Monday pups and it's officially AUTUMN πŸ˜πŸπŸ‚πŸΎ

Kyrah had lots of fun exploring Caird Park today, posing at Mains Castle and sniffing about the woods. We saw squirrels, ducks and even a heron! She was such a good girl passing boys on bikes and scooters and a lovely gentleman and his dog. Lovely walk all round!

Poor Hugo only got a wee toilet break today as he over did it at the weekend and has a sore leg. Fingers crossed he is on the mend ASAP and can enjoy his zoomies again! β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή

Moss had a great time sniffing and roaming the stubble fields on the long line. He accidentally flushed out a rabbit and then somehow didn't even notice it. His nose was down the whole time and he just loved sniffing about all the interesting smells. We calmed down in the woods before heading home, and on the way he offered some beautiful heel work. Very good boy 😍

Douglas enjoyed a nosey round the outskirts of the park, so much to smell and explore among all the fallen leaves, long grass and shrubs. He loves it! We almost had the whole park to ourselves apart from some litter pickers so it was a lovely relaxed walk with lots of recall practise and running 🐢

There's a new kid on the block...

Give a big welcome to BENJI the adorable (almost) 8 month old Miniature Poodle! How cute is he?!

Benji will be joining the Wolf Trax Walkies team for solo walks and puppy visits a few days a week. He is a super friendly little guy who is still getting to grips with the big wide world around him but so far seems to be taking it all in his stride. He is super playful but also loves naps on the couch.

I'm so looking forward to watching him grow and getting to know him. I bet he's going to be such a little character!

Fun Fact: Did you know Poodles are considered to be one of the most intelligent dog breeds in the world? Pipped to the post by the uber smart Border Collie but coming ahead of the German Shepherd! Imagine all this little guys potential 😍

Today Clova & Corrie had to rest their wee paws due to scraping them the other day. So, instead of walkies their humans asked if I could do a wee enrichment visit as I'd done a bit of the previous day.

I got my giant box of enrichment that I keep for my own dogs and headed over with snuffle mats, wobble kongs, lick mats and some I had already frozen. The girls absolutely loved everything, Corrie was so enthusiastic about it all and Clova although less interested, got their in the end. It kept them busy for almost the full hour visit, with Clova stopping for some cuddles. I had to tidy it all up so they'd concentrate on getting the toilet before I left πŸ˜… Even Toby tried to get involved and definitely pinched some treats while I was setting up!

Enrichment visits are great for older dogs, young puppies or dogs on rest from surgery or injury. Today was mostly food enrichment, however I can adapt enrichment as much as possible to suit breeds and requirements so just ask 😊

I've had such a fun time walking these girls for the last wee while but today was my last visit 😭 will definitely miss them, and Toby but glad I got to spend lots of time with them this morning 🧑

Gatsby and I went to the woods today and it was so quiet it felt like we had them all to ourselves. Gatsby loved sniffing about and exploring and it was lovely and shady for us. Look at him posing like a pro πŸ“Έ

Corrie and Clova went to the secure field today to have some quiet exercise in a controlled environment so they could still get out but rest their wee scraped feet. We had fun working on the puzzle feeder and playing with some enrichment once Clova stopped barking out of frustration and actually put her brain to the task πŸ˜… they were actually very good at taking it slow, no ball throwing and just lots of sniffing so they weren't over doing it 🩷

Toby was out to see us off and greet us when we came back and he rubbed his wee face all over my head while I was trying to clean and dry the girls feet. Obviously jealous of all their attention 🧑

Douglas had fun at the park, he explored and sniffed and barked at me for treats, he had a couple of dogs run up to him much to my annoyance, but was such a good boy and didn't let it throw him off his stride πŸ₯°
(Side note - if you have the wherewithal to put trackers on your dogs since they obviously don't have recall, then perhaps use a lead?!)

