As bonfire night is just around the corner we wanted to share some tips on keeping your pets as stress free as possible 🎆

-Start desensitising your pet now, play firework sounds to get your pet more comfortable with them.

-Play music or keep a TV on during the fireworks to help drown out noise, not too loud though.

-Shut curtains early to block the flashes out.

-Provide your pets with a den to hide in.

-Keep your cats indoors for the evening.

-Bring small furries hutches/cages indoors or into a shed if possible, if not possible face them to a wall instead of the open garden.

-Walk dogs earlier in the day before dark and keep them on a lead so they don’t run off if they get spooked.

-Giving chews, lickimats, kongs, snuffle boxes/mats and treat searches can all help facilitate a calmer state.

-Use pheromone plug ins such as feliway or adaptil to help with stress and anxiety.

-Use VetPro Stress and Anxiety capsules.

Don’t leave it too late, if you think your pet will require medication get in touch now so this can be arranged in time 🎆

Happy Halloween from our staff pets 💀🎃👻😈

Although Halloween can be fun for us, it’s not always as fun for our pets! Here are some ways to keep your pets safe and avoid any stress!

🎃 Chocolate and sweets can be toxic to our pets so please keep them out of reach! If there are any accidents please contact us as soon as you notice your pet has ingested anything.

🎃Although our staff pets had fun dressing up, some animals might not enjoy this or find it very stressful so please be cautious if dressing pets up.

🎃Often there are fireworks on Halloween so we recommend keeping dogs on leads when out walking and keeping cats/small pets inside for the evening if possible.

🎃If you are answering the door to guisers please ensure your pets are kept away from the door! Often pets can be fearful with the costumes and strangers at their door, we also want to make sure no pet escapes as the door will be open a lot more than usual.

This little superstar is Milo!⭐️
Milo unfortunately became ill recently and had to undergo a lifesaving operation to remove his spleen! Thankfully Milo has recovered very well and is doing amazing post surgery! Milo spent a lot of time in the practice and we all fell in love with his kind nature and great personality! Milo was the perfect patient and loved cuddles from all our nurses! You are such a good boy Milo ♥️🐾

This little cutie is Pixie who was in with our nurse Sam recently for her 6 month PHC health check! 🩷🐾 The 6 month health check helps to pick up any problems with your pets quicker instead of waiting a full year from booster to booster! We are glad to say Pixie was in great health and was a star patient ⭐️

Roxy has graduated 🎓🎉🥳

Gorgeous Roxy was extremely reactive when she first started fear free clinics, she was unable to be examined without a muzzle and was extremely stressed. Brogan our RVN, has worked with Roxy for the last year to get her to the point of being able to be examined with no stress and no muzzle. Roxy has went from not letting Brogan pet her to giving her the best cuddles and being excited to come to the vets🥰

Today Roxy came running into the consult room and had her vaccination without a muzzle. She was so relaxed she didn’t even notice the injection! We are so proud of Roxy and the amazing progress she has made! 🐾♥️🎓

This little cutie is Tesco Meal Deal (Tessie to her friends) 😻 She was in with us today for her 2nd vaccination and flea & worm treatment! This is all covered by her Pet Health Club Plan so there was nothing for her owner to pay today! 🐾
