Rainy play dates for Stella and Bella 🐾❤️
Stella originally came into the centre with severe reactivity. Towards people and dogs; in fact anything that moved!
We had to manage introductions to anything new very slowly!
Bella also had some reactivity issues with other dogs.
Now they can both enjoy some playtime together in the paddock with no issues. These girls have the best fun with each other! 🐾
If you don't already, head over to Tiktok and give us a follow @dgcrc_caninerescue
Our poor Rosie is still looking for the perfect match.
She's a real sweetie who LOVES a cuddle on the couch and some good company ❤️.
This girl is loyal and very loving.
There's just got to be someone out there for her.
If you think that could be you please follow the link for more information 🤞💙🐶🏡.

🚨WE ARE AT CRISIS POINT🚨
To enable us to keep helping the number of dogs we do each year, we genuinely need your help!
The takings from our charity shops keep the kennels running. We are at risk of losing some of those takings as we are struggling to keep the shops open due to a lack of volunteers.
We need more people to commit to helping in our shops.
Our shops are open 6 days a week, 10am - 4pm.
Duties to choose from are:
🐾Serving customers at the till,
🐾sorting and cleaning donations
🐾pricing donations
🐾Sorting out rotas and more!
The day is split in 2 shifts, 10am-1pm and 1pm - 4pm.
As a volunteer benefits include :
Free Charity Membership
20% off purchases in ALL of our shops
Free on site refreshments
New friendships
Volunteer outings,
And knowing you are helping out dogs!
We understand that life is hard for everyone at the moment, but we hope that the region will pull together for us again and help us to keep helping dogs in need🐾
🎉 It's our 21st Birthday! 🎉
21 years ago today we opened our doors as Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue Centre.
We are incredibly proud of all we have achieved and can't thank everyone enough who has helped along the way.
Thanks to the support from local people and our amazing volunteers we have opened 6 charity shops across the region and rehomed around 5160 dogs in the process. ❤️
The happiest boys ❤️🐾.
These gorgeous lads haven't been with us long so they aren't on the website yet.
If you are looking to adopt keep an eye out for them going up this week to see what kind of home they will need.

⭐Moffat dogs update⭐
It's fair to say these dogs have come a long way since July.
We fully understand this is just the start of their journey and there is a lot more work to be done.
These dogs will probably never be 'normal pets' but in the right home they stand a chance at a happy life.
Last week 5 of them were neutered and we were incredibly proud of how well they handled the traveling (they were great in the van) and being in a whole new environment away from the familiar comforts of the kennels. They greeted the staff at the vets really well considering ❤️.
They are now on our website as we are beginning the process of rehoming. If you are interested please read the description carefully and if you think you could be what one of these dogs are looking for please fill in our form.
Here's to the next chapter in their story ❤️.

Our Shaza absolutely loved her shift in our Dumfries shop today. She adored meeting our fantastic volunteers and she gave plenty of kisses to all our customers too! 🐾🐶
⭐We are always looking for new volunteers to join our incredible team and keep our charity shops open.⭐
These shops play a huge and vital part in the work we do. The shifts are short (3 hours) and there are various roles available, from helping customers out the front to helping sort through items for sale in the stock room.
If you have a little spare time and a love for dogs please get in touch today 🙏❤️.

It's a bit wet out there this morning 💦 This is the current state of the lane leading to our centre. It is passable but there are plenty of pot holes to navigate which will be hidden by the water. Please take care if you are coming to see us. Stay safe 💦