Wee Face was mooching about as always but Munch was snoozing away so I didn't want to disturb 😴

Another beautiful day to be a dog walker 😍

Moss had a nice shady sniffari in the woods, he loves exploring nose to the ground and tail in the air and we didn't meet another soul 🌲

Gatsby had a gentle stroll at the park and went shade hunting. He was such a happy boy and just loves sniffing every inch of the place! 🐢

Douglas explored on the longline round his favourite park, we kept the running to a minimum as it was still to hot, but try telling Douglas that! πŸ˜…

Frankie and I walked up to the woods this morning, he was such a gentleman passing other dogs and people and we stayed cool under the trees 🌳

Corrie & Clova had a great time playing at the shingle beach early this morning. We had the place to ourselves! Swimming, running, chasing the ball into the beautiful calm water and accidentally scraping their wee paws Now we all feel terrible about it but the fun was worth it I think?! πŸ™ˆ

What a gorgeous day with gorgeous pups! πŸ˜β˜€οΈ

Bella got treated to a morning at the beach and she LOVED it. She splashed around and paddled in the water to stay nice and cool. She even p**ped in the water which was fun to pick up πŸ™ƒπŸ’©πŸ˜…

Jasper has a wee sore paw so much to his dismay it was lead walks only and no ball/toy throwing. It was also ROASTING when I picked him up so we stuck to the shade and took it nice and slow, making sure to have a break to cool down and grab a drink. He kept looking at me like he wanted to put a complaint in πŸ˜‚

Finn & Poppy explored a new (to me!) walk in the country where we were lucky enough not to bump into anyone else, it was lovely and shaded but still very warm, luckily Poppy wasn't in a hurry so they took it nice and easy and stayed cool 😊

Corrie & Clova came with me to find a wee farm track and stubble field and they loved it so much, look at the pure joy on Corrie's face 🀣 they had so much fun running and sniffing and exploring. I couldn't throw the ball much, if at all as even at 9.30am it was very hot and the girls really don't have a 'slow down' button, so we found some shade so they could have a wee rest and made sure to cool down and have plenty to drink before I took them home. These girls are so much fun, especially when we have a walk to ourselves!

Just had these two out and it is absolutely roasting. 23C according to my car when we got back. We had to cut the walk a bit short to go back to the car and find some shade, roll about in some water and have lots to drink and get the AC blasting. Walks will be adjusted if necessary today/shortened/kept slow or around water to have a wee dip to stay cool as it unseasonably hot! πŸ₯΅β˜€οΈ

Well that was an unexpectedly hot Monday β˜€οΈπŸ₯΅

Loki & Chiqui checked out the new field in Dundee, Dogxercise, and had a great time! They did plenty of sniffing, said hello to the sheep neighbours and peed on every inch of the place before we had some play time and games, and also plenty of breaks and lots of water as it got so warm! Both very good boys 😊

Corrie & Clova had a ball (excuse the pun) at the beach this morning, it was a little busier than last time but Clova handled it very well and focused on me/ball/treats. She is so loud at the beach as she is so excited to play and dive in the water, she definitely draws attention πŸ˜… Corrie is an angel on walks and loved having a run and a swim, her only issue is giving me back the ball at the end 🀣

Kyrah had a stroll around the park and a very sniffy walk with some play time, although she was draggging her heels a bit today as if she couldn't be bothered! She was great passing other dogs and people and is so good at checking in with me the whole walk, especially for sausages! 🩷

Hugo had a nice sniffy walk after attempting the great escape on me πŸ™ˆ he was very good passing noisy dogs in gardens and looked to me for a treat without reacting! Very good boy!

Moss had the time of his life in the stubble fields this afternoon, he was SO happy to have a run and so many sniffs! His tail was just going the whole time, but he also remembered to check in a lot and had those crazy ears switched on, very well behaved today and so sweet to see how much he loved it! πŸ•

Douglas had fun walking by the burn and having a wee dip, he loves running in and out of the water which is a great way to cool off on days like these. I love arriving to collect him as he's always sitting on the step raring to go πŸ₯°

What a busy Monday 😍

Look who's back! 😍

Foster & Cooper are back for weekend walkies while they are being looked after by their Granny. Such a pleasure to see these boys again and it always makes me happy to see clients returning!

