Damhead Kennels is nestled in the hills just outside of Dumfries at the end of a quiet lane. Here they can have as much fun as they can handle.

At Damhead we provide spacious, kennels for your four legged friends. The kennel block has full central heating Your dogs will be exercised 4 times a day including at least 1 lead walk as well as lots of off lead time in our fully secure play areas. At Damhead dogs are fed on a complete maintenance kibble. The feeding pattern your dog receives at home will be carried on here - so if it’s once, tw

ice or three times a day let us know and we will do the same. Medication can also be administered at no extra charge. Beds and cosy bedding is supplied and changed regularly during their stay. Our cattery is small and cosy so is reserved for owners who also board their dogs with us. All cats receive one to one time whether it is having a cuddle or playing with a toy. Beds, bedding and scratch posts are supplied for your furry friend. Again we supply a complete diet for our cats supplemented with a little meat.

Impatient and abusive behaviour will NOT be tolerated at Damhead or on our lane leading to and from our kennel.

Please keep your pets safe.
Walk early before it gets dark.
Turn up your TV or radio.
Pull the curtains.
Comfort your pets, you cannot reinforce fear so ignoring them doesn't work.
Talk calmly and quietly to them to reassure them.
Make them a safe place, den if they need one.
Make sure your doors, garden gates are securely closed.
Dogs will bolt out of fear and will slip out of harnesses and loose collars.

Coughs and sneezes spread diseases!!!

I am very concerned that dogs are being sent into our kennel to board when they are showing signs of illness!
I have had several dogs brought in recently who have been sneezing and before I know it, owners have jetted off on holiday.
There is an upper respiratory viral infection that is prevalent in the area so if your dog is sneezing and snuffling then please do not bring them to our kennel where it will spread to our other guests.
