Housekeeping notice:
Please be aware I was unfortunate enough to get bitten by a dog yesterday with no warning from individual dog, which meant today I have had to cancel all appointments and take a trip to A and E so loss of earnings here today the bite was quite nasty, but thankfully on mend now. Please let us know if your dog may need a muzzle or has certain quirks no matter how small our job is high risk and we pride ourselves in building a bond with your pets. Dog groomers are great at reading dog body language but it makes it easier for us if you can let us know any history. Thank you 😊

Please note any dogs coming in with fleas will be treated with a flea bath with an additional fee. Don't forget to keep on top of flea treatment with the mild weather we are experiencing this winter fleas are able to continue their cycle. Thank you

I'd like to take this opportunity to firstly thank my Colleague and true Friend Lisa for accommodating me and some of our Hudson's clients at Drybrook Salon this month all went really well 😊

Information post

As seasoned experienced groomers,each with over 10yrs+ experience/knowledge we here at the salons, Drybrook and Hudson's are committed to ensuring a healthy coat for the duration of your pets lifetime. We are often asked to clip down coat types that should never be clipped, especially through the summer months. We will always decline to do this without exception. We have extensive knowledge of how 'bad grooming practices ' can effect your pets coat over it's lifetime. What may look 'cute' in the moment will effect your pets coat long term if it has been groomed incorrectly to type. Issues later in life such as coat thinning, coat funk and black skin disease. Please see stock photos below...
With grooming being an unregulated industry we are seeing more coats with issues through our doors, largely down to previous grooming errors, particularly over clipped or stripped coats. If a coat has been previously damaged it is rare to restore it to its original condition. Due to our extensive experience with such issues we are able to attempt to help repair the damage and ensure no further damage but we are unable to reverse it completely.
Here at our salons we pride ourselves in providing the very best care of your pet, not just it's coat health,and style, we provide consistency, familiarity and comfort as well as quality.

As many of you know we here at Hudson's and Drybrook Dog Groomers are huge supporters of rescue. There are so many amazing rescue organisations but we choose to support our local dog rescue Forest of Dean Dog Rescue right here in the forest of Dean.
We are always happy to receive donations for the rescue,which can be dropped off at either salon and will be delivered directly to the rescue by ourselves.
Donations of dog food are particularly welcome at this time of the year.

Dear Valued Customer

Change to Business Hours
As of January 2024, Hudson’s Dog Grooming will be Temporarily Closed for Approximately 4 to a maximum of 6 weeks due to Personal Circumstances.
On my return in February the Salon will operate Mon Tues and Weds only. Customers requiring a Thurs or Friday are welcome to book a slot at Drybrook Dog Grooming with Lisa. Her Tel Number is: 07707 051520. (Subject to availability)
Urgent January appointments should have been given appointments at Drybrook.
All regular dogs will be offered two appointments rolling over at either Hudsons or Drybrook depending on availability. Unfortunately those that prefer to ring for an appointment to suit might not get in at our busy periods but we will of course try to accommodate.

Polite Notice

🐕 Information for customers
We would like to remind customers that payment for service is required upon collection of your pet. You are able to pay by cash or card in the salon when your pet has been groomed and is ready to go home. Regretfully we are no longer accepting Bacs payments as a valid method of payment for services. This is unfortunately due to non payments of service 😞 Of course we realise this is thankfully a minority but to reduce the risk of non payment we have collectively decided to no longer accept this method of payment.
Existing customers who prefer to pay via Bacs can request a payment link to be sent via their mobile phone which can be paid prior to collecting your pet.
Here at Hudson's we feel very sad that we have to say this, we value all of our clientele both human and canine. As we are a small independent business with rising costs we simply cannot take the 'hit' of non payment. We as groomers are self employed and this has a direct impact on our earnings and the business as a whole. It is our desire to continue to provide you, our customers with the highest quality of service,using high grade products and devoting ourselves to your pets comfort throughout their time with us here in the salon.

🐕Reminder of existing policys for both Hudson's and Drybrook Dog Groomers.

In the event of a cancellation/reschedule of your groom we require 48hrs notice. This is to give us a chance to fill the open appointments. A small fee will apply if a cancellation is made with less than 48hrs notice.

No shows/failure to attend a pre-booked session will result in the entire value of the groom being required before a rebooking can be made

We reserve the right to refuse service.

Of course we understand life happens,life gets in the way sometimes and are naturally open to conversation,if you are having issues relating to attending your groom or any other issue with your pet please let us know. We are here to help🙂