We had a couple of slow wanders today, the boys are never in much of a rush. They were so good passing lots of horses and didn't put the breaks on too much! One more walk for these boys tomorrow and then its time for me to put my feet up before the week starts again! 😊

Settling down for an afternoon/evening of pet sitting Atlas & Sparta after a very busy week with extra Friday walks!

Atlas is full of fun today, wanting a good carry on in the garden, Sparta always keeping him in line. Atlas had a wee walk but was a little nervous tonight after a motorbike went past. Now they're all tuckered out and resting until tea time! 😴

Last walks with Kali for a week or two while she's on her holidays! Its been a very Kali filled week and I've loved every minute, the sass included 🐺🩷

Corrie & Clova got treated to a run at Northbank Secure Field today so they could run and play with no interuptions. They played some sniffy games, explored the field from top to bottom and got to chase their balls. They slept all the way home πŸ˜†

Tomorrow & Sunday I've got some one off weekend walkies with a returning client so keep your eyes peeled for who that is πŸ‘€

🐾 Thursday Wanders 🐾

Gatsby had a great time exploring around Clatto Woods and Reservoir, lots of sniffs and a very good boy passing orher dogs, even when a Beagle tried to eat him πŸ™ˆ

Kali was in no mood today, exhausted from our girls night last night clearly πŸ˜… she had a couple of very relaxed walks, apart from at one point jumping into a bush to chase a bird πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Moss and I went exploring Riverside and Magdalen today for a wee change, he loved it! Lots of new smells and sights, he loved watching the planes flying over and he was such a good bot walking along riverside and not getting to over excited passing other dogs! πŸ₯°

Corrie and Clova had a lovely country walk this morning. We spent half the walk with no toys so they could use their noses and they loved exploring! Then they got to chase their balls on the way back to the care and had a great time. Lovely quiet walk and two very good girls, even when Clova ran into all the muddy puddles πŸ˜…

Wednesday Walkies πŸΎπŸΆπŸ•

Kali has been the star of the day with two walks and an evening of pet sitting. She has been such a good girl and is a great host, if not a little demanding πŸ˜…

Gatsby was happy to get out for his walks in the sun today until the heavens opened. He had fun walking with Bonnie the Newfie who lives nearby and we only had a couple of dogs run over to him πŸ™ˆ

Frankie enjoyed a sunny but chilly walk around Clatto, he got lots of attention from people passing and had a great time showing off πŸ₯°

Toby was posing after his sisters walk today, I cannot get over how adorable he is!

Clova & Corrie enjoyed a run at the park today, we managed to get a nice quiet spot away from anyone else so they could have a bit of a freedom and be more relaxed. Clova was very barky today when playing so I hope we didn't wake up the whole neighbourhood πŸ™ˆ

Clover & Heather were great on their walk this afternoon, we got lots of sunshine but luckily it wasn't too busy. Finally discovered that giving Heather a little extra length on the lead seems to make for a much easier walk, she is happy to go ahead or take her time and doesn't like to be rushed, and it means she is further away from Clover should they react and redirect when a dog goes past ❀️

Douglas had fun at the park today, we played some impulse control games mainly to work on his check ins to implement this into lead work in the future to make life a bit easier for me and his mum as he pulls a lot. We also played some sniffy games and took our time exploring all the long grass and foliage, he loves to use his nose! 🐽

Wee Face & Munch were mooching for treats today and had a wee stick each, look at Wee Face, I thought she was going to bite my hand off for it 🀣🀣

And now I'm off to relax with Kali for the night 😴

What a busy Monday! πŸ₯± and full of BOYS! Except Kyrah 🩷

Hugo and I went for a wee wander around his new area exploring more paths and dead ends πŸ˜… he's not a very good tour guide but he is a good boy so thats ok πŸ’™

Kyrah was a very good girl when we went to explore Trottick, she particularly liked sniffing at all the horse p**p! She walked so well on lead today, very proud of her πŸ₯°

Moss had his ears switched back on today which meant a much more pleasant walk for both of us! We went for a nice sniffy walk in the woods, practised some recall and on the way home he looked up at me and did some beautiful loose lead walking without prompting. Very good lad πŸ’š

