Friends and owners we have a couple of concerning trends growing at the dog park.

Firstly in recent weeks we have a furry friend who wants to dig to Australia. Please try to discourage you dogs from digging there is a risk to other owners and dogs. We have filled in 3 so far this is a new one today.

Secondly we continue to be plagued with dog poo that owners are not picking up. We had to pick up 4 just this morning. Its not always easy to spot you pet going about its business especially if you have a few dogs in the field but please make every effort to pick them up there is a bin and poo bags provided by the shed.

Lastly the dog agility kit is looking a bit worn so we will try this weekend to replace it all with new kit and cut the grass weather permitting.

Good afternoon to all our customers, furry fiends and followers.

We received some feedback about the shed floor being rotten. The floor is only 9 months old so there is no rot but regardless we took the decision to re-enforce the floor with MDF. No one should be worried about the strength of the floor now.

We added some new tyres in to the field to try to increase things for the furry friends to do.

Another reminder about owners picking up their dogs poo. We would like to thank the customer who unilaterally put signs up on the gate so the is no plausible deniability about who is responsible. Further in the last couple of days I have picked up 4 poos in my morning round. I get that occasionally you get distracted and miss you furry friend doing their business but please try to help keep the field clean and sanitary.

One last request. One customer has asked if we can open earlier that 08:00. I contacted the council planning department and they said it will cost £300 to submit a case and there is no guarantee of approval. Could anyone else who is interested in earlier use of the field drop us a direct message. If there is enough demand we will try to get approval.

Sorry about the rain recently....nothing mush we can do about that.

We have established a working relationship with an experienced dog trainer and behavior specialist including rescue dogs, but focuses on the owner and a new puppy building the right relationships to build good habits for the owner as well as the dog. We have also received feedback that owners are not cleaning up their pets poo. Its not very pleasant to step on poo so could I ask owners to be vigilant when their dogs poo and they will as exercise will ensure any dog has a bowel movement. we do provide poo bags and a bin for this purpose. Please help us keep the field as clean as we can. Thank you.

The grass was cut tonight so it should be easier to spot.

A reminder to please respect other customers. We all want our furry friends to have fun and for the owners to also have a good experience.

arrival and departure - again we have had feedback that some people are arriving very early and/or leaving very late. this frustrates other customers who then may only get 20 minutes in the field. So our suggestion is to arrive on time may be a couple of minutes early but to sit in your car until the previous customer has their dogs in their car. You should start plan your exit a few minutes before the end of you time. allowing you to clean up put the toys and balls back and get out of the gate by the end of your booked time. If we can't get people to respect this we may have to consider changing it from 30 minute slots to 25 minutes with a 5 minute changeover. We would prefer not to but we may have to.

Finally managed to finish the pot holes in the road. Its not perfectly smooth but its far better than it was. Also cut the grass yesterday so should feel fresh for our guests this week.

We have just opened up full summer hours 08:00 - 20:00 every day from the 1st of April. Should provide you all with more flexibility.

We know the road needs some work but we are looking for economic options to resurface/repair sustainably. So our plans to repairs have been delayed slightly.

So we feel its time to reinforce some key points about the field, etiquette and just good behavior. We all want our furry friends to have fun and for the owners to also have a good experience.

This morning we spent 45 minutes clearing up the field picking up balls an toys from all over the field i counted 22 balls that I picked up. Please don't just use the tennis balls like a machine gun firing them out all over the field. Perhaps teach your dog to pick up and return the balls ? Help us keep the field tidy. Tomorrow we are going to walk round and pick up all of the ripped/destroyed balls. We will also try to clean all the toys every other day. Its really tough to keep them clean at this time of the year.

A couple of you have highlighted the back tunnel had a wire sticking out we repaired that this morning.

Last thing I want to ask is feedback about dangerous breeds (i.e. XL bully's). There are legal changes we have to comply with like muzzles and leads etc before we put policies up about dangerous breeds. Can you give us your views and whether you would support or oppose us welcoming all dog types and breeds to use the field. Our current view is all dogs need exercise and if we can support that in our secure field we should. What are your views for an against this ?

A few things to update on.

Firstly we are extending our hours again and now are open until 17:00.

Secondly we know the road needs some repairs, towards the end of the month weather permitting we will close for a day and repair the road.

Lastly I have installed CCTV cameras to look over the field for security purposes. I have noticed few people have entered without a booking. I am sure this is not intentional and those people think they have booked. If you don't get an email and or SMS message and £6 deducted from your account then you have not booked. I don't want to start changing the code regularly, but if people persist in using the field without payment then that is what we will do. If by chance you realize you have used the field without a booking by accident please contact us to allow us to fix anything broken.

Had to remove the doggy seesaw this morning. We think all the wet weather has weakened the wood. we will try to repair it if we can, if not will replace it.

As we have past the winter solstice the daylight time will grow and we can open for longer again.

We have just added a loyalty program to the web site called "Frequent Doggy Visits". In effect it offers one free booking for every 10 paid bookings or 10%. You earn furry friend points. At Doggy Dreamland which is in Dumfries you can book time slots for your dog to safely play in our secure dog playfield. We have various activities yous dogs enjoy in the feild and there is free tea and coffee in the shed.

Beautiful morning here Dreamland Ltd. Quite frosty this morning but the sun is out. we have the extended car park and some protective paths around if it gets muddy. Loads of slots left to book today.

So after some hard graft last night and this morning we have put down more gravel to make parking less of a mud bath. We hope this helps our customers and doggy friends get less muddy on entering and leaving the field.
