Holt’s Hounds will be closing down on the 28th of February. I wish this had been my choice, as there are few jobs I would rather be doing than the one I have been in. It has been a long two weeks, but I will keep this to the point regarding the reason behind it.
A man called Arthur Temlett ran an insurance company called Abacus Insurance. My family has known him for decades, and he was considered a family friend. Two weeks ago, he was arrested, and the police have cleared his offices in an investigation into embezzlement. This means all the money I had saved as a nurse, money I put away for a pension, and money my dad had left me when he died is all gone. After speaking to the police and seeking legal advice from a solicitor, there is no way to claim any of this back through insurance due to the way he has arranged everything. I could file a civil suit, but this would cost me money I don’t have, and as I have been advised, he moved all his assets into Michael Temlett’s name over 7 years ago so their will probably be nothing to go after, as he has been planning this for a long time by the looks of it.
This is all still very raw, and I don’t know what will happen down the line after this has been to court, but that will not happen for a long time yet. As such, I need to put plans in place to start again and rebuild my savings and this will involve going back to nursing full time. I have full faith that the police will be able to bring Arthur Temlett to justice.
I am not talking about all of this to get any sympathy. I trusted someone I thought was a friend—someone who would smile, offering help and security, while knowing he was robbing you. This has not been covered properly by any of the local papers. The Standard and The Courier only posted a small section about him being struck off, with nothing about the over 50 lives this monster, who used friendship as a weapon, has ruined. The only two things I want from posting this are, For everyone else who was affected by this evil person to know that you are not alone, and for everyone to know what a real monster Arthur Temlett truly is behind his façade of niceties.
I want to thank all my amazing customers and my 4 legged friends who have made the last few years unforgettable, I will truly miss you all very much.