Frankie enjoyed a wee stroll around the neighbourhood, checking out the other Frenchies and two beautiful Chows walking past, he even had a lovely roll about at the park and enjoyed lots of fussing 😊

Douglas had a great time at the park, running and running, he is such a happy excitable lad. He had lots of sniffs, rolled in some unknown fluff, and barked at me for treats! All in all a successful walk! 🐢

My poor wee Alma had to go to the vet for an eye ulcer at the end of the day so I treated her to a wee walk around Dawson Park afterwards and she loved getting a walk to herself without the wolfies, although she did try to leave me for a jogger running by 🀣

Then it was time for a new client meeting! And after all that it is definitely time to put my feet up! 😴

Sunday visits for this little cat family, Nova, Nacho and Merlin πŸ±πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆ

Nacho came out right away for a fuss and was quite happy to soak up the attention for a while! Look at that yawn! 😍

Merlin wasn't sure at first but eventually came out for a wee play, and was a big sook by the end. Not up for going in his cat wheel though πŸ˜…

Nova was a shy wee girl who was quite happy cosied under her blanket until tea time, but she wasn't that keen for attention, her brothers are good at stealing the spot light!

Swipe to the end to see Nacho & Merlin waiting patiently to go steal Nova's food as soon as they get the chance πŸ™ˆ

🐢 DOG FRIENDLY DAY 🐢

Happy weekend everyone!

A few weekends ago Alma and I met up with Dougie the Border Terrier and his humans for a wee day of exploring. Dougie has a little human brother so we found a nice easy going walk along the River Teith and past the beautiful Doune Castle.

It was a VERY wet day and the paths can get muddy but it was a very pretty and easy walk despite the rain. No livestock about and no one else walking really apart from the odd couple. The castle was quite busy and unfortunately dogs (except assistance dogs) are not allowed inside. The castle is lovely to see from the outside and would be a bonus for Outlander (used for Castle Leoch) or Game of Thrones fans (pilot episode of GoT shot here). 🏰

After we got drenched on our walk we went to warm up at The Woodside in Doune, a lovely eatery and inn and very dog friendly. There was a few dogs in when we were there and they offered to provide a bowl of water for our pups. They had great food and a lovely cosy atmosphere. Alma and Dougie were born to be pub dogs ❀️ Definitely recommend if you're visiting the area with or without dogs!

Have a wonderful weekend whatever you're doing!

My first thought was to delete the email. I'm not a fan of Graeme Hall. I've watched a few episodes of his show, and in my opinion, he seems to make things up as he goes along, relying on outdated training methods.

However, I was puzzled. Was the β€œcravat” unwell, and they needed a stand-in? I'm a nobody – why on earth would they want to film me training a dog when there are so many high-profile trainers out there? Curiosity got the better of me, so I decided to give the researcher a call.

I'm still in shock as I write this. The researcher explained that they wanted to invite me to Lytham with my Border Collie to "demonstrate" to Graeme Hall how I would train my dog not to respond to a phone ringtone.

Graeme would then take my training method and use it to teach the Border Collie of the family seeking help – all while filming it for his TV show!

WTF 😳😳😳

I decided to dig a bit deeper and reached out to the force-free dog training community to see if anyone else had experienced something this bizarre.

It turns out that many trainers had also been asked to attend filming sessions to show Graeme how to train dogs before the cameras rolled. Most reported that they refused because of his methods, but a few had shown him and his team how to train a dog, only to be dismissed without any credit for their expertise.

I then did some open-source research on "The Country’s Best Dog Trainer," as the *Daily Telegraph* calls him. He has no formal training in canine behaviour or training. He’s essentially winging it with the help of whatever trainers are willing to show up and assist him.

According to his website, he charges Β£875 per session πŸ€”πŸ˜§

Now I’m not someone who normally criticises other trainers. I prefer to let my clients decide if I’m the right trainer for them based on how I work with their dogs.

However, I couldn’t let this pass without making it public knowledge.

