I've recently started working with Oliver and Stanley, the Boston Terriers stepbrothers, who are 6 months apart in age. Their owner got in contact, with regards to Ollys reactiveness towards other dogs whilst out on a walk.

Upon arrival I noticed that Stanley (the elder boy 2nd picture) was nervously/ standoffish barking and wouldn't come over to take a free treat, while Olly was more than happy to come straight over, plonk his bum on the floor and take a treat.

We spent some time focusing on a one to one basis training on the grass outside and down the river with each off the boys. We worked on breaking the boys focus when approaching other people and dogs while rewarding for everytime they gave engagement to their handler.

With new training equipment order to help these boys on their journey, I can't wait to see them again for our next session.

DOG TRAINING GROUP CLASSES, COMING SOON TO DUMBARTON, ALEXANDRIA & HELENSBURGH.

From Sunday the 3rd of November, we will be starting our "group" controlled exposure classes in the Dumbarton area.

We will be focusing on exposing, nervous, reactive, over stimulated, highly aroused, and over friendly dogs to each other, whilst learning how to keep our dogs under full control and focused, in multiple real life situations.

All 2 hour Group classes are £30 (cash) per dog. Locations vary as we use multiple areas for different levels of exposure.

There are limited spaces on these classes, so if you'd like to book your spot in one of these groups, then please contact us directly on the page.

For all new enquiries/clients of ARW K9 Training who would like to join our controlled exposure classes, will require a one to one dog and handler training session before hand, as we like to have an initial assessment of your dog to make sure your he/she is suitable for the class. These assessments will be a one to one session where basic training will be included. These can last anywhere between 1-2 hours long & will be charged at £40-£80.

If your dog is not best suited for a group class, then there are other services we can offer to help both you and your dog achieve your training goals.

I've been doing some neutralising, socialising & desensitisation training with Mr Bentley Blue & Ms Tiger Lilly in the town centre over the past few weeks, and the dogs have been absolutely smashing it, while also becoming a familiar face to locals.

Today, I meet my first proper Karen, who I spotted, was filming myself and my dogs training. Throughout and after this video, she was calling out that my dogs are off lead, out of control, and aggressive.

Yes, the dogs are off lead. As you'll clearly hear and see in the video, I have given clear! commands to my dogs and even told the filming Karen, they are in training and are fully under control. Please note, I wouldn't be doing a training exercise like this without feeling comfortable doing it and trusting my dogs to obey they're commands.

This Karen continued to film me after I stopped this video, even coming up to me and my dogs with her camera in my face and her out of control, show-line springer yanking on a harness, while lunging uncomfortably towards my 2. Which if anything made her Spaniel look unfriendly & aggressive. I asked her multiple times to recall it and she didn't, this proving my point that she has 0 control over her dog.

Full well knowing she was then becoming a problem for me and my dogs, I put my 2 back on their leads, walked away and politely told her to enjoy the rest of her Sunday and go forth to multiply.

Meet Jax, the 12 week old Springer Spaniel, with a lot of bounce.

Jax's owner got in contact with us asking for help regarding his handler engagement and lead training.

After explaining, demonstrating and practicing the best method to help achieve these goals, which was done, with thanks to hand feeding a highly demanded biscuit (not all dogs are like this) we managed to build a new fun way to train and start walking little Jax.

Well that's our FIRST day out and FIRST, full time dog added to our 2 hour group walks. Meet the lovely 1 year old Lola (the show girl) a collie x labrador.

We have spaces available on both our AM & PM, 2 hour group walks, with pick up and drop offs available. Groups are no larger than 6, with basic training integrated within the walks.

We know it's been a while since posting anything on our social media pages, and this is for multiple reasons, but the biggest is because we are moving out of Cumbria.

We have been given an opportunity to move even further north and re-establish our business up in Scotland.

I (Alexander) would personally like to thank all of the friends & clients, who have supported myself and the business throughout the last year. After going through some personal struggles and hardships, without you guys, I wouldn't be where I am today, and a special thank you to the dedicated & loyal clients who came to every single group class.

Well what an adventure that was, with Mr Barney Bubbles and his 2 besties. A Three and a half hour, 5 mile circular walk round Sallows & Sour Howe.

Luckily we avoid the rain, however the clouds definitely set a very picturesque backdrop on the mountains, making these pictures look amazing.

Introducing Little Kim, the Lakeland Terrier. Little Kim's owner got in contact with us regarding her handler engagement and recall, while being walked by the owners partner. After explaining, demonstrating and practicing the best method to help achieve these goals, which was done all thanks to a highly demanded biscuit (not all dogs are like this) we managed to help build a new, fun relationship between the two.

Meet Raff, the 3 year old working line Labrador retriever. Raffs owner's got in contact with us regarding his recall, handler engagement, lead engagement and desensitising his over excitement to other dogs. Now I could write an absolute essay of a post but I'll let the video speak for itself, this is the outcome of two 1 hour sessions and daily practice at home.
