We had another busy Social Walk this evening, with a few new members joining for the first time. I love the sense of community we're fostering, so many owners putting the work in with their dogs and supporting the newbies.
It's a big step to ask for help with your dog and an even bigger step to come along to a walk with new dogs and people. Let us help you on that journey!

Is your dog in tune with you?
This is a game I play every now and then with Ollie, I ask for a heel and his job is to stay next to my left leg no matter where I go. I can turn around, throw a ball, tie my laces and he knows where he should be. It's a simple game that we've built up over time.
Notice he needs no additional commands or verbal ques from me, he's simply reading my body and responding accordingly. We can achieve this because he is motivated to work for me and understands the game. A lack of either motivation or understanding would mean he fails and looses the game.
Next time you're getting frustrated with your dog not doing what you want ask yourself, are lacking understanding or motivation?

One thing I can never get over is how manu compliments Phoenix and Juniper get on every walk we go on!
With all the negativity that's often portrayed about muzzled dogs, I see people staring and my brain goes straight to "here we go!" BUT more often than not they're complimented on how stunning and well behaved they are. It's such a breath of fresh air and a glimse into the changing perception of muzzled dogs which I'm absolutely here for ๐
Gotta love a group walk! We had a pretty relaxed wander this afternoon, but as always I made sure to get some loose lead walking practice in and just let the dogs be dogs!
Just a happy boy and his ball ๐