If you're looking for a dog trainer, please avoid this programme and this man. You have no idea whose techniques he’ll be using week to week, and given that most qualified and accredited trainers want nothing to do with him, the quality of training you’ll receive is questionable at best.

Instead, do your own research and find a local trainer who aligns with your own dog training ethics. Organisations such as The IMDT or APDT - Association of Pet Dog Trainers can help guide you to qualified & accredited trainers in your area.

Happy Birthday Kyrah!!! πŸ₯³πŸŽˆπŸŽ‰πŸŽπŸŽ‚

I hope that your family spoil you rotten you deserve it 🩷

Can you believe she is 1 year old already?! I met her almost a year ago when she was a tiny 8 week old puppy, and we started off walks when she was about 10 weeks in a carrier (which she very quickly outgrew) to get her out and about. She was (and still is!) so adorable. Look at the size difference! She has grown into such a beautiful dog. She is so funny with her Frenchie brother Hugo and seems to understand that he is the boss! They play so well together and Hugo definitely gives as good as he gets.

Kyrah can be a little nervous sometimes and like a lot of GSDs tends to over react, but she is coming on so well, walks brilliantly and is such a sweetheart. Her humans have worked hard with her and sought training when needed, she is an absolute testament to them. I have loved watching this girl grow and getting to be there from the beginning is such a privilege πŸ₯°

I definitely have a soft spot for GSDs after our first dog, Nala, so I'm over the moon to get to walk Kyrah ❀️

Thursday Pups 🐢🐾

Clover & Heather were back after being off for a few weeks and we had a lovely walk at the beach with hardly anyone about. The pups got to have a lovely relaxing walk with plenty of sniffing and a good fuss πŸ₯°

Douglas enjoyed a different route today and we went to explore some open space so he could just run and run and he loved it and his mum appreciated him not being soggy from the burn when we got back πŸ˜…

Moss was on one today, not listening, trying to run riot, jumping all over me. He just gets so excited for his walks clearly πŸ˜… we managed to enjoy a wee walk in Invergowrie and explored the park there, he loved having a wee sniff about and a chase of the ball. He's such a big sook, just sometimes comes on a bit strong 🀣

Kali had a couple of lovely walks today, she was so lazy when I went back for her this afternoon and did not want to get off the sofa but we got there in the end. She's such a funny husky πŸ₯°

And now I'm off to put my feet up 😴 Have a great weekend when it comes!

Forever grateful for busy days filled with these beautiful faces 🐢🐱

Kyrah seems to be finished her season so we headed off to the park on the longline to have a good play and sniff, she loved bounding about after the ball and getting a bit of freedom to explore and her recall on the line was fantastic!

Took Hugo to a different park and we had a lovely quiet walk with no other dogs. He absolutely LOVES getting to run a bit on the longline and goes nuts for a ball! He's such a serious looking lad until he wants to grab a toy from you πŸ˜…

Moss and I went to his local park today which I tend to avoid as it can be quite peopley. But with the rain this morning there was no one about and I even chanced a wee off lead session. Moss's recall to a whistle is SO good! Until he sees a pigeon and tears off after it. He will come back but only after putting the fear of god into me! So then we had a more relaxed end to the walk to get both of our heart rates back to normal πŸ™ˆ

I was so happy to have an extra walk with Jasper today and we managed to avoid the rain, play some games and do lots of sniffing. I did have my brolly with me just in case and I think he was so distractes by the thought that I might throw it for him that he refused to go to the toilet 🀣

Corrie, Clova & I went exploring some different paths, parks and woodland and Corrie ran about with her ball quite happily, Clova played with the chuck it stick and yes we lost another one. Clova hasn't quite finished her season so she stayed on the longline just to be safe and was a very good girl. Toby the cat was there to greet as when we got back, he is just too cute! 🐱

Douglas was my last walk of the day and we had a wee gentle stroll down the burn where he went for a dip and got almost deep enough to swim! He is so good when passing other dogs and loves a bit of freedom on the longline as well. He's always sitting waiting for me on the step when I collect him which is just the sweetest πŸ₯°
