it. We know rice isn’t very well digested by dogs, we know we can do better, but we still spout off the same advice like a cold wet nose means they’re healthy, because it’s comfortable and been around for ages!

Let’s change, let’s move forward and be better together. Because that means we will do better for our animals. I have more tips to share tonight that’ll hopefully break the comfortable mind set ❤️

Following on from my earlier post, it looks like the original post was taken down.

It looks like the OP has taken the shared post down. This could be because of how far this has been shared and they want to mourn their pup in peace.
A little content of what the OP was. This was about a 10 week old pup who contracted Leptospirosis after coming into contact with contaminated flood water in their own garden.
Leptospirosis is a bacterial disease that is spread through urine. It can affect any mammal (including humans).
Dogs can catch it from running in, swimming or drinking contaminated water.
Although vaccination greatly reduces the risk, there are several strains of the bacteria. Dogs that are vaccinated have a far greater chance of surviving should they be infected.
The Leptospira bacteria can affect the organs, particularly the Kidneys and Liver causing jaundice and organ failure.

Lovely week with Lottie-Loo (aka Conehead!)🤦🏼‍♀️ Not long before we’ll see her again.💖💖💖
