🦐 Livefoods provide an irreplaceable aspect of fish keeping that you won't get with dry goods. The fantastic reaction you see from fish when they have to chase their food.

🍽️ Foods such as tubifex, bloodworm and daphnia are used to condition fish before encouraging them to spawn. Tubifex for Corydoras species and daphnia for a range of free-swimminh schooling fish!

Brineshrimp, daphnia, and tubifex - £1.30 a bag or 5 bags for £6.00
And river shrimp - £2.00 a bag.
Sadly no black worms or earth worms this week.

Discus are not a fish we specialise in, but a species we'll happy get hold of when requested!

Discus are found in the warmer areas of the Amazon, with wild temperatures being measured around 27.5°C, pH values of 6.2-6.8 and a kH of around 4, making captive keeping a little awkward however captive forms are a tad more malleable, comfortable in a slightly broader range of water conditions.

A customer of ours is new to the world of discus and after a good chat on a few visited to our store, he decided that he wanted to try keeping discus and we were happy to help!

Discus take a little more care and dedication than your run of the mill species but with a bit of extra time spent they can be an incredibly rewarding species to keep.

These have been with us over a week, and will have a bit more time before we are willing to let them leave us.

Morning everyone.

We're expecting a fair few deliveries today to top up deleted shelf space, empty plant tanks and of course, our weekly livestock additions.

First up should be aquatic plants and Superfish products 🌱🌿

Next we're expecting either pond foods and dry goods, or a mixed dry goods order from our main wholesaler. 📦

And a little later on we're expecting livestock! 🦐🐟

We'll keep you updated as we go, as always!

I've filmed a little bit of footage in the shop, will be getting a little more this week before I put together a short yet Informative video on the Genus of Pangio!

You may notice some changing to packaging and appearance of the product from Tetra UK foods soon 👀

Having had a good chat with our area rep lately, he explained that they're removing artificial colours and antioxidants, duplicate products and pushing towards more natural ingredients. This will result in less vibrantly coloured foods. This should not effect your fishes response.

Packaging is also being updated, well over due we think!

50 Years

We started up in 1968. In a small shop( over the road from where we are know ). We then built this building, and slowly built it up over the years. It’s know in it’s 3rd generation of family member. We stock a wide range of dry goods for fish tanks, and ponds. From filters, heaters, decoratons, food, and treatments. We give free water tests and also with our 50 years of experience we offer a good range of advice, for new fish keepers and the more advance fish keeper. We also stock cold water, pond and tropical fish, Plus a wide selection of plants, for tanks and ponds ( pond plants are only availbale in the summer months )

Over the years we have changed with the times We obv do a lot on Facebook, but we also have a google plus page, instagram page and twitter page. Plus a lovely newish website. Where we sell Dry goods on line. On our website we have lots of advice, and info on the fish we stock.
