We love our holidays with our pups and wouldn't change it for the world ππ©΅π©·
Frankies turn to have a tantrum today π
stop taking photos and lets GO! πΎ
Had the pleasure of doggy sitting this cutie last night and we had a great time πΆπΎ
Lochy is a 2 year old Border Collie who can get a little overwhelmed by his emotions sometimes. He is a super affectionate boy but can get a little stressed and intensely seeks attention.
Border Collies are highly intelligent and high energy, they need a lot of mental stimulation as well as exercise and usually excel at dog sports such as agility, hoopers, flyball and more given their sporty nature, big brains and their need to work. Above all they are a herding breed with a deeply ingrained drive for work that can make them quite the high maintenance dog, yet no less charming π₯°
I thought I'd make it a fun night for Lochy and brought some enrichment with me to try over the course of the night. First up I put some of his food in a Kong which he loved but got bored of relatively quickly. Next up we tried a few treats in a wobble kong, this was by far his favourite and he was at it for ages! Then we had some play time with some toys before winding down with a snuffle mat and a few treats. Sniffing and nose work is a great way for your dog to calm down and relax.
Lochy was such a good boy and I'm so happy his owner trusted me to look after him for the night π©΅

Rosie throwing a tantrum when I wouldn't let her bring a literal tree home π€£
(Sound on)
Rosie thought she would help with post storm clean up today π
I never throw sticks for dogs because I'm so paranoid about stick injuries after seeing so many while working in a vet so I let her have her fun and then continued throwing her ball when she was done π₯°
Unfortunately due to Storm Babet I didn't get my last two walks with beautiful Bella and I'm absolute gutted! So instead of goodbye, we'll just say a hopeful 'see you later' to Bella ππΌ
When I first met Bella she was a little nervous of me and barked, wouldn't take treats from me and apart from a sneaky sniff, generally stayed away from me.
Nevertheless, I immediately fell for her π
I took her for her walks in quiet areas near her home away from home and she gradually got used to me, started taking treats and following me but she didn't like the city noises and would often refuse to walk a certain way, as her mum had warned me!
So I started taking Bella to a nearby park where she really started coming out of her shell. She'd jump right in the car and get so excited to go exploring! She loved watching everyone in the park and have a good sniff about. We practised recall for fun while she was on her longline and she got so good at it and stopped putting the breaks on completely.
For our (unexpected) last walk we visited a different park and Bella was just absolutely full of beans. She was more confident and seemed to have finally accepted me. No more hesitation to leave the garden, no more stopping on walks, she would seek out my treats and let me fuss her, happy to come with me and even excited to see me. She was even doing zoomies and squaring up to the locals π
I'll definitely miss this little character and hope her mum will consider Wolf Trax Walkies the next time they're off on their holidays! I'm an absolute sucker for a pug. Thanks for trusting me with her π₯Ήπ©·
No dog walks for us today unfortunately as the the streets all around my house are becoming rivers π Hope you're all staying safe in this awful weather! βοΈ
Today's doggos. Little dreams as always ππ©΅ππ©·
